Pratica di Shadowing: Stop Buying "Viral" K-Beauty. 🛑 (What Koreans Actually Use) - Impara a parlare inglese con i video

Creazione lezione...
1
I said this before and I'm gonna say it again.
2
DOJ is not popular in Korea.
3
And all of those other brands that you see like Pecha Lily, Glow Recipe, they're not even sold in Korea.
4
So for today's video, I'm gonna do another comparison on the products that's popular in the US versus in Korea.
5
And I'm also gonna tell you guys which one of these two I think are actually worth your money.
6
So without further ado, let's get this video started right away.
7
First, let's start off with SPF.
8
In the US and internationally, you guys know the BOJ has a huge following.
9
While in Korea, I gotta say, these two brands have a much bigger following locally.
10
Okay, so let's break it down one by one.
11
First, the BOJ one, you guys know, as I mentioned, has a huge, huge, huge, huge following internationally.
12
I think these products are kind of what put them on the radar for sure.
13
Just because these became super popular.
14
So I'm holding their SPFs.
15
This is their original Relief Sun Rice Probiotics.
16
And I also have the latest version.
17
This is the Relief Sun Aquafresh Rice Plus B5.
18
Both of them has rice extracts as well as probiotics.
19
So you're going to get a little bit of brightening, refreshing hydration, and all of that goodness to support your skin barrier.
20
And honestly, guys, these two sunscreens, they feel so dreamy.
21
They're so creamy.
22
They're lightweight they're refreshing pretty much a good standard
23
or exemplary of what to expect when using k-beauty spf especially chemical spf
24
which both of these are i think with the price point
25
and everything these are really really good entry levels to spf
26
especially k-beauty spf however in korea like i mentioned boj is not
27
that well known they're actually well known now for being
28
so popular overseas and i know
29
that they started doing local marketing i want to say like a year
30
or two years ago so they do have somewhat of a recognition going on right now
31
but as of now aside from round up spf the dr g one
32
and the taiba one have such a chokehold on the nature
33
right now let me start off with dr g now with
34
the dr g one this is their best selling spf it's called the green mild up some plus
35
and it's a physical spf with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide
36
and it's pretty much what you would expect from a physical SPF.
37
It's a bit more stiff, pasty.
38
To be completely honest with you guys, I'm not the biggest fan of this product just
39
because I'm not a big fan of physical SPF as a category full stop.
40
But a lot of people in Korea say they love this because it's very gentle, it doesn't sting their eyes.
41
And so this is always topped ranked at Olive Young.
42
And aside from Dr. G, the Dalba SPFs are super popular.
43
I think the Dalba SPFs is one of the SPFs where
44
I actually hear a lot of people around me say they love.
45
Like even my friends who aren't that into makeup or cosmetics at all, they're like, yeah, the Dalban one's really nice.
46
And they get a lot of raving reviews for a very good reason.
47
Their SPF, the one I'm holding, is one of their best sellers, the Essence Waterfull.
48
It's a chemical SPF and it feels so sulky, creamy, very hydrating.
49
I would say just because of the packaging, the brand image, it does feel a little bit more premium than the BOJ one.
50
And the finish is a lot more cleaner, should I say.
51
You do get a little whiff of alcohol, so I think it's the content evaporating to make the finish a lot nicer.
52
But the whole experience of using the sunscreen is really, really pleasant.
53
And so with that being said, this is also a little bit more expensive than the other ones
54
that I've mentioned but this is definitely a bestseller also at Olive Young
55
and the purple tone-up version is also very much raved by users just
56
because of the purple beautiful purple tone-up hue gives a very natural effect on the Asian Korean Asian yellowish undertone
57
that we have.
58
Now the verdict which one of these products do I actually recommend for you guys to check out?
59
I'd have to give it to BOJ just because the formulation and the pricing is so so good.
60
Now I've notice that they don't sell this anymore in the U.S just because of the FTC laws and whatnot.
61
But if you do come to Korea and you do get a chance, make sure to check these out first before proceeding onto the others.
62
Just because they're so cost-effective and they actually work.
63
So I have to actually give it to BOJ this round.
64
Next, we're round two, the mask showdown.
65
And you guys know the wrapping mask trend is going viral
66
in the U.S with the MediCube one at the forefront versus the Meta Peel one taking over in Korea.
67
Now both of these products are wrapping masks
68
which basically is a type of peel off mask where it goes on sticky slimy
69
and you wait a couple of minutes for it to dry
70
and you peel it off and you're left with that really really nice glove.
71
Now let's get into the nitty-gritty details.
72
First starting off with the Meta Cube one.
73
I've expressed my opinion on this specific product before and it is not good guys.
74
Mind you I love Meta Cube as a brand.
75
I love their devices.
76
I love the capsule creams.
77
They have so many hip products but this wrapping mask I just can't.
78
It was first it smelled so bad
79
when it peeled it up it felt really irritating
80
and third it didn't peel off in one piece it was hard to use
81
and I feel like it's a little bit more expensive than I thought it would offer like the value.
82
Also one of the things that I was most disappointed about this product is
83
that the glow once you take off the wrapping mask off it disappears.
84
I'm just like what was the point?
85
It's not like I'm gonna have the mask on the whole time.
86
Now I know the whole trend is you do your makeup on top of it
87
and whatnot but honestly that's majorly for content
88
no one's actually gonna have
89
that on on their daily life you guys know what i
90
mean versus the product that's getting more recognition in korea is the one by medipeel now i actually express
91
that i think the medipeel one is a lot more better than the medi cube one
92
and in korea nowadays i see a lot of instagrammers influencers pushing this
93
and it's actually good it's one of the products
94
that made me have a good image of wrapping mask and it was so fun.
95
I had a lot of fun with it.
96
I like the glow it left.
97
It didn't feel too irritating so I absolutely enjoyed using this one.
98
Also this one not only has a low molecular collagen ingredients in it
99
but it also has lactobacillus so a lot of great fermented ingredients.
100
So ta-da this one wins for sure.
101
I just think that it's with this product where I don't feel like my money went to waste.
102
Next the battle of PDRN.
103
Oh my gosh PDRN is still going strong.
104
The trend ingredient not only domestically
105
but also internationally it's kind of very interesting to see this phenomenon
106
so let's take a look at who's the leader in each
107
region first in the u.s you guys know the dr rijo
108
pdrn cream has the nation in a charcoal this is going
109
crazy viral in the u.s versus locally i think i still
110
have to give it to a rijo run this is a
111
rijo run turnover ample let's break it down one by one Now starting off with Dr. Rijuwal,
112
this brand was actually founded by pharmacists in Korea and it's actually also sold in pharmacies in Korea.
113
And with this specific PD-RN cream, it contains a 1200 ppm PD-RN, which they claim to be the optimal level of PD-RN to be put into cosmetic products.
114
And the formulation is almost like a gel type cream.
115
And oof, I just love the sensation where this gives, especially the finish it really moisturizes
116
and protects and creates that really nice fancy barrier when you're done applying it but it doesn't feel heavy at all.
117
It also has niacinamide as well as hyaluronic acid.
118
So it's got that whole nice package of amazing ingredients that we love versus this Rijuron.
119
Now I gotta say Rijuron is a brand
120
that has been around in Korea for a very long time
121
and they actually started in home shopping or infomercials should I say.
122
So they have a huge following amongst the mature generation i want to say 40s 50s
123
and then it was around i want to say like four
124
or five years ago that i started to see them in olive young
125
and try to reach out to the younger generations
126
and they're also the company
127
that actually made the ingredient rigeron that's used in the skin boosters rigeron
128
which is one of the most popular skin treatments
129
or procedures in korea right now so they have a huge heritage huge history
130
and just a lot of people in korea associate this brand with the OG PDRN or Rigeron ingredients.
131
So I think that's why a lot of people still reach out for this specific brand.
132
Now let's talk about this Ample because it is a bit more different.
133
This contains a 0.5% of C PDRN which is their patented PDRN and it's designed to support skin glow and repair.
134
And you can see the packaging is a bit more interesting.
135
So you have this little stick and so you turn it, you open it, and you pull on this little stick.
136
Well actually it's a very long stick and you take out the content.
137
Now the ampoule itself is even though it looks lightweight, it's actually kind of viscous and thick.
138
It's almost like putting on the essence from a sheet mask should I say.
139
It's kind of gunky and it kind of does seem to clump up if you're not careful.
140
So you gotta do a good job in spreading this out and applying it.
141
But with that being said, this is very hydrating, very moisturizing and so this has a huge following in Korea.
142
Now for this round, it was a bit harder for me to pick just
143
because the characteristics of these two brands and products are
144
so different for example this is a very light well gel
145
cream whereas this is a very viscous thick ass serums both have solid pd
146
or in it which i love
147
so this is more of a matter of what you need in your skincare routine
148
if you want a more of a lighter gel cream go for this one
149
if you want a thick viscous and vocal for this one last for the cream finale we're talking about barrier versus barrier.
150
In the US internationally, of course, we have the Dr. Arathia 345 cream
151
and then locally in korea we have the major mega hit
152
steady classic seller they store a 365 ato barrier cream let's
153
take a closer look at each one of them shall we
154
now with dr althea it's actually they don't have much of
155
a presence in korea either i think they're kind of starting to especially they're pushing their best seller this cream
156
and so i feel like they might gain more recognition with time in the the future
157
but as for now people don't really use dr lc not
158
that i'm aware of
159
but this cream i actually really do like first let's look
160
at the naming three four five cream they named it
161
so to indicate the number of ingredients certain ingredients they put in
162
so it's three ingredients for blemish care four ingredients for nourishing care
163
and five ingredients for soothing care
164
so it has niacinamide panthenic hyaluronic acid centella h cordata sarama mp lots of amazing ingredients
165
that we all love that's perfect for a really good skin barrier care.
166
Now as for the texture, I was a bit surprised to find that it was a bit more lightweight.
167
It has more of a gel cream type texture.
168
It's right between a gel and a normal regular cream
169
but it definitely is more of the lighter side and so with that being said, I do feel like this is more versatile and catering to a much more variety of different skin types.
170
Now let's take a look at the Atto Barrier one.
171
You guys know this is one of my favorites.
172
I used to really hate it when they upgraded it
173
but then I used it again
174
and i changed my mind i really love it with this
175
one they use long chain ceramides as well as cholesterol
176
and fatty acids and they actually formulated this cream to mimic our skin barriers layer lipid layer
177
so in this cream you see capsules of
178
which they named it the derm on technology
179
and these capsules they carry those delicious ingredients the ceramides fatty acids
180
and cholesterol to deliver all of those ingredients more effectively onto our skin i absolutely love this dearly.
181
This is very effective for skin barrier repairing
182
and it's one of my go-tos whenever I get a skin treatment and my skin's red, it's bleeding, I just dump this on and I'm good to go next day.
183
I absolutely love this and so many people in Korea love this as well.
184
It's just one of those creams that a lot of people just use without even asking anymore.
185
It's got a national status and I absolutely love this too bit.
186
So the verdict for this one was really really hard as well
187
because I do really like both of them just
188
because with the dr althea one it's a bit more lighter
189
so i feel like a lot more skin tips can get
190
away with it where with the estura one it's very specific it has a specific goal
191
and it's effective oh so i feel like this is
192
so hard guys do i have to pick i feel like just because just
193
because i've used this for a lot more longer time i'm gonna have to go with ato barrier
194
but the dr althea is really good as well all right
195
guys that's it for today's video let me Let me know in the comments down below
196
if you were shocked by which products were actually popular in Korea versus out in the US internationally.
197
And if you do have a preference, let me know which ones you will pick of each round.
198
Alright guys, make sure to give this video a thumbs up and I'll see you guys in my next.
199
Ciao!
