1
i spoke english with an ai every day for 30 days
2
and i did not expect these results
3
because here's the thing understanding english is one thing
4
but speaking it naturally and effortlessly that's a completely different story you know
5
that feeling right you understand a lot when you watch tv shows
6
and movies in english you know complicated grammar and you know advanced vocabulary
7
but when it comes to your turn to speak your brain freezes
8
and it's actually really frustrating
9
because you don't just want to understand english you want to speak it naturally
10
and effortlessly so
11
if you ever fell stuck at this stage this video is
12
for you before we dive in let me quickly say this
13
my level of english is pretty advanced not perfect not like native level fluent
14
but still it's advanced so you probably won't hear some dramatic changes in my grammar
15
or pronunciation or english in general but i can feel the difference
16
and i think people who've been following me for a long time can hear it too
17
because my goal wasn't to learn english from zero my goal was to break through the advanced plateau
18
so if you are currently stuck at the intermediate plateau this can help you too.
19
About five months ago I started a three-month speaking challenge and the idea was very simple.
20
Every month I focused on one specific activity and I did it every day.
21
The goal was to activate my passive vocabulary,
22
improve my fluency and finally start using the English I already knew.
23
And I will talk about full results of this entire three-month challenge in another video
24
but today I wanted to focus more on the third month which is speaking every day with AI
25
and honestly this was probably the most effective part of the
26
challenge what exactly did I do I chose a topic like literature productivity fashion history literally anything.
27
And I asked ChatGPT to talk to me about it.
28
I will show you the prompt that I used right now, right here.
29
Let's talk about this topic.
30
I'm interested in a real conversation with you.
31
I'm an English learner.
32
I need as many good expressions and idioms
33
and phrasal verbs as possible related to these topics please use them in your speech correct me
34
if I said something wrong help me to structure my sentences more correctly then I start speaking
35
and try to use the vocabulary
36
that normally stays passive in my brain sometimes I'd ask chat GPT to give me more natural expressions casual alternatives
37
and native like phrases or better ways to say something
38
and then I immediately try to use them while speaking at first
39
that was actually difficult because i didn't know what to talk about
40
so i started asking chat gpt to ask me follow-up questions challenge my opinions
41
and keep the conversation going naturally
42
that changed everything usually i practiced for around 15 minutes sometimes five minutes
43
if i was busy sometimes longer
44
and not every conversation had a specific topic sometimes i would just talk about like random everyday things
45
which is important too
46
because real fluency is not just a formal english right it's
47
ability to casually talk about literally anything quick disclaimer guys this type of practice improves fluency much more than accuracy
48
so we're mainly talking about speaking faster thinking in english sounding more natural
49
and feeling less stuck while talking
50
but i actually found a pretty effective way to improve your accuracy too
51
so i'll show you that in a minute the first huge advantage is availability even
52
if you have a speaking partner there's usually one big problem it's timing
53
so you're finally motivated to practice you text your friend
54
and they're busy with the ai
55
that problem completely disappears you can practice whenever you want whatever you want even in the middle of the night
56
which i did during this this challenge too sometimes i was too busy to do it in a daytime
57
and honestly this matters a lot
58
because fluency is built through repetition the second big advantage was passive learning
59
because during the conversation chat gpt used some natural phrases
60
and very useful expression expressions that i normally wouldn't use in my speech
61
and instead of just noticing them i immediately try to repeat them
62
and use them while i was speaking and giving my answers
63
and that's the key not just understanding vocabulary
64
but activating it after the session i would go back to the chat reread these phrases
65
and words repeat them write them down and try to use them next time
66
while i was speaking i wasn't perfect with this habit
67
but every time i did it it helped
68
so i highly recommend to do it learning to sound more
69
natural is my number three advantage this was probably the most surprising part for me
70
because i noticed that chat gpt was constantly paraphrasing me
71
and making it sound more natural and
72
that helped me to realize something really important is
73
that i often over complicated my english i use structures
74
that are technically correct but but they're not that natural in real conversation.
75
So instead of just ignoring those corrections,
76
I started repeating the more natural versions out loud.
77
And over time, my speech started feeling simpler smoother
78
and more effort effortless yeah now let's talk about the biggest fear most learners have what
79
if i keep making mistakes
80
and honestly even with speaking partners people don't correct each other properly
81
if you want to get detailed good feedback you need to talk to a professional tutor
82
but here's the cool part about ai after the conversation you could go back to the chat
83
and ask was this sentence natural how could i say this
84
better did i make any grammar mistakes here i'll show you the example
85
and like a screenshot of my chat
86
and this is where ai becomes really powerful
87
because you're not only practicing your fluency you're also getting personalized
88
feedback overall i'm genuinely happy with how this experiment worked did
89
my english became perfect after 30 days of course not
90
but i definitely became more confident more comfortable speaking
91
and faster at expressing my thoughts
92
and honestly i think that's what it what fluency is not perfection
93
but comfort the ability to speak without constantly panicking in your head as always the biggest key here is consistency
94
imagine not 30 days
95
but six months a year 100 days speaking every day that's
96
where real transformation happens guys little by little step by step every day
97
and if you enjoyed this video don't forget to like it
98
and subscribe
99
because in the next video i will talk about the full results of my three-month speaking challenge including
100
which technique worked the best which one was a waste of time
101
and what improved my english fastest so make sure you don't miss it i'll see you in the next video bye

  • Uso di phrasal verbs: Termini come "take up" e "come up with" sono comuni in conversazioni quotidiane.
