1
Vive coding leads people to think, I'm just going to go into Vives and accept all the changes that Cursor suggests.
2
And it's fine.
3
Sometimes you can do that and it works, but I wish it was that easy.
4
It's like a deeply intellectual exercise and I think the term Vive coding makes people think it's easier than it is.
5
So frankly, after a day of using AI-assisted coding, I'm exhausted mentally.
6
So I think of it as rapid engineering where AI is letting us build products much faster than ever before.
7
Do you think that's changing the nature of startups?
8
There's so many things that would have taken a team of six engineers, like three months to build.
9
Then now, today, one of my friends or I, we just build on a weekend.
10
And the fascinating thing I'm seeing is, if we think about building a startup, the core iteration of Loom is right software, and then the product managers will do user testing to decide how to improve the product.
11
The speed of coding is accelerating, the cost is falling.
12
Now that we can build, what do we want much faster, while the bottleneck is deciding what do we actually want to build.
