1
Today you join me on the stunning beaches of Ho Tram as we explore one of my favorite IELTS topic, the topic of travel.
2
So I hope you'll find this video insightful.
3
A really good way to improve your score is also when you're answering to show feelings and attitudes.
4
express your emotions.
5
So don't just start every answer in IELTS part 1 with yes I like or yes I love.
6
Try to use other vocabulary so
7
if we really strongly love something we might say oh absolutely yes I'm a massive fan of traveling
8
or yes nothing gives me more pleasure than to travel around the world.
9
So if we're really strong, if you're neutral, you might just say, oh, yeah, sure.
10
I like traveling or yeah.
11
I guess I guess so, travelling is fun.
12
But then again if you don't like it, and remember don't be afraid in IELTS to give and show negative emotions you might say
13
oh not really no i i don't like it i'm not a big fan of going on holiday
14
or if you really don't like something you can say to be honest i hate traveling
15
so these are some different techniques that you can use
16
when first answering just so you're not always repeating yes i like yes i like Next, when you're speaking, you want to develop your answers
17
and a really good way to do this is to either give examples
18
or you might give reasons why and always try to give two reasons why.
19
Moreover, you could use the really nice grammar structure not only but also.
20
So here's two examples.
21
You might say: "Yes, I absolutely love visiting new places." Why, why?
22
Not only because I can learn about new cultures, but also I can try new mouthwatering cuisine.
23
If we want to then give an example we might say: Yes!
24
Nothing makes me happier than to visit new places.
25
For example: Last year I travelled to the majestic mountains of Dalat and took photographs of the breathtaking views.
26
So you've got two different alternatives here.
27
the breathtaking views.
28
Next.
29
When you're speaking, Try to use collocations because this is a really good way to improve
30
your speaking score in terms of vocabulary.
31
So don't just say - I love it we might say the majestic mountains of Dalat
32
Don't just say Nha Trang or Bung Thao, say the golden sandy beaches of Nha Trang.
33
Don't just say Hoi An, say the ancient city of Hoi An.
34
These collocations sound really natural and are a great way to improve your vocabulary score.
35
So let's think about a few questions and answer them together.
36
Let's first of all think about the question: Why?
37
Why is it important to travel?
38
Now remember, we want to try and use our structure, not only but also.
39
So we might say, Oh, going on holiday is vital, not only because I can relax and unwind, but also I can spend time with the people I love most in the world,
40
my gorgeous family.
41
So there we're using the structure, not only but also.
42
Let's think about another question.
43
Which places have you visited in your country?
44
Now remember team, don't just list every place that you've visited.
45
Nye Trang, Danang, Hoi Yan.
46
No, no, no. We want to try and maybe pick two places, but use our collocations.
47
So you might say: "Oh, I recently visited the majestic mountains of Sapa.
48
Moreover, I recently went to...
49
the golden sandy beaches of Nyatrang.
50
then we might use the nice structure which is important because it allowed me to develop my awareness of Vietnamese culture.
51
So that's a nice answer there using our vocabulary effectively.
52
Next.
53
Don't be afraid to show emotion in your answers when speaking about the topic of travel.
54
You can express how you felt in the moment.
55
So if they asked you, "Oh, have you ever visited any foreign countries?" You might say, "Yes, absolutely.
56
I can vividly remember last year I travelled to the thriving metropolis London, which is the heart of the United Kingdom." I can remember
57
that I felt so excited when I arrived and tried the British delicacy of fish and chips.
58
Do you see my voice, my intonation, the way that I'm speaking?
59
I'm showing genuine and true emotion.
60
Try to do this in your answers too.
61
The next question: where is your favorite place you have visited?
62
This is a fabulous question. Of course!
63
Let's answer it naturally.
64
So, for me, I absolutely loved Houtram.
65
Because it has sentimental value to me, I can vividly remember visiting Håtræm as a child with my stunning family.
66
We created many unforgettable memories there and I won't forget them in a hurry.
67
Do you see?
68
In that answer I'm reflecting on my childhood.
69
I can vividly remember in the past.
70
Next, don't get caught out if the examiners begins to ask you about the future tense.
71
So if we want to express a neutral opinion about the future we say: "Yes, I would like to" or "Yes,
72
I wish to do something." If we want to be really keen, we might say, "Oh, nothing would give me more pleasure than to maybe visit that place." Or,
73
"Yes, I would absolutely love to." Let's look at two examples of questions here.
74
The first one: Would you like to live abroad?
75
Now team, be honest here.
76
If you don't really fancy it, then you can tell them no. But for me, I would absolutely love to.
77
So you might say, "Yes, absolutely." I would love to live in a foreign country
78
because it - Give me.. so many new opportunities which I could grasp with both hands.
79
For example, I would love to stay in the majestic mountains of Sapa to learn about the local culture there.
80
So we're always putting it into the future tense when we're speaking.
81
Finally they might ask you do you have any travel plans for the future?
82
I would say yes absolutely.
83
I would love to visit Halon Bay
84
because it's a UNESCO natural wonder of the world
85
and truly an unforgettable and incredible place that I want to go to in the future.
86
Moreover, Halon Bay is famous for its unique beauty and picturesque views.
87
So don't forget to answer in
88
That brings this video to an end about the topic of travel and now it's bye from my team.
89
Bye!
