1
And Evelyn, I want to start today please by talking about accommodation and your living space.
2
Tell me, do you live in a house or an apartment?
3
I'm currently living in an apartment located in District 8.
4
I chose to live there because you know of the convenience.
5
It only takes me around 15 minutes to commute and also the rent prices is more affordable compared to other districts.
6
Absolutely, well then.
7
What's your favorite room in your home?
8
When it comes to choosing your favorite things, it usually has a sentimental value for me.
9
For example, the apartment I'm currently living, my favorite room is the kitchen, because whenever I feel sad, I would like to cook myself a good meal.
10
But in the house back in my hometown, my favorite room is the bedroom, because it's my childhood room and it also carries a lot of memories for me,
11
so it makes me feel safe.
12
Wonderful, well then.
13
Is there anything you would like to improve or change about your hook?
14
I'm actually planning to put a yellow light in my bedroom to make it look cosy.
15
So yeah, that's the only thing I want to improve.
16
Okay, brilliant.
17
Let's move on now to talk about reading and books.
18
Tell me, Evelyn, do you enjoy reading books in your free time?
19
I actually used to keep the habits of reading, especially before going to bed when I was a But as I grew up,
20
I prefer listening to music because I love having noise around me and it feels like white noise to me.
21
What was your favorite book when you were a child?
22
My favorite book when I was a child is the Vietnamese fairy tale.
23
It's a collection of legends and fact tales and fables and they are very famous.
24
And you can tell the story of a Vietnamese kid growing up, you know.
25
Could you give me an example of a book?
26
Example of a book?
27
I don't fully remember, but I can remember the appearance of the book.
28
It's covered by a blue, and also there are some people on the book.
29
Okay, well done.
30
Do you prefer reading physical printed books or ebooks?
31
I prefer the traditional books because I find them more aesthetic
32
because I'm a performative person and also I think it's actually good that you can touch the book's texture while you're reading.
33
Definitely.
34
Okay, well then.
35
Now let's move on to talk about numbers and science.
36
Evelyn, do you have a favourite number or a number that you consider lucky?
37
I do.
38
It's my birthday, 15th noble, and whenever I accidentally came across that number,
39
I think that my ancestors are encouraging me and they're telling me that I'm doing great and I should keep going.
40
That's nice.
41
Are you good at remembering telephone numbers or dates?
42
No, I'm actually bad at remembering numbers.
43
So that's the reason why I always forget my friend's birthday.
44
So, you know, I always strive a bit to, you know, note down the special days on my phone calendar to make sure that I won't miss any important occasions.
45
Brilliant, well done.
46
And the final question please for part one.
47
Did you enjoy studying science subjects when you were at school?
48
No, absolutely not.
49
To be honest my score at science subjects like math and physical, or physics, they are quite bad.
50
So yeah, I don't think that I am good at those subjects and I think, but I think it's good for you to you know develop your brains and also your logical thinking.
51
Well done, perfect.
52
And that brings us to the end of part one.
53
Well done, Evelyn.
54
We will now please move on to part two where I have prepared a question for you.
55
The question is, could you please describe an achievement that you feel proud of?
56
Sure.
57
So, Evelyn, that brings us to the end of the one minute.
58
When you're ready, please start now.
59
So, an achievement that I would like to talk about is the time when I got into UEH.
60
Yeah, I actually failed at the early admissions of UEH
61
and it was because of my carelessness in putting the chances of my majors.
62
My score was pretty high, so actually I didn't expect that result.
63
But I didn't receive the result, I was completely numb.
64
and after spending a day being sad, I decided to push myself back
65
and then I spent a lot of time studying with my friends to prepare for the national high school exam.
66
And I actually received a pretty good score and now I can finally call myself a UEHA.
67
Yeah.
68
So what I'm trying to say right now is not that I got into UEH, you know, like the moral of the story is
69
that I was not giving up on myself or planning on the mistakes
70
that I have made or like drowning into the mistakes.
71
So, you know, I think it's also a right attitude to have towards every challenging things
72
that you are facing in your life.
73
Like, you have to learn from your mistakes and then you keep going and don't stop believing in yourself.
74
And in the future, I hope that I will still keep
75
that attitude and keep trying to seek for more opportunities to develop myself, like a character development.
76
Fantastic, thank you so much.
77
Well done, thank you.
78
Good job.
79
Okay, Evelyn, thank you.
80
I really enjoyed that.
81
Let's move on to part three now, please.
82
And I want to continue with this topic of achievement, success and motivation.
83
Do you think that financial rewards are the most effective way to motivate employees?
84
Well, I don't think that money is the most important thing to motivate an employee to do their job harder.
85
I actually learned about this as I can remember in organizational behavior courses at my school.
86
And there's a theory that money is like kind of a high chain factor,
87
but it doesn't accessory make an employee to work harder or passionate more about their job.
88
I personally think that a recognition
89
or like a healthy work environment may be more important like
90
an employee can not you know an employee may feel more motivated
91
when they can you know be recognized by their boss their
92
by their boss not just a you know a bonus once a year.
93
Well then thank you.
94
Many young people now feel immense pressure to achieve high academic goals.
95
What do you think are the main causes of this pressure?
96
I think the main cause is the social media, I think.
97
And there's a thing called FOMO, the fear of missing out.
98
And you know, a lot of young people, they compare themselves to others.
99
Like they see their friends get a scholarship or get a high paying job. So yeah.
100
And also I think you know the family pressure is like one of the one of the things
101
that cause pressure on them like especially in Vietnam yeah that's
102
um you know uh a lot of parents they expect their children to to get into a prestigious companies
103
or like prestigious universities
104
so yeah I think that's a lot of pressure perfect thank
105
you moving on now let's think about the topic of cities
106
do you think it's important for cities to preserve their historic buildings and architecture
107
or should they replace them with modern high-rise buildings?
108
Well, I think that cities should try to preserve the historical buildings as much as possible
109
because it's kind of like the city's identity.
110
But I also think that the development and the preservation don't have to be a trade-off.
111
A lot of cities nowadays,
112
they are trying to restoring and reproposing on the buildings.
113
For example, like turning old buildings into a museum or like cafe.
114
So I think that the smartest cities are the ones that can balance the modern growth with their roots.
115
What are some of the negative effects of high levels of tourism?
116
And what effect can that have on local residents in a beautiful city?
117
I think that tourism definitely has a lot of negative effects because it drives off the cost of living,
118
like the rent and also the food prices goes up.
119
And I also think that the local life will be more inconvenient
120
because there will be more people in the city and also they cause traffic change.
121
Well done.
122
And the final question please, Evelyn, well done.
123
In your opinion, how important is it for city planners to include parks and green spaces when developing new urban areas?
124
I think green spaces is really important because it's helped people to relax and invite, which is good for your mental health,
125
and especially in a busy city.
126
Besides that, green spaces help observe the pollutions which will help reduce the climate change.
127
Brilliant, well done, thank you.
128
And that brings us to the end of the test.
129
Well done, good job, amazing.
130
How did you find that?
131
How do you feel?
132
Nervous.
133
I'm afraid that when I take the Rhe-Exam I will be, you know, go completely numb.
134
Yeah, mind go blank as well.
135
Yeah.
136
I'm really proud of you.
137
You've come across, I know you were nervous before, but you come across so confident and charismatic.
138
It really is amazing.
139
I'm really proud of you.
140
The fluency was fantastic.
141
There was a few ums in places, but overall the fluency was great.
142
Interestingly, I thought that your part one and your part three were the best.
143
I know you were particularly nervous about part three, but I thought your ideas and I know that you study
144
one of the top universities and I could feel
145
that you're using a lots of the vocab and phrases that you've been taught.
146
I'm really proud of you.
147
Well done.
148
Good job.
149
Okay, sure.
