I think community service is very important for students.

Last summer, I joined a community service activity with my classmates.

We went to a local park near our school.

First, we picked up litter around the park.

We collected plastic bottles, cans, and paper, and put them into rubbish bags and recycling bins.

Then we planted some young trees and watered the plants.

We wanted to make the park cleaner and greener.

My friends also donated old books and clothes to poor children.

Some students visited a nursing home and read books to old people.

The old people were very happy, and we felt happy too.

I think community service has many benefits.
