1
All right, let's gather our thoughts.
2
In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, one God.
3
Amen.
4
How's everybody doing?
5
Glory be to God.
6
May you hear the word of life, our brother Kalab and our sister Fikir.
7
We're going to do a quick pop quiz, pop quiz.
8
All right.
9
We can either choose one specific person or we could like answer as a group.
10
What do you guys want to do?
11
As a group?
12
Specific person.
13
Okay, okay.
14
Is anybody bold enough to answer these two questions?
15
It's on the Mesmer Explanations, and it's not really hard.
16
So anybody bold enough?
17
Mikias?
18
Okay, Mikias rose his hand.
19
It's okay, it's okay.
20
No?
21
Okay.
22
We'll answer as a group then.
23
What season are we currently in?
24
Season of what?
25
Rain.
26
Everybody say with me, season of?
27
Rain.
28
All right, second question.
29
This season tends to go all the way up until what? Which holiday?
30
Yes, New Year's, New Year's.
31
All right.
32
So that being said, hopefully we're, you know, really engaging in these spiritual conversations, these spiritual talks.
33
So for the psalm for today, it's Psalm 65, verse 9, if you guys can repeat after me.
34
You care for the land.
35
A little louder, a little louder.
36
You care for the land. and water it.
37
You enrich it abundantly.
38
The streams of God are filled with water.
39
Amen.
40
So St. Athanasius actually mentions that this specific psalm and this specific portion of the psalm is actually the thanksgiving portion, right?
41
We're giving thanks to our God.
42
We're giving thanks because He does so many things that we tend to not notice, and he cares for not the things that are alive, but actually the things that are not even living,
43
like the waters, the land.
44
In other words, we call him our caretaker, our caretaker.
45
He takes care of the trees, makes sure that the trees have leaves, the filtered ground has crops, and makes sure that the streams are filled with water.
46
All right.
47
We actually pray this during the liturgy.
48
You know that time when the deacon actually says, Seguro, we're all down for like 10 minutes.
49
Hopefully it's not like nap time or anything like that, right?
50
But in that prayer, he says,
51
we pray for the water of the rivers that God may fill them to their due measure and bounds.
52
So when you hear this psalm, when you hear these prayers, you tend to think of it physically, which is great.
53
But there's also the spiritual side.
54
All right?
55
See, back then, in the Old Testament, people had to walk thousands of miles just to get to the river, especially if there was a drought.
56
They needed to go to a river in order to filter and allow their crops to grow.
57
But right now, did you guys know that that living water is within you?
58
John 7, verse 37 and 39, it says, On the last day of the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out,
59
saying, It wasn't a regular saying.
60
He's crying out to everybody here, pleading, saying, please, he's begging for you. And he says what?
61
He says, If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
62
He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
63
You see, right there, right there in your own hearts.
64
You don't have to walk thousands of miles.
65
It's already within you.
66
Right now what he's saying is, he's saying, let me take care of you.
67
You tried it your way.
68
It didn't work.
69
Why not come to me?
70
See, the minute you open up your heart to him, blessings will never stop.
71
Just like in the river, the water never stops flowing.
72
And then, all of a sudden, your life will be enriched abundantly.
73
Let's go back to the psalm.
74
The first line it says, you care for the land and you water it.
75
See, if the land didn't have water, it would be dry.
76
It wouldn't be able to live to its fullest potential.
77
See, the land is actually your heart.
78
Your heart.
79
But with this land, if you open that door to Christ, you will be able to live to your fullest potential.
80
So my question is this, what worries you the most?
81
What gets you nervous and anxious the most?
82
Because whatever that worry is, it's driving you away from Christ, rather than you allowing yourself to open that door so that the living water could come out.
83
So then the question really becomes, do you really believe?
84
Like back to the verse, it said what?
85
He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
86
If your heart was genuinely having this beloved water, you would feel peace, you would feel patience, you would feel calmness.
87
But all of a sudden, for some reason, we stress, we're anxious.
88
Do we have peace in our own heart?
89
Why?
90
Do I really believe?
91
He takes care of the land, the rivers, the things that are not even alive, the birds in the sky,
92
the animals, but we tend to question if he cares about us.
93
It's a personal opinion, personal opinion.
94
Who do you guys think worries the most in your life?
95
Personally, I think it's my parents, 100%.
96
Especially the mothers.
97
The mothers, bro, y'all are different.
98
Y'all are different level.
99
They're always asking me questions like I'm an adult now, right?
100
Their favorite question is, yo, did you eat?
101
Did you eat?
102
Every time, first question.
103
And specifically, I remember when I was growing up, my mom's biggest worry was like if I,
104
you know, were to like genuinely be close with Christ.
105
And she would always push me in these certain events, makes me like come to church Sunday morning.
106
And like you could see, you could genuinely see the worry on her face, on her body.
107
And it was stressing her out.
108
But then all of a sudden, like she kind of stopped, like she kind of let go a little bit.
109
Obviously she asked the questions in here and there, but she would never like force me.
110
And you could see the worry in her heart actually vanished.
111
At the time I'm like, yes, thank God, like finally I could sleep in, right?
112
But I realized later on eventually that she gave that worry to God.
113
She did her part.
114
She asked me, hey, you should come.
115
You should go to this.
116
But then she would also make sure that she prays about it.
117
She would communicate to God, the caretaker, to take care of this situation, to take care of me.
118
And if it wasn't for her prayers, honestly, God, I would not be in his house at this very moment.
119
See, she gave that worry to God.
120
Why?
121
Because she believed in him, believed that he was genuinely the caretaker.
122
Funny enough, yesterday we had the men's fellowship event.
123
I don't know if our brother James is here, but our brother James is a beloved husband.
124
And he was telling us a story about how his wife ended up coming up to him very worried, very confused.
125
I want to take this route.
126
I want to get into this college.
127
I'm worried.
128
What should we do?
129
And obviously, you would suppose that the man has the answer.
130
But what did he say?
131
He said, honestly, I don't even know.
132
But you know what we can do?
133
Let's give it to God.
134
Let's pray about it.
135
See, I know for sure As you can see now That their lives are enriched abundantly Why?
136
Because they gave that worry to God What are you worried about?
137
Is it a specific outcome of a certain conversation? Is it your future?
138
Your job?
139
The love of your life?
140
because whatever that is, is driving you away from God.
141
Give it to God.
142
Pray about it.
143
Ask the caretaker to do his job, and you do your job by letting us come to him, as it says in the verse,
144
but also drink of the cup.
145
You come, and you give, and you drink the cup. So, same question.
146
I'll leave you guys to that to ponder about.
147
What worries you the most and how have we given it to God?
148
So that being said, we'll call up youth choir.
149
We'll be to God.

  • Reduzierte Formen: Er sagt „it's not“ statt „it is not“ und „you know“ – übe solche Alltagsreduktionen, um flüssiger zu klingen.
