Once there was a little boy who loved candles.
2
He loved watching their gentle flames glow in the darkness.
3
One evening, he lit four candles in his room and watched them burn peacefully.
4
Then he went outside for some work, leaving the four candles behind.
5
The room became quiet.
6
After a while, the first candle and said, My name is Peace.
7
People no longer know how to live peacefully.
8
They argue, fight, and hurt one another every day.
9
I don't think I can stay lit much longer.
10
Its flame slowly became weaker, and peace went out.
11
A moment later, the second candle spoke.
12
My name is Faith.
13
Many people have stopped believing in goodness, honesty, and even in each other.
14
They only believe in what benefits them.
15
I feel like I am no longer needed.
16
Its flame flickered, and faith wet out.
17
Then the third candle spoke with a, My name is love.
18
People are too busy for me now.
19
They forget their families, ignore their friends, and sometimes hurt the very people who care about them most.
20
I don't have the strength to keep burning.
21
Its flame slowly faded, and love went out.
22
The room became darker and colder.
23
Only the fourth candle remained burning.
24
A little later, the boy returned.
25
As soon as he entered the room, he saw that three candles had gone out.
26
His eyes filled with tears.
27
Why are you gone?
28
He cried.
29
You were supposed to stay lit until the end.
30
The child looked around.
31
The darkness seemed to surround him and he felt afraid.
32
Then the fourth candle spoke.
33
Do not be afraid.
34
As long as I am still burning, we can light the others again.
35
The boy wiped away his tears and looked at the candle.
36
Who are you?
37
He asked.
38
The candle seemed to smile.
39
My name is Hope.
40
As long as I am alive, nothing is truly lost.
41
I can give you the strength to find peace again, to rebuild your faith, and to bring love back into your heart.
42
With tears still in his eyes, the boy picked up a small match.
43
He carefully used hope's flame to relight peace, then faith, then love.
44
One by one, the three candles came alive again.
45
Soon, all four candles were shining brightly.
46
The darkness disappeared, and the room was once again filled with warmth, light, and comfort.
47
The boy smiled.
48
Sometimes life can take away your peace.
49
It can weaken your faith and make your heart too tired to love.
50
There may be moments when everything around you feels dark and hopeless.
51
But never let hope go out.
52
Because as long as hope remains, you can find peace again.

54
Hope is the small light that tells you to keep going when you cannot yet see the way forward.
