In this video, we'll take a quick look at the season that follows.

As the season changes from summer to fall, the weather continues to get cooler and the hours of sunlight decrease each day.

As the leaves break down the chlorophyll, the leaves change colour and eventually fall off.

I guess that's why they call this season fall.

As the weather continues to become cooler,

some animals like bears, bats and squirrels prepare to go into hibernation.

This means they become inactive and don't eat or drink much to save energy.

They will continue to remain inactive through winter until the weather becomes warmer and there is more food available.

Other animals like birds and insects move to warmer weather.

This is called migration.

Fall is also the time of year when farmers harvest their crops of carrots, pumpkins and cauliflower.

As winter approaches, the weather gets even cooler and the days shorter.
