Lessons
Video series to shadow in order. The same characters come back in every episode, so each video builds on the one before.
A Day in My Life
Level A1–A2Ben lives in a small apartment with his cat, Mochi. In each episode he tells you about one part of his day, from getting up to cooking dinner and going to bed, in simple A1–A2 English. Shadow the episodes in order, and soon you can talk about your own day in English.
Lily & Family
Level A1Six-year-old Lily plays with her family, her dog Biscuit and her bird Pip at home, in the garden and at school. Short cartoon episodes in simple British English for young learners (A1): big and small, up and down, in, under and behind.
Maple Wood
Level A1In Maple Wood the animals walk, talk and play like people: Benny Bear, Rosie Rabbit, Felix Fox, Pippa Penguin, Ellie Elephant and Professor Hoot. Funny cartoon stories in simple American English for kids (A1), built on opposites like hot and cold, fast and slow, big and small.
City Stories
Level B1Young people living and working in an American city. Maya and Lucas work at a small design studio across the street from Sam's café, where every day brings a new story: first days, team meetings, deadlines and weekends. Everyday conversations in natural American English (B1).
London Stories
Level B1Flatmates in London: Ollie is always late, Zara works night shifts at the hospital, and Kwame has just moved in. With Hannah upstairs and Rob behind the bar at the pub down the street, there's always something going on. Everyday conversations in natural British English (B1).
IELTS Speaking
Level B1–C1Every part of the IELTS Speaking test, acted out by an examiner and a candidate. Part 1: short questions about everyday life. Part 2: a two-minute talk from a cue card. Part 3: a deeper discussion of big ideas. The lesson ends with full mock sessions. Shadow the model answers to build fluency, natural linking and band-7+ vocabulary (B1–C2).
SEtalk
Level B1–C1Short TED-style talks on the SEtalk stage: one speaker, one big idea, backed by real research. Why we should talk to strangers, why boredom makes us creative, why procrastination isn't laziness, the myth of the lone genius and more. A clear, persuasive monologue to shadow for public speaking, presentations and IELTS (B1–C1).
CET-4 Listening
Level B1–B2Practice tests in the format of China's College English Test Band 4 listening section: news reports (Section A), long conversations (Section B) and passages (Section C), each followed by the exam questions read aloud. Original material, not past papers. Shadow every sentence to get used to the speed and the details the questions ask about (B1–B2).
CET-6 Listening
Level B2–C1Practice tests in the format of China's College English Test Band 6 listening section: long conversations (Section A), passages (Section B) and academic lectures (Section C), each followed by the exam questions read aloud. Faster and more academic than CET-4, with real research explained in long sentences. Original material, not past papers (B2–C1).
SE-Ed
Level B1–C1Animated mini-lessons in the style of TED-Ed: one curious question, explained by a narrator with true facts from science and history. Why we get goosebumps, why a week has seven days, why the ocean is salty, the Great Emu War, what really happened to the Library of Alexandria and more. Clear narration to shadow and take dictation from (B1–C1).
