but that's not the same story for half of the nation facing heavy snow and ice this weekend.

Let's bring in NBC6's meteorologist Chelsea Ambriz with a check on our forecast this morning.

January 19th and we are not forecasting any of that here in South Florida for now.

Do you want to start though with the national temperatures because you can see just how far to this out?

That cold Arctic air is moved.

Bismarck, Minneapolis, Chicago minus 1513,

seven degrees below zero, respectively to those cities.

Miami, it's just after 10 AM right at 10 AM,

and it is 78 degrees already,

so we are not participating in winter this weekend,

but we're going to be able to but we will get a shot of cold air as we get into Tuesday morning.

So Monday into Tuesday the changes come into our area,

but for now we got Arctic air in place near the Great Lakes.

We got that snow that ice already set up shop into the deep South,

and that cold air is still staying to our north for a couple more days.

We've had a few stray showers out there early this morning,

possible to see a few showers here or there this afternoon.

As we get into the day tomorrow,

not expecting any rain here in South Florida,

but it will be even warmer,

even hotter across the area.

Notice that front starts to gear up to come through on Monday,

so maybe some morning showers and an afternoon downpour before the bottom drops out Monday into Tuesday.

But for today, high temperature is expected right around 82.
