1
One of the biggest things that I learned this year is to let things be.
2
Just let people go and don't chase answers.
3
Don't fight for closure.
4
It's not even worth it.
5
And never expect an explanation because people are just going to do whatever they want to do.
6
And a lot of the times it really doesn't have anything to do with you.
7
Even if they're making fun of you, it usually just has to do with something they're battling on
8
their own taking things personally is usually just a waste of time
9
and fills your mind up with a bunch of negative thoughts that you don't need to have.
10
Sometimes focusing on yourself is one of the best things you can do for other people
11
because when you're in a good mood and you have the things
12
that you need
13
and you're satiated it makes it to where you have more room to be generous to other people
14
and give to other people.
15
Just think about how you act towards other people whenever you're not in the best mood or not feeling that well.
16
If you're a nice person it's probably still decent but most of the time it's not the best.
17
So make sure you prioritize yourself so that you can prioritize other people.

About This Lesson

You're practicing English with "Always remember" using the Shadowing technique — a method originally developed for professional interpreter training.

Focus on sounding like the speaker — not just repeating words. With 15–30 minutes of daily practice, you'll build real-world speaking confidence.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
