シャドーイング練習: My first World Cup game - 動画で英語スピーキングを学ぶ

1
I saw this video of Speed starting a wave at a World Cup game.
2
I have always wanted to start a wave at a sports game and watching him do it made me just say, Okay, fine, I'll go to a World Cup game and try this.
3
There are two problems with this.
4
Number one, I have never watched a soccer game in my entire life.
5
And number two, I don't think this guy is going to be capable of convincing 70,000 people to do anything.
6
But there is a World Cup game today in Houston, Texas, which means I can drive to the game.
7
It's Brazil versus Japan and it looks like it's going to be awesome.
8
So without further ado, let's go start a wave at a World Cup soccer game.
9
The adventure of a lifetime has begun.
10
Bucket hat.
11
Jersey.
12
You got anything on the back of that?
13
Uh, it's blank.
14
Okay.
15
We are not even close to arriving to Houston and we've already made a stop at none other than Buc-ee's.
16
I bet there's gonna be lots of World Cup fans in here, excited to make the trek to Houston to NRG Stadium to watch Brazil vs Japan.
17
This is probably a good time to introduce you to my, uh, counterparts for this video.
18
Mitch!
19
Ah, again.
20
Dang, you got hops.
21
I jumped pretty high.
22
Hey!
23
No, you're not jumping higher than me.
24
On the Doerride Day 24-hour stream, there was a big debacle about who's jumping higher because we started chest bumping every hour for some reason.
25
There's proof I jumped higher.
26
Mitch's role today, driving the car and also keeping the vibes high.
27
Who else is here?
28
Easy peasy.
29
Yeah.
30
We didn't plan transitions very well.
31
Mitch and Cohen, you guys know these are my friends, they help me make the joyride videos, and this is really just a fun excuse to make joyride content so that we can go to the World Cup.
32
Mitch's idea.
33
What?
34
I'm here with...
35
Brandon.
36
Kara. And Tim.
37
Also going to the World Cup game, first time at Bucky's, welcome to Texas.
38
Thank you, thank you.
39
Who are you going for today in the game?
40
I think Japan.
41
Okay, me too then.
42
I don't know yet, actually.
43
I'm so indecisive.
44
Okay, well have fun at Bucky's.
45
I'll be following awkwardly.
46
Done.
47
If you've never been to Bucky's, buckle up, it's probably the best store.
48
This beaver's on everything.
49
Okay, first of all.
50
This beaver making salsa, this beaver making bean dip.
51
Business mogul.
52
What does a beaver know about coffee?
53
What do you do, Mitch?
54
There's a beaver with a soccer ball.
55
Oh my gosh, perfect.
56
It's perfect for the game.
57
Hey, watch this.
58
You got it?
59
Ready?
60
Yeah, yeah.
61
Wait, what?
62
Wait, why was that kind of good?
63
I thought you were about to do something.
64
Nah, I got no skills in the soccer department.
65
The only bad thing about Buc-ee's, the only bad thing is they don't have Joyride.
66
It breaks my heart.
67
It breaks my heart.
68
It breaks my heart, yo.
69
That's how I feel when a retailer doesn't carry Joyride.
70
What are we actually buying?
71
They got Prime in here, so they know about YouTube.
72
I've never heard someone speak on a mic in here.
73
Seeing some jerseys in Bucky's.
74
Exciting stuff.
75
Just to be clear, the USA is not playing at this game.
76
This was the only jersey I had access to, so.
77
I'm still open to supporting Brazil, I'm open to supporting Japan, we'll see.
78
I'm not seeing a bacon, egg, and cheese taco, I wonder.
79
Excuse me, do you guys sell bacon, egg and cheese tacos?
80
Ah, of course, thank you.
81
Going to the game?
82
Yes, sir.
83
Should I go for Brazil?
84
You should, you should.
85
Okay, they're gonna win it all?
86
Yes, sir.
87
We'll see, let's go.
88
I'll see you there.
89
I'm gonna get a bacon, egg and cheese taco.
90
You want one?
91
Yeah, I'll take one.
92
I'll get two then.
93
All right, they don't get much more American than this.
94
Cheers.
95
Taco!
96
Alright, we gotta hit the road y'all cause it's a long drive to Houston so let's hit the road.
97
So, we just stopped to get some coffee.
98
Cohen does not drink coffee.
99
I've basically never been drinking coffee in my entire life.
100
But we're about to do an official taste test right here.
101
Yeah, because they're forcing me to for the vlog.
102
Okay Well, they accidentally made this one for the record.
103
We didn't even buy it.
104
It's free.
105
So they basically gave it to me.
106
Yeah, so Okay, here we go.
107
Let's take a moment Bro that's trash What are you tasting?
108
I'm tasting coffee .
109
Quick pit stop at Target.
110
We're gonna be picking up some Joyride so people from other countries can try it for the first time.
111
How fun is it to be able to tell people this is American candy
112
and make them think that Joyride is already the number one candy in America, even though that's the goal.
113
Eventually.
114
Getting some party packs of the ropes to hand out to people, that'll be super fun, I'm gonna be really popular.
115
Also, fun fact, the sour rainbow strips now have six colors on them.
116
This is the before and this is the after.
117
We figured it out.
118
How cool is that?
119
No fake colors.
120
All right.
121
I'm ready.
122
Can I get a John?
123
Yeah.
124
Thank you.
125
You want anything?
126
Give me some sour zips.
127
Cohen's a fiend for these.
128
I'll get some fruity zips.
129
Last bag of fruity.
130
We made it!
131
We're here at NRG Stadium where Brazil is gonna play Japan, my first World Cup game, my first soccer game I've ever been to.
132
That guy over there is beating me for the coolest hat, in this parking lot anyway.
133
Behind me in this stadium, I'm gonna be starting the coolest wave of the entire World Cup.
134
Imagine this times 50,000.
135
Let's go to the security.
136
Nice, go, go.
137
I'm in.
138
Stay through.
139
On our way to our seats.
140
On the way.
141
On the way.
142
Going up.
143
On the way.
144
Exciting.
145
We're in Houston for the Brazil-Japan game.
146
Let's go.
147
Let's go.
148
Who's going to win?
149
Yes.
150
It was absolutely electric in that stadium.
151
And it's an hour before the game starts.
152
What?
153
I was down there one time.
154
One time I was on the field and I said, H!
155
H!
156
H!
157
The game is about to start and it looks like this stadium is about 90% Brazil fans.
158
Although I will say, even though the Japan fans are outnumbered, they are absolutely locked in.
159
I mean, look at these guys, they're having so much fun!
160
I know it's still early, but I think in my heart I'm rooting for Team Japan.
161
However, if I'm gonna get a wave going, I feel like I'm gonna have to be cheering for Brazil a little bit.
162
That's just the reality of the world I'm currently living in.
163
But as the national anthems are sung, and the people around me are singing along, I only have one thing on my mind.
164
Attempt number one at starting the wave.
165
Here we go!
166
Okay, so on the instant replay, it looks like we maybe got one guy.
167
Uh, yeah, I'm not sure if he was standing for the game or my wave.
168
So even saying we got one is a bit generous.
169
Everybody wants to do the wave, nobody wants to do what it takes.
170
This is my first time watching soccer.
171
When someone scores, it's going to be electric.
172
Everyone is very locked into watching this game, as they should be.
173
I think my best chance at starting a wave is if one of the teams score,
174
and then I can rally the people that are supporting that team to participate in a celebration of sorts.
175
If Brazil scores, I'm gonna invite everyone behind me to join me in a celebratory wave.
176
It seems possible.
177
Maybe they would do it without scoring.
178
We are currently having a hydration break, so a lot of people have just left, but I'm gonna see if we can start a wave anyway.
179
You guys wanna do a wave?
180
Alright.
181
Ah, one more time, one more time, we got this.
182
Hey, we'll get him next time.
183
Even that felt amazing, so I can't even imagine if we get the whole stadium.
184
Snack booooy.
185
Mitch, we're missing the game!
186
We're missing the game!
187
Hey, I got nachos though.
188
Aw, nice.
189
I kid you not, moments after this water, the unthinkable happened.
190
Japan scored a goal!
191
I was literally so excited I didn't even try to do the wave.
192
That's how excited I was.
193
Japan takes the lead!
194
It's halftime, y'all.
195
Halftime.
196
I thought this was the perfect opportunity to go to the concession area and get some chicken tenders and a souvenir cup.
197
Cohen also got a chicken tender meal and we cheersed our chicken tenders together.
198
He was honestly super yummy.
199
No regrets.
200
10 out of 10 chicken tinders.
201
Brazil just scored.
202
It's tied up one to one.
203
Now's my chance.
204
The only problem is everyone is already standing.
205
You guys want to do the wave?
206
You guys want to do the wave with me?
207
Anyone want to do the wave?
208
You guys want to do the wave?
209
Oh my god!
210
Oh my god!
211
No way, are you seeing this?
212
We're gonna do the wave on three, ready?
213
One, two, three!
214
Whoa!
215
Yes, yes!
216
Will you try again, try again?
217
One, two, three!
218
Oh!
219
Go, go, go!
220
Alright, one more try, one more try, on three.
221
One, two, three!
222
Oh my goodness, please tell me y'all saw that wave.
223
That was actually a substantial amount of people doing a wave in unison.
224
I'm starting to believe this is possible.
225
I know it wasn't much, but I felt something from that wave we just did.
226
I still believe!
227
I'm just gonna start spamming waves.
228
I'm done!
229
The game is almost over.
230
Woo!
231
Woo!
232
Woo!
233
Woo!
234
Woo!
235
What do you think I'm gonna get this wave?
236
You gotta get a rip sit.
237
You gotta keep trying.
238
Alright!
239
How do people do this?
240
I don't know.
241
I think you gotta wait for like a big moment.
242
There's only six minutes left in the game.
243
My last two attempts have been garbage.
244
Let's be honest.
245
It's now or never for the wave.
246
Let's do this.
247
Woo!
248
Woo!
249
Woo!
250
Woo!
251
Woo!
252
That's fun!
253
Woo!
254
Woo!
255
Woo!
256
Really, Mitch?
257
Really?
258
Not even my own friends want to do the wave with me.
259
This is so embarrassing.
260
We are now over 90 minutes in, and there has not been a single wave in this entire stadium.
261
If not me, then who?
262
Someone's gotta do it, man.
263
This stadium is frozen solid.
264
Everyone is locked in.
265
People are just chanting, which is honestly really fun as well.
266
I think I understand what's going on at this point, and this is a really good game.
267
And just like that, the game is over.
268
Brazil wins over Japan, and the only thing making me feel better about my 30-person wave is
269
that there was not a single successful wave in the entire building the whole game.
270
After the match, we went to the Fan Zone in Houston
271
and let a bunch of people wearing different jerseys try our Joyride party packs.
272
It was a lot of fun.
273
These party packs are one of our newest items from Joyride, so be sure to find them at Target.
274
They're on the top shelf.
275
If you buy a lot of Joyride anyway, it's a great way to get a good deal.
276
Thank you so much for watching.
277
I'll start a wave one day.
