Today I want to talk about the supplier quality engineer.

The supplier quality engineer is important to manage the relationship with our suppliers in the company.

They have the responsibility, together with the purchasing department, to select the right suppliers for the company.

So the purchasing department, for example, will look at the price of the supplier,

while the quality guy will look at the quality level, of the supplier.

Is the supplier able to always deliver on a consistent basis, Good services and products to my company.

This is the question of the supplier quality engineer.

And how will they find it out?

They will go and visit the supplier,

they will audit them, they will establish what is their performance level and how reliable is this organization.

So they will do audits in order to come to conclusion about the maturity and the quality level

which the supplier is able to deliver.

If they are convinced, then they will also release the supplier.

That means give them permission to ship the parts to them and here they use tools like like as I said, audits, to say, okay, they have to pass,

the supplier has to pass an audit in order to be released, or some based on the product.

each specific product could be released by itself.

That means that they could use a tool like for example the P -Pub I will make a specific videos about this.

So that means a document which they signed together with the supplier, which serves as the acceptance approval of the company towards the supplier,

meaning Now, I trust you now, you have shown me all the evidence.

that your product Yes.

meeting the requirements so now I can allow you to shift to me your product.

Over the serious production, they will also monitor them.

That means they will Look at their performance.

Are they delivering on time?

Are they delivering the right quantities?

Are they delivering at the right quality level?

All of those issues they have to monitor.

So they will collect data and they will feedback this data

to the supplier to let them know if they're on the right way or on the wrong way.

Once there are problems, they have to handle them.

So in this case, They will issue complaints to the supplier, will tell them, hey, you didn't ship on time, you didn't ship enough, you didn't ship on the right quality level.

Now please Let me know how you will solve it as soon as possible.

So they will work together with the supplier on the problem solving

in order to stop the issue as soon as possible and protect your company from receiving more of those faulty products.

If the supplier is not good enough and see that the performance is dropping.

There might be also the need to develop the supplier.

That means put them in a specific program where they are monitored more carefully and more strictly

And there are a lot of follow -ups together with the supplier too

and follow up strictly if the supplier is able to meet the requirements and align with the suppliers

on the deliverables and maybe additional packages they have to do, work they have to do, training they have to do.

and investments they have to do in order to meet the requirements of your company.

So all in all And, uh.. global company with a lot of suppliers and a global supply chain networks,

supplier management, quality management is a very important role.
