Shadowing Practice: Did This Camera Survive the Static Fire? - Starbase Summary - Learn English Speaking with Video

Creando lección...
1
It's time for another Starbase summary from Starbase Texas.
2
Have to specify the Texas now, because of course we've got Starbase Louisiana on the horizon.
3
Booster 21 headed out to the pad this week for that static fire test. Will this camera survive?
4
I guess you'll have to wait till the end of the video to find out.
5
SpaceX also moving some hydraulic RAM stand hardware, easy for me to say, from Massey's over to the production site.
6
all of that and more is coming up
7
but we're going to start at pad two with some booster
8
quick disconnect sensor testing they have those little sensors in the top of the hoods
9
and you can see a worker waving his hand about clearly testing
10
if the sensor is working or not safely strapped in to
11
that aerial work platform which is neatly positioned there you go testing the i guess testing
12
if the sensors are sensing anything i mean what else would they be testing
13
and then of course the scaffolding getting removed ahead of that static fire test which is coming up shortly the following day.
14
Always a cool time lapse to see them take that scaffolding down.
15
Looks a little neater than it was on pad one of course.
16
And this is the start of the show.
17
Booster 21 making its way out of Mega Bay 1.
18
Just about fits through the door and out into the ring yard.
19
maybe having a look at the top of the booster before moving the aerial work platform back down
20
and then of course the booster rolling out of the production site taking the the long way around
21
because they've helpfully built a gigabay in the path
22
that the boosters used to take
23
but there you go three fresh grid fins fingers crossed ready
24
to deliver a booster to a precise on target splash down in the Gulf and there the quick disconnects,
25
the dual quick disconnects on Block 3 Booster plugged up to make sure nothing that shouldn't be inside gets inside.
26
That would be very bad of course.
27
There you go, the fleet of police vehicles getting ready to escort the booster
28
down Highway 4 past the Giga Bay where of course these boosters will one day be rolling out of, hopefully in the not too distant future.
29
Got some wonderful SPMT noises as well.
30
And there goes Booster 21.
31
Rolling down Highway 4, past the production site, past our highway site.
32
Zooming in through the transport stand, taking a look at the Raptors.
33
Looks like a zero number there ending in 3-0, so I'm not sure if that's 1-3-0 or 2-3-0.
34
Maybe a 1, because we've got a 1-8 in there as well.
35
What's that, 1-8-2 maybe?
36
Let us know what you think in the comments, which zero numbers did we spot?
37
I suppose when it's lifted onto the launch map we'll get a bit of a better view.
38
There you go, making its way down the highway, past the onlookers.
39
Cybertrucks are waiting, or getting out of the way it looks like.
40
Another view inside of the transport stand.
41
A little too high to see the serial numbers this time, but there you go.
42
more SPMT noises looking up at that black painted section and those beautiful chines
43
wonderful tilt up the booster there
44
Of course Block 3 Super Heavy with those two longer chines
45
and the two shorter chines compared to the previous generation where they're all about the same length
46
and similarly positioned around the booster.
47
That is that new integrated hot staging ring
48
which has worked a few times on the couple flights that we've seen of this booster generation so far.
49
and there we go turning into the launch site now all the wheels on the spmt's doing their thing
50
headed to pad two chopsticks ready and waiting to lift up
51
that booster and the road reopens so uh everybody can uh drive on by to boca chica beach
52
and there we go booster 21 entering the chopsticks now
53
and here is the lift okay let's see what zero numbers we can spot I can see a 155 in there
54
maybe it was just 80
55
I didn't realise there'd be a double digit Raptor on this booster I assumed
56
that they would have gone through all of those by now but I'm clearly incorrect got a 189 in there
57
a 1.9 something as well maybe a 1.1 something booster 21 translating over on the chopsticks lining up that's what those
58
sensors we were looking at for I think 200 is on the right side there
59
Raptor 200 Raptor 3.200 I should specify 1.57 1.79 maybe next to Raptor 80.
60
Looks like a 4.9 on the middle ring as well.
61
And being lowered into the launch mount.
62
Very slowly, very carefully.
63
With as much precision as possible, of course.
64
Slow and steady wins the race.
65
Especially when you're lifting a 70m tall booster into its launch mount.
66
Looks like one of the...
67
Oh, all the doors are now opening on the bottom there.
68
On the bottom of the shop, on the top of the launch mount.
69
And the quick disconnect extending. And connection.
70
Big yellow rod for some reason. Are you inspecting something?
71
I'm not sure.
72
Maybe just a last minute check around, make sure everything is going as planned.
73
And there's the moon.
74
I wonder if we'll have the lunar eclipse in this.
75
Of course we did have the lunar eclipse.
76
Stay tuned and find out.
77
There is
78
that hot staging ring I was just talking about a moment
79
ago with its extra metal skin on top to protect against the plume of the six raptor engines on ship.
80
Starbase always delivers the prettiest sunsets in the world.
81
It's undeniably the greatest of all time at sunsets.
82
And here we go, this is the pad now being cleared for booster testing on August 26th,
83
and a transport stand and load spreader rolling down the road to block the road.
84
The tank farm then spilled up and did tank farm things, but as you can see by that lower third, booster didn't do anything.
85
There was no booster prop load whatsoever,
86
and the transport stand made its way back to the launch pad freeing up highway 4. So let's try again.
87
Pad was cleared a couple days later August 28th.
88
Transport stand.
89
We've got some great views inside the transport stand.
90
You can see there the clamps that the booster is secured by inside of the transport mount.
91
Really brilliant views from this camera.
92
Positioned right at the exit of the flame trench.
93
Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. But here we go.
94
Tank farm spooling up again.
95
Huge vents from the rejig tank farm.
96
And propellant load begun.
97
This is actually real time.
98
No, I'm just kidding.
99
This isn't real time.
100
This is dive wraps.
101
But it goes so quickly that it almost could be real time. On Super Heavy V3.
102
Now, of course, the liquid oxygen tank on the bottom.
103
Liquid methane tank, frost line, now starting to rise.
104
You might think the methane tank is now just being filled up.
105
But, of course, it has that massive transfer tube inside of Super Heavy.
106
And here we go.
107
Here is the static fire we've been all waiting for.
108
All 15 seconds of it on pad 2.
109
there's ignition and
110
that is a beautiful
111
test you can
112
see the sound making visible ripples everybody very happy with
113
that test and rightly so and of course we've got all the different angles looking on from the north,
114
zoomed in on them out and you can see the flame being ejected out of that flame trench on both sides.
115
The two-sided flame trench on pad two.
116
Looking on from the south, almost dead on with the booster and it's really clear to see
117
that flame trench at work with the two big plumes from left and right,
118
creating a very large, two very large distinct clouds of steam and dust.
119
And this is the camera everybody's been waiting for.
120
Here comes the cloud and the massive stick that knocks over the camera.
121
Here's the cloud, and there's the massive stick.
122
This camera didn't see much afterwards, unfortunately.
123
And here is detanking after a successful test for booster, less successful test for the camera.
124
And here is the aftermath of these deployable cameras.
125
This is Caesar out there.
126
It's got a little bit mucky.
127
A little bit of dust.
128
A little bit of mud. But the camera survived.
129
Thumbs up.
130
Just needs a little bit of a clean.
131
And there you go, there's the camera that was hit by a stick.
132
Also survived.
133
Just barely.
134
over at the Massey's end of Starbase here we go we've
135
got the ship thrust simulator stand making its way to the
136
production site where it will be picking up the next ship along the production line
137
there we go you can see it headed along highway 4
138
back to the production site looking forward to some Ship 42 testing that mass sees hopefully sooner rather than later.
139
It's been a little while since we had some ship cryo testing.
140
Now of course Ship 41 was there the other day for its static fire but not for cryo testing.
141
And this is the partial lunar eclipse that we saw the other day, visible from most of the world but best viewing conditions in the Americas,
142
which is of course where Starbase Texas is.
143
Looks about 50% obscured now.
144
It wasn't a total lunar eclipse unfortunately.
145
There was still a sliver of sunlight hitting the moon but it did get pretty pretty covered.
146
This is the most obscuration I believe the word is until December 31st,
147
2028 which will be the New Year's Eve lunar eclipse which I'm very looking forward to.
148
So Mikey Cyananders. and
149
that was another starbase summary thank you very much for tuning
150
in of course my voice is not the voice of das das is busy this week
151
but i hope you enjoyed my beautiful tones nonetheless thank you
152
very much for watching do tune in for the next one and we'll see you then bye
