1
Today please we're going to start with part one talking about morning routines.
2
Mighty tell me do you usually have the same morning routine every day?
3
I usually take it day by day.
4
I think, I don't know, I feel like having too rigid of a schedule doesn't help me kind of prepare for the day.
5
It just depends on what obligations I have that day
6
but I'm a pretty like early riser morning person person
7
so a lot of the time I tend to wake up
8
at like six to do some work instead of doing work
9
like late into the night it just works a lot better for my schedule
10
and so it really just depends on how much work I have on a given day
11
but I don't like to stick to routines.
12
Thank you very much.
13
What do you usually do when you first wake up?
14
Honestly look at my phone because I I don't know, it's where my family contacts me,
15
it's where I get all of like emails related to school and stuff like that, so like all the important stuff so then it kind of, like if I'm doing work in the morning,
16
it kind of gets me in the mood, like get more productive if I'm already thinking about these things
17
and like laying out everything I have to do for the day.
18
Fantastic, thank you.
19
Has your morning routine changed since you were younger?
20
Yeah, it used to be a lot more chaotic because me and my brother like to sleep in a lot.
21
So then we would wake up a lot later than we were supposed to for school.
22
And so it'd be like one big rush.
23
But nowadays, since I can control my own schedule a little better, I can like plan it around my own moods and whatever.
24
So it isn't as rushed.
25
But I do think having those like schedules in my childhood helped me.
26
like wake up on time for example
27
and like know what I need to do to begin my day but like it's a very different mood.
28
Thank you very much.
29
Let's move on now to talk about crowded places.
30
Is your city a crowded place?
31
That's an understatement.
32
There's about I think like 10 million residents in the city and so it's like always really busy busy,
33
there's hustle and bustle, you can't avoid people no matter where you go, really.
34
Yeah, definitely.
35
Thank you.
36
I agree.
37
How do you feel when you spend time in a crowded place?
38
I think it's because I grew up in a city, but it really doesn't affect me at all.
39
I like the animity of it.
40
You can just flow through it like a crowd.
41
I think of it, and many people describe it as a river where you can just navigate through crowds of people,
42
And there's a shared understanding that you try not to bump into people, you don't stare at someone for too long, for example.
43
So I feel really at home when I'm in a crowded place.
44
Thank you.
45
And finally, let's talk about sports.
46
Mighty, have you ever played a sport?
47
A couple, yeah.
48
I did basketball, swimming, badminton, there's just a variety of stuff I tried.
49
Which was your favourite?
50
Personally, badminton.
51
I've been going to a club meeting every Tuesday recently where we just play recreationally.
52
So, yeah, it gets the exercise in.
53
Thank you.
54
And finally, are there any sports that are particularly popular in your country?
55
I would say the most popular one is soccer or football because, I don't know, like with the World Cup going on right now,
56
it's just a big stir.
57
So then, yeah, I think it's the most popular one because it's also so easy to play.
58
Like you really just need a ball and like maybe two trees in the background for a goalpost. But yeah.
59
Why is that important in Vietnam?
60
Is it being simple to play?
61
I think because like, well now there's a lot more options and like stuff,
62
but many people came from the countryside or like in times of struggle.
63
So then they needed like those quick ways to entertain themselves
64
and also have fun as kids and like go out and like interact with people.
65
So it's like a social bonding event and also like exercise for kids.
66
you just took whatever you could and like scrapped together some fun game.
67
Thank you.
68
That's one of the reasons I love Vietnam.
69
Wonderful.
70
Okay let's move on to part two now please.
71
I've got a question for you here and you'll have one minute to prepare.
72
The question is could you please describe a time you received exceptionally good customer service from a business or company?
73
Fantastic.
74
So that brings us to the end of the one minute now, Mighty.
75
So when you're ready, please can you start?
76
I would say a time I received exceptionally good customer service was at Rockwater Bay in Fang Tape.
77
I think they've changed their name since then, but my family used to go there often because we're like an animal lover family.
78
We have like a couple pets and such.
79
So when we first, a lot of resorts in the area don't allow like animals.
80
So then when we first came to them with like a dog carrier bag, they were a little shocked to be honest.
81
But then they were pretty accommodating.
82
Actually, it wasn't the most professional, but the receptionist was like, OK, if you keep the noise down to minimum,
83
if you don't make a mess, you can have your dog there.
84
So then that was a really memorable vacation
85
because otherwise we would have had to like drive home or like find a hostel to stay in.
86
But like because we got to have our pets there and they were so accommodating to what we needed, it like made my family kind of instantly fall in love with the place.
87
Like it wasn't exceptional in its like facilities or like any of its location,
88
but because the staff were so like personable and friendly, we just kept coming back.
89
And eventually my dad is still best friends with the old security guard there, actually, because they used to chat by like the poolside
90
while me and my brother like played in there and like splashed each other.
91
and a lot of the staff began to like know us by name
92
because it was so like it was we just kept coming back to it it was really special
93
but like otherwise they were just they helped us a lot
94
with like we um my mom lost her beach towel
95
so then there was like a small convenience store to the side they walked us all the way there
96
and and started haggling with the shop lady to get better pricing
97
because it was a little overpriced for like a China touristy area
98
and I feel like it really like made me me value being friendly and making good first impressions to customers.
99
Thank you very much, that sounds like an amazing experience.
100
If I can have your sheet back there, thank you so much, well done.
101
Mighty, I want to continue in part three talking about that kind of topic.
102
Can you tell me, in a competitive market, is a company's customer service just as important as the actual product or price?
103
I feel like the most important part would be like the quality of the product
104
that they're offering but I do think
105
that customer service is extremely like a vital part
106
because it's like the first impression and also the face of the company
107
and since like nowadays there's a lot of competitors with very
108
similar quality products I feel like customer service has become increasingly
109
important when dealing with customers because it's just like how you market the product
110
and how you get customers to stay and like trust the brand so it's pretty important thank you well done as automated chatbots
111
and ai customer service become a standard what unique value do
112
human customer service officers provide i think like i said in
113
my previous answer about the resort i I think it's that authenticity that makes it really, really special because AI chatbots,
114
they're running on programs and they're adapting and they're learning, but they only go as far as their code and how much they've learned.
115
While humans, they can adapt more easily, they problem solve.
116
And they're able to convey meaning in a more meaningful way.
117
But yeah, I think even with AI chatbots,
118
you need human supervisors constantly checking over the quality or whether or not the bot has messed up or it's accurate.
119
So I think humans are really irreplaceable in those fields
120
because you still need a person behind the AI chatbot to ensure that it is a good service.
121
Very interesting, thank you.
122
Let's move on to a different topic now about street markets.
123
My team, why do traditional street markets remain popular even in modern cities with large supermarkets?
124
I think part of it is like the familiarity of it
125
because when you go to the market you're seeing all these sellers face to face
126
and you know they get a lot of like their produce from local farmers
127
and stuff and stuff so that some people value like
128
that um like small scale economic contribution and just like supporting
129
and giving back to their community i think for most people it's a matter of like tradition
130
because it's just like something your grandma did something your great
131
grandmother did you went to the market in the morning you
132
bought the meat for the day you bought the rice for the day
133
and so you get to know all these people over like decades
134
and decades and they kind of of become family friends in the end.
135
And so, yeah, it's that like, and supermarkets are still relatively new to the climate.
136
So then people are less trusting of the goods they produce
137
because it does feel kind of cold and clinical sometimes compared to seeing the sellers face to face.
138
And another benefit is being able to haggle at the market so you can track how things are changing in time, like the inflation and such.
139
And so it's just, yeah.
140
Fantastic.
141
And I guess it's part of the culture in Vietnam as well.
142
Yes.
143
Wonderful.
144
Thank you.
145
But do you think local governments should invest in preserving traditional public spaces or should they prioritize modern commercial real estate?
146
I think absolutely.
147
like the public places should be preserved
148
because in a way they are like a cultural heritage
149
and their reflection of not just where we came from
150
but like who we are nowadays because like I think to pave over all
151
that stuff and just build like office building on office building it seems like erasing
152
that part of our history for example I remember driving with my mom past the road one day
153
and there was this beautiful ancient Chinese style building with French murals on it
154
and it was being torn down to make space for a new office building
155
or apartment and I just felt like in
156
that moment it was such a shame to see that part literally buried under rubble
157
and yeah to have something new just like be placed on
158
it I feel like I do feel like there's like a kind of soul
159
or spirit or like history to that place and yeah it just erases your identity when you tear it down.
160
Thank you so much
161
and finally can you tell me in what ways do outdoor
162
commercial spaces like markets contribute to the social fabric of a neighborhood?
163
I think like again it builds up that community
164
and I think like making a soccer ball to go outside
165
you kind of start to bond with the people around you
166
and it encourages you to go outside and make all of these connections
167
because in the end humans are like pack animals we value all of our relationships
168
and like the way we connect with each other so I just feel like it's really vital to have those spaces.
169
Thank you, thank you.
170
Well done and that brings us to the end of the test.
171
Congratulations!
172
Well done!
173
Good job, thank you.
174
Mighty, I just would like to ask you a few questions.
175
How do you feel that went?
176
How did you feel during the test?
177
I feel like I rambled a little bit, but it was fun.
178
It was mostly on topic.
179
I forgot the last question halfway through my answer.
180
Okay, but you did the right thing instead of panicking and just saying nothing.
181
You totally paused and then just stopped there at the same time.
182
Yeah, amazing.
183
One thing that I'm blown away by, I know that you've spent time abroad in the States and so your fluency is fantastic.
184
I think that the way
185
that you answered the part three questions was phenomenal in the sense
186
that I really tried to adjust the questions to make them a bit more difficult
187
but you seemed to handle them with degrees which was great.
188
Yes, it seemed like actually your part three was the best, better than your part one which is kind of like the reverse role reversal.
189
I feel like you've warmed up for the part three.
190
Yeah, a little bit.
191
Starting with morning routines is hard, there's not much you can speak about.
192
Yeah, well overall I thought you did a great performance
193
and I want to say a big thank you for joining us today.
194
Good job, thank you, very nice to meet you.
