Hey guys, I'm Esther from S Lashes and in this video we're going to be talking about client aftercare for eyelash extensions.
2
Now, client aftercare is so important because not only does it help their lashes last longer,
3
but it also keeps their eyes healthy and that is so important.
4
We're going to go over every single thing
5
that the clients should do to follow their aftercare to keep their eyelash extensions looking their best.
6
So let's get started.
7
So number one, and this actually only applies
8
if you're not using a super bonder is to avoid water for the first 24 hours.
9
And if you are using a super bonder after applying eyelash extensions, they're actually going to cure from within and they're going to leave.
10
They're going to be able to get their lashes wet right away.
11
Super bonder is such a great product for that reason,
12
because I know a lot of clients have a hard time waiting 24 hours to get their lashes wet.
13
Number two is to use oil free products.
14
So if clients are constantly using oil -based products around their eyes what can happen is
15
that over time the oil can start to break down the lash adhesive.
16
It just slowly slowly slowly does this.
17
It's not like you apply it one time and they all pop off.
18
It breaks them down over time.
19
So if they're sleeping with oil -based products overnight, if they're using oil -based makeup removers,
20
all of those things are going to cause their eyelash extensions to pop off prematurely.
21
So let your clients know to avoid oil -based products.
22
Number three is no mascara on your eyelash extensions, especially not waterproof mascara.
23
So if clients put waterproof mascara on,
24
really the only way to remove that is with an oil -based remover because that's what breaks down waterproof mascara.
25
So what they're going to end up doing is ruining all of their beautiful lash fans by putting mascara on them.
26
But also if they need to actually remove that, which you do in order to have clean and healthy eyes,
27
they're going to have to use an oil -based product
28
which is also going to make their lashes pop off
29
so mascara is basically just a disaster for lash extensions avoid
30
it at all costs now you also want to avoid eyelash curlers
31
and if your clients want a more dramatic look you can actually offer them mega volumes
32
or something like
33
that instead of putting mascara on top of their lash extensions
34
don't forget about eyeliner as well waterproof eyeliner same deal
35
you don't want to be using waterproof eyeliner
36
now clients can use eyeliner with lash extensions that's no problem
37
they're going to be washing them at the end of the day with a lash safe cleanser
38
but just make sure that it's an oil -free product
39
and an eyeliner
40
that is safe to use with lash extensions number four is to brush those lashes every single day
41
sometimes even twice a day
42
so your client you're going to send them home with their
43
little mascara one maybe inside their lash case with their instructions
44
and let your clients know every day
45
they should be combing those lashes brushing them making sure to remove any tangles it keeps some nice
46
and tidy and it helps to remove any loose lashes that we're going to pop off anyways.
47
For five is to wash those lashes every single day.
48
So you want to be letting your clients know that they need to use a lash safe cleanser, baby shampoo, those kinds of things.
49
They will not work.
50
They won't properly clean the lashes and they can actually cause them to pop off sooner.
51
So recommend for them a lash safe cleanser at least once a day.
52
Usually at the end of the day, if they wear makeup to just remove any makeup and dirt before bed.
53
This is going to prevent them from getting any infections in their eye
54
and it's also going to help those lash extensions to last longer.
55
I like to recommend a sensitive lash cleanser with no added fragrance, no added sulfates, anything like that.
56
Once those lashes are clean, the client can actually dry them using either a cool fan or the cool setting on their blow dryer.
57
You want to be really careful, no heat on the lash extensions because that can wreck the curl or dry out the eyes,
58
things like that but just the cool setting you can dry the lashes just gently with
59
that and then you can comb out the lashes number six is don't pick pull
60
or rub on those lash extensions picking
61
or pulling at the lash extensions is going to pull the lashes out prematurely the more you do
62
that you can actually cause damage to the natural lashes by picking
63
and pulling at them also with the extensions there is extra weight on your lashes the more you're rubbing them
64
and picking and pulling at them, the more damage you can do.
65
You can cause not only the extensions to come off prematurely, but you can actually pull out some of your own natural lashes prematurely.
66
And just like when you wax your hair all the time, sometimes the hairs stop coming back in temporarily.
67
Same thing can happen with your lashes.
68
If you're always pulling them out, you can cause temporary or even long -term damage to your lashes.
69
So no picking, no pulling, and no rubbing the eyes.
70
And number seven is to avoid face sleeping, if at all possible.
71
Because if you're sleeping on your face, you're constantly pushing on those lashes.
72
Now, if clients are going to be sleeping on their sides, are going to be sleeping on their faces, I recommend using a satin pillowcase.
73
Actually sell this as an upsell to your clients is to sell satin pillowcases out of your salon.
74
It's so good for your hair, it's good for your skin, and it's also great for your lashes.
75
Number nine is to avoid cotton products around the eye.
76
So for example, if you're using a cotton bowl or cotton round around your eye,
77
what can happen is the cotton can get all tangled up in your lash extensions and cause a major mess,
78
it's really hard to pull those little cotton fibers out.
79
so i'd recommend using a microfiber cloth again another great upsell
80
that you can make more money on your retail products
81
and you can also help your clients out
82
and number 10 for aftercare is for the client to pre -book their fills
83
because lash fills need to be done approximately every two to
84
three weeks depending on the person pre -booking those fills is
85
so important so actually do have an aftercare sheet
86
that you can put inside one of your old lash trays
87
so instead of throwing away your old lash trays what you can do is print off
88
this free download from our website slashes .com
89
and you can put this little aftercare sheet inside one of your old lash trays
90
and you can stick the mascara wand in there as well
91
and send your clients home with that
92
so every time they open it up to get their mascara wand out
93
they're going to be reminded of the aftercare that they should be following
94
so those are all of my aftercare tips for eyelash extensions
