Hi guys, welcome back this week i am in bath
2
which is one of my favorite cities in the world i'm
3
so happy to be here i got here two nights ago
4
so i already spent yesterday just walking around the city i've been to bath one time in my life
5
that was two years ago and i was here for a few days
6
and i have just been itching to come back ever since
7
a lot of this week will just be going back to some of my favorite places
8
that i went to last time while also exploring new places
9
that i haven't been to yet
10
so i'm really excited bath has a really really cool interesting history with the roman bass
11
and the goddesses and the aqua sulis of it all i just think the history makes it
12
so interesting the architecture is beautiful a lot of good shopping here a lot of good bookstores i am just
13
so so excited for this week
14
that i'm about to have i just got ready for the day
15
so i'm about to head out my first stop is going to be prior park
16
which is a beautiful landscape garden it's huge um it's a national trust
17
so i'm about to head over there i actually haven't been
18
there before somehow the last time i came to bath i
19
missed it i didn't go um i don't know how
20
because obviously it's like one of the main attractions of bath it's such a beautiful park and i'm
21
so excited to go see it today after prior park i think i'm just gonna head into the city
22
and maybe go to a museum cafe saunter on into some
23
bookstores you know the whole deal apparently this week is also the jane holston festival i actually didn't know
24
that surprisingly i'm heading out right now i will catch up with you guys later
25
okay i made it to prior park it's so
26
so beautiful i could stay here all day i wish i
27
brought like a little picnic with me i feel like this
28
would be a perfect spot to have a picnic i'm about to walk down over to
29
that bridge over there so lovely
30
this week in bath is actually the jane austen festival
31
so there's actually people walking around here with like regency era garb on
32
which is really cool and it's actually perfect for taking videos
33
because everyone is taking videos and pictures
34
so i don't feel as bad about it also like they look really fabulous in the background of my videos
35
and very period accurate so i love
36
that i think i'm gonna set my camera up right here and film myself walking towards
37
towards that thingy over there the bridge it's a bridge it's a very fancy bridge though
38
Oh, my God.
39
Thank you.
40
this might be like one of the most beautiful places in the world
41
i want to live here i really want to live here
42
guys i have to live here someday like not like right here maybe not in bath
43
but like i have to move to england someday like i'm going to do it
44
like mark my words i'm going to do it i don't know how i don't know when but like
45
it's going to happen to me.
46
I love it here so much.
47
These little ducks here are so interesting.
48
I don't know what kind of ducks those are.
49
I feel like there needs to be some swans in here though.
50
Where are all the swans at?
51
Something I love about this city is the beautiful Georgian architecture and Pulteney Bridge is the perfect example of that.
52
It was built in 1769
53
and it's one of the only bridges in the world to have shops and restaurants lining both sides of it.
54
So of course I had to pop into the bridge coffee shop.
55
I was really lucky and got this spot by the window overlooking the water
56
and I ordered my first full English breakfast since I've been here
57
which of course is always a tradition when I come to England.
58
after i went to the roman bath museum
59
which is one of my favorite museums in the world the atmosphere
60
and audio guide just completely transports you back in time it's
61
just incredibly immersive during the roman empire people would travel here
62
from all over to visit the natural hot springs coming out of the ground
63
and to worship the celtic goddess sulis minerva they believed the
64
water had healing powers it was used for both medicinal purposes
65
and spiritual growth
66
and sacrifice back then of course it was an incredible privilege to be able to come here
67
and even though travel is much more accessible now than it was during ancient rome i still feel
68
that privilege when I'm here.
69
I certainly don't take these days for granted.
70
The next day, I went to Topping and Company Booksellers, and you guys, this bookstore is amazing.
71
It's the perfect size.
72
It's not too small, but it's also not too big.
73
They have an entire room dedicated to poetry, which for a girl like me is amazing.
74
I feel like most bookstores usually have a shelf, maybe two shelves, but this has an entire room dedicated to poetry and they have everything you could possibly want.
75
The layout is also just so perfect.
76
It's so cozy and they have these ladders all over the bookstore
77
that you can actually climb up and use yourself which feels very much like Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
78
This is definitely a must -visit place if you come to Bath.
79
Thank you.
80
good morning guys it is actually my last day here in bath it's been raining on
81
and off all morning so i actually booked a hop on hop off tour of bath
82
and if you don't know what that is it's like these big red buses
83
that just go around the city and you can get on and off at like any point throughout the day.
84
I know it's like super touristy but honestly don't knock it.
85
Like I've done one of them once before in London
86
and you actually get a lot of good information about the city
87
and it's a really nice way to just see everything at once
88
and it's nice because you can get off
89
and walk around whenever you want and then get back on when you feel like it.
90
So that's what I'm doing today.
91
I feel like it'd be the perfect thing to do for my last day here in Bath
92
and also because it's raining I just feel like it makes sense.
93
I have a few things I might want to do today.
94
I'm not really sure.
95
I'm kind of just gonna like vibe it out to be honest.
96
I've had it an amazing in the past few days.
97
I haven't vlogged like every single thing that I've done but yesterday you guys probably would have seen this in the vlog.
98
I did a tour of the Bath Abbey Tower which is definitely something you have to do if you come to Bath.
99
It's a really good way to see a beautiful skyline of the city.
100
You also get a really interesting history of Bath Abbey
101
and you can also see how the clocks work and the bells and they show you like the inside of the clock.
102
and they show you how the bells work
103
and the history of the bells it's just super duper cool
104
if you're into
105
that kind of stuff i really recommend it i also went to mary shelley's house of frankenstein
106
which i didn't vlog any of that actually so i was just
107
so in the moment and having such a good time i didn't vlog it
108
so fun facts about some of the writers
109
that we know of here in bath
110
so obviously jane austen is like known for being like one of the most famous people
111
that has lived in bath but she actually didn't write a ton
112
while she was here though bath does kind of become like
113
a huge inspiration for her novels in the future i also like feel
114
that whenever i'm away from home i like don't write as much as i want to just
115
because i don't have a room of my own i don't feel super safe
116
and in my environment but i do gather like so much self -lore that
117
influences my writing in the future so i thought that was interesting
118
but also mary shelley lived here in bath for a while
119
and she wrote most of frankenstein
120
while she was here i think it's just it's interesting to see how travel influences different writers so
121
if you go to mary shelley's house of frankenstein you can
122
see the entire history of how frankenstein came to be
123
and her trip with lord byron and percy shelley
124
and her sister it's just a really cool museum
125
if you get a chance it's right next to jane austen center
126
so yeah i really recommend
127
that one as well i've been going to waterstones cafe every
128
single day it's like a cafe on the second story of the bookstore waterstones
129
and it's really nice because you can just sit by the window
130
and have your coffee and i've been doing
131
that every single day since i've been here i bought this
132
sweater yesterday how cute is this i just fell in love with the color
133
and i tried it on
134
and i was like i absolutely have to have this i love this color
135
so much i feel like it matches my eyes and it goes well with my hair.
136
Right now I'm going to finish getting ready
137
and I'm gonna go hop on this bus and see what I get up to today.
138
Thank you.
139
Thank you.
140
i finally have a quiet moment in a quiet area to chat just pulled up to the royal crescent
141
which is right here behind me just a really nice peaceful
142
area there's a lot less people on this side of town just went to jane austen center
143
which was really cool i went to jane austen center last time i was in bath
144
and i decided i might as well just go again i
145
think I'm actually going to go back to the bookstore and get a coffee somewhere.
146
I think that sounds very nice and peaceful.
147
Thank you.
148
okay hello guys good morning first of all i got this new jacket new raincoat unlocked
149
which is the same color as my other raincoat
150
but this one i've always wanted one with buttons like this Let me show you.
151
It looks better when it's like all buttoned up
152
and it's kind of wrinkly because I just took it out of the bag that it was in.
153
I promise it's really cute.
154
I'm going to show you how it actually looks later on in this vlog
155
but um I'm kind of in a rush right now.
156
I'm kind of rushing right now
157
because I am leaving to go to my next place
158
which I think I'm just going to go ahead
159
and include in this vlog and just put it all together as one one vlog with two different cities.
160
I'm packing up my bag right now and I'm going to the train station and I'm headed to Oxford.
161
I'm super excited.
162
I only have one day there in Oxford
163
so I'm just gonna spend the day exploring
164
and walking around I've been to Oxford once as well
165
but also only for one day
166
so I hope to explore other parts of it I'm packing up my bag right now
167
and it's completely overflowing I haven't even bought
168
that much stuff guys I've bought in like two books a jacket
169
and a sweater and my suitcase is already completely full
170
and nothing fits so I still have things
171
that I need to fit into there but I'm gonna figure
172
that out right now i have like five minutes to figure
173
that out so i will catch up with you guys when i get to oxford later
174
okay guys i made it to oxford i have all of
175
my bags my suitcase i just carried it up the stairs
176
i'm completely out of breath this is my least favorite thing
177
about travel is my least favorite thing about travel is carrying my suitcase around it's
178
so freaking heavy i'm about to get rid of it right now though
179
and put it in a storage locker for the day am i in the right spot where am i
180
literally where am i don't know where i am i'm gonna figure it out right now
181
i think the thing that fuels me quite a bit is curiosity learning something
182
or meeting someone new keeps me in the present even
183
if the thing i'm learning about happened over a thousand years ago still feels like engaging with life directly
184
and i feel the same sensation
185
when i read as well travel certainly is not the only way to be an explorer
186
hello guys i'm having a little lunch break got a wrap
187
and some diet coke i'm sitting in christchurch meadow this is
188
a very peaceful part of oxford after this i'm going to
189
do a walking tour of oxford i think it's the same tour i did last year
190
when i was here but honestly it was the only tour
191
that was available to book last minute so i went ahead
192
and booked that that's gonna start here in about 20 minutes
193
so i'm gonna finish this and then i'm gonna walk over there
194
i'm definitely the kind of person that has a lot of hopes
195
and dreams and ambitions that i look forward to
196
but i think i'm getting better at living in the moment as much as possible
197
because i know one day i'll be looking back at this time of my life as the most formative
198
there's this feeling of open -endedness in my life
199
that i have right now i think that used to scare me a lot
200
when i was younger but lately it's become the thing
201
that i cherish the most
202
that feeling of freedom it feels like anything could happen it's both scary and exciting at the same time.
203
I feel like I've been all over the place in this vlog.
204
That was my second time in Oxford
205
and the last time I was there I was also only there for one short day.
206
This time I was also just there for one day, just a quick little stop over before coming here to London.
207
I love walking around Oxford.
208
For me that feels like walking around the Emerald City.
209
It's just so beautiful it has
210
so much history i did like a historical walking tour of
211
oxford then later in the afternoon i actually met up with
212
my friend who lives in oxford who i met at a writing retreat
213
that i went to last year in england so
214
that was really nice and she kind of just showed me around her area um
215
and then i stayed at her house and we made dinner
216
and it was just so so
217
so lovely i didn't vlog it of course i don't know i don't really like to vlog
218
when i'm with other people i think my style of vlogging is more like me myself
219
and I and my interests and my passions rather than my interpersonal relationships with other people
220
if that makes sense so I didn't vlog that
221
but I had a really lovely time
222
and it was cool to see her area where she lives in Oxford
223
which isn't really central it's just right outside of like the more touristy area so I like seeing
224
places like that that i wouldn't have otherwise seen
225
if i was just traveling on my own now i'm in london
226
so that's super exciting but that's gonna be my next vlog
227
so i hope you guys enjoyed this vlog thank you
228
so much for hanging out with me this past week i love you guys
229
and i will see you in my next one.
