I knew I wanted to be in the music industry.

I did not know what a pop star was at that time.

Yeah, because I would see them on stage, and everything looked so glamorous and fantastic.

I didn't really understand if I wanted to be that or doing shows on stage.

But I knew I wanted to get in there.

Now, is it true you grew up in New Zealand?

What was that like?

Yeah, so I went to school there from the age of 9 to 14.

Me, all I remember is when I first went, and I lived in a homestay too.

So my family weren't there.

And my mom told me I was crying for like the first two days.

And she was like, OK, she's too young.

It's not going to work.

She's like, Mom, I don't miss you anymore.

What was that experience like?
