1
What if I told you that almost everything that you've been taught about creating the life that you want is backwards?
2
See, most people spend their years trying to change their habits and their routines and their circumstances,
3
but those aren't usually the real underlying problem.
4
And they won't get what they want in life
5
because they're following a process that was never going to work in the first place.
6
And after coaching tens of thousands of people over the past decade,
7
I've realized that almost everyone who stuck is making the exact same mistakes without even realizing it.
8
So today I'm going to show you the four shifts
9
that completely changed the way that I think about success
10
and have helped thousands of people create the lives that they once thought were impossible.
11
So today I want to walk you through the process
12
that you will need if you actually want to create the life that you dream about.
13
And today is not going to be like rocket science, but you need this step-by-step process as a reminder.
14
Hell, you might need to listen to this episode every single morning to remind yourself of exactly what to do.
15
So let's dive in.
16
Number one is you need to disconnect completely from your past.
17
This is probably the biggest problem that I see when people are trying to create the life that they want.
18
People think that their past predicts their future.
19
They think that because they failed at something once before that that automatically means that they're going to fail again.
20
So why even try in the first place?
21
Because they had one bad relationship, I'm just always gonna have bad relationships.
22
Or because this person cheated on me, I can't trust anybody, everybody cheats.
23
Or because they had a business that they started and it didn't work in the past, they think, oh, I'm just not cut out to be an entrepreneur.
24
Or because they struggle with money at one point in time in their life, they think, oh, I'm always gonna struggle with money.
25
And I just wanna tell you that is complete bullshit.
26
Like I honestly do not care what happened in your past.
27
I don't.
28
I really don't.
29
Not because I don't care about you and what you've been through.
30
I care deeply.
31
But the reason why I say it is
32
because your past only has power over your future if you decide to keep dragging it with you, which is what everyone's doing.
33
I like to look at the past of like the wake of a boat.
34
When you turn around, you look at a boat.
35
It shows you where the boat has been but it doesn't steer the boat in any sort of way.
36
Like if you look at the wake, the wake cannot steer the boat, but everyone's going, oh, well, because of the fact that I've been here before and this happened to me in the past, that means it's going to happen again.
37
No, it doesn't.
38
You're the problem.
39
You have to disconnect mentally from the past.
40
The past is literally just information.
41
It's just data.
42
The most successful people in the world have like mild amnesia.
43
Like they forget their failures really quickly and they forget that they screwed up so much in the past.
44
They forget that they've been broke before and they forget about that bad relationship.
45
Like think about this for a second.
46
If you failed at a business five years ago, are you the same person that you were five years ago today?
47
Sure.
48
Hope not.
49
Right.
50
You've learned, you've grown, you've become wiser.
51
So why would you assume that the same version of you is going to create the exact same result?
52
Like it makes no sense.
53
And we will be right back.
54
Hey, real quick, let me interrupt you.
55
I'm doing a free live training called Break the Ceiling 2026.
56
This is for anyone who knows that they're capable of more, but just keeps hitting the same ceilings no matter how hard they try.
57
We're gonna get into exactly why that keeps happening and how to finally change forever so that your income, your relationships, your happiness, your life is better.
58
You can register for free by going ahead and scanning this QR code right here, or you can go to BreakTheCealing2026.com.
59
Once again, BreakTheCealing2026.com and I'll see you live on the workshop.
60
And now back to the show.
61
Just because you failed in a business in the past doesn't mean you're going to have a failed business in the future.
62
I have two failed businesses in the past before I got into the business I currently have now
63
and we've done over 25 million dollars over the past five years.
64
I just used my failures from the past to learn and make sure I didn't do them in this business.
65
Just because you've had a failed relationship in the past doesn't mean
66
that you're going to have a failed relationship in the future.
67
Just because you've been broke before doesn't mean that you will always be broke.
68
The past is data, but it literally means nothing in your future.
69
So stop giving your past so much attention and so much weight and so much importance.
70
The only thing that matters is did you learn?
71
Did you actually learn?
72
Because every failure, every mess up as just data.
73
And when you think about it that way, your failure then becomes wisdom.
74
Your failure is showing you what doesn't work so that you can learn how to become the person who eventually does succeed.
75
And the problem is that most people identify with their past instead of learning from it.
76
They don't say like, oh, I failed.
77
They think I'm a failure.
78
And those are two completely different things.
79
One of them is an event and the other one's an identity.
80
So stop confusing the two.
81
because if you keep believing that your past defines your future, you will stay stuck forever.
82
You'll never become something new, which isn't that why you're here?
83
Isn't that why you're listening to this podcast?
84
Because you're trying to become someone new.
85
And if you do not become somebody new, you will stay exactly where you are.
86
So that is the first and probably the most important thing
87
that you have to understand about creating the life that you want.
88
The second thing, My God, you just have to decide what you want.
89
Like it sounds so obvious, but like 99% of people that I talk to have absolutely no clue what the hell they want in their life.
90
Like they're like, I don't want to be poor anymore.
91
I want to make a little more money.
92
I want to lose a little bit more weight.
93
Like they don't know what they want.
94
They don't know what kind of life they want.
95
They don't know what kind of relationship they want.
96
They don't know how much money they want to make.
97
They don't know what kind of parent they want to be.
98
They don't know how they want to treat their children.
99
they don't know who they want to become.
100
They're just existing.
101
They're waking up, they're going to work, they're coming home, they're watching Netflix, they're going to sleep, and then just repeating it.
102
And then they wonder why five years of their life, like nothing has really changed.
103
Listen, I have lived that life before of just doing the same thing over and over again,
104
no real direction and I felt like my soul was just slowly withering away.
105
Humans need direction.
106
We need something to work towards.
107
We need to feel like we're moving in a direction that we want to go.
108
Progress equals happiness, as Tony Robbins always said.
109
When we have a destination that we're working towards and we're starting to progress towards it.
110
We feel good about ourselves.
111
We feel fulfilled.
112
We feel like we're going in the direction that we need to be going in.
113
It's not about achievement of the actual goal.
114
It's more so about, am I growing and actually progressing towards that goal?
115
Because most people are just drifting through life instead of designing their life.
116
If you don't decide where you're going, life will decide for you or your environment will decide for you
117
or other people's expectations will decide for you
118
or how social media is going to decide for you
119
because you're just going to follow the next path of what you think you should do.
120
You need a destination.
121
You need a North Star.
122
You need to know exactly where you are trying to go in your life.
123
And here's the key.
124
You want to get as detailed as you possibly can.
125
What does your ideal life look like?
126
Where do you live?
127
Who are you with?
128
What's your morning look like?
129
How do you feel when you wake up?
130
How much money are you making?
131
Who are you doing life with?
132
What are you doing every day?
133
How healthy are you?
134
How do people describe you?
135
How do you treat other people?
136
How do you treat yourself?
137
Like you need to paint a picture in your mind
138
that is so ridiculously clear that your brain knows exactly what it's aiming at
139
and so it can filter out what it doesn't need
140
and it can only let in the things that it actually needs
141
because if we're being honest for a second here
142
if you don't know where you're going
143
if you don't know where you're going how could you ever expect to get there right
144
so that's number two number three you would think that number three would be be, well, what do I need to do to get there?
145
Before we go into that, number three is you need to figure out who you need to become.
146
Once you know your destination, the next question becomes, who do I need to be to create that life?
147
This is where most people really get it backwards.
148
They think, well, I need to achieve the goal.
149
I need to become more confident and to become more disciplined.
150
I need to become more successful.
151
No, no, no. Really what you need to focus on
152
or anything else is the person that you need to become that can create that life.
153
If you want a different life, you are going to have to be somebody different.
154
There's no way around it.
155
You're going to have to be a different person.
156
And let me be clear, like you don't have to throw away every part of yourself.
157
Like there's some amazing things about you.
158
You can keep those, right?
159
Like keep your kindness, keep your sense of humor, keep your compassion, keep your love for other people,
160
keep the parts of yourself that you do love and you do want to bring into the future, those are like if you have a garden, those are the flowers in your garden.
161
You're not ripping out the flowers.
162
You want to keep those, right?
163
But there's also parts of you that have built a life that you're trying to leave behind.
164
There's parts of you that are keeping you stuck.
165
Those parts have to go.
166
Those are like the weeds in the garden.
167
So you've got to be like, what are the weeds that I need to pull?
168
I need to yank them, right?
169
The habits, the traits, the qualities, the negative self-talk, the sleeping in, whatever it might be.
170
And so you've got to ask yourself, what beliefs no longer serve the future that I'm trying to create?
171
Like what beliefs have I been holding on to that no longer serve me in this future that I'm trying to create?
172
What habits no longer serve me?
173
What habits are absolutely going to be holding me back into creating a life that I want to create?
174
What excuses do I need to stop making?
175
And you start becoming clear of like, these are the weeds that I need to pull.
176
And then you ask yourself, what qualities do I need to build within myself?
177
You might already have some of these qualities
178
and you might have some qualities that you need to build within yourself that you don't have at all.
179
Do I need more discipline?
180
Do I need more courage?
181
Do I need more patience?
182
Do I need more confidence?
183
Do I need to be more consistent?
184
If you want a different life, you're going to have to become a different person.
185
Not fully, not 100% different person, but you have to become a more,
186
I guess a better phrase is a more evolved version of who you are.
187
And with that evolution, some old parts need to probably die off, right?
188
So that's number three.
189
And then number four, you need to take the actions, right?
190
This is where everything becomes real.
191
You can't just, even though like modern manifestation says like, just close your eyes.
192
And if you believe it enough, it'll show up at your doorstep.
193
I've never seen that work for anybody.
194
The people who I know who have the life they want, who have everything they've ever wanted, they've had to work their ass off to get there.
195
They didn't just sit and meditate their way into becoming a multi-billionaire or somebody who has the relationships that they want.
196
No, like to be honest with you, I think that's people trying to avoid actually the actions need to be taken, right?
197
You have to decide, okay, here's where I'm going.
198
Here's who I need to be.
199
And then these are the actions I need to take.
200
once you've let go of your past and you know where you're going
201
and you know who you need to become the last question
202
is real simple what do I need to do what are the actions
203
that I need to do today not someday today
204
and every single day even
205
when I'm bored what needs to happen this week what needs to happen tomorrow morning
206
because dreams don't change your life you can't manifest a million in in your bank account.
207
I'm sorry.
208
Goals, those aren't going to change your life either.
209
Your vision board, it's not going to change your life.
210
Actions change your life.
211
Consistent, repeated, boring actions, day in, day out.
212
That's how you win the game of life.
213
The most successful people in this world have an extremely high tolerance
214
for doing the boring shit that nobody else wants to do for the next 10 years.
215
Like some people are like, yeah, I can do this for a while.
216
And then two weeks in, they're like, shiny object syndrome.
217
What's the next thing I could do?
218
No squirrel.
219
Well, there's a squirrel here.
220
And they're just chasing these squirrels all over.
221
It's like, no, you need to figure out what it is you need to do.
222
You need to do it day in, day out, nonstop, no matter how you feel.
223
And this is the thing that nobody wants to do.
224
Nobody wants to do the workouts.
225
Nobody wants to do the sales calls.
226
Nobody wants to do the studying.
227
Nobody wants to have the uncomfortable conversations.
228
Nobody wants to sit down and budget every single week at the end of the week.
229
Nobody wants to do the early mornings.
230
Nobody wants to do the journaling and the reading and the practicing.
231
But that's what changed your life.
232
You could do those things.
233
Everyone's like, yeah, I could do the journaling for the next 30 days.
234
I could do the workouts next 30 days, whatever it is.
235
But for the next five years, for the next 10 years,
236
like really dedicating yourself to the craft of becoming better in every aspect of your life
237
like the part
238
that i want you to remember around this is you don't
239
have to be perfect you don't have to get 3 650
240
perfect days until you finally get to where you want to
241
be in life you just need to keep going you need
242
to be as consistent as you possibly can like people overestimate what they can do in six months
243
and they're like oh i could have a million dollar business in six months
244
because I read an article about some guy who had a multi-billion dollar AI company in six months.
245
No, no, no. People massively overestimate what they can do in a few months, but they massively underestimate what they can do in five years,
246
10 years, 15 years.
247
And if you start and you just do not stop, you will eventually become the person that's capable of creating the life of the one.
248
If you just don't stop, you will outlast everybody.
249
Why?
250
Because almost everybody else, you can call them competition if you want to.
251
I don't really see other people's competition, but if you're in an industry, you might have some competition, right?
252
If you just don't give up and you just don't stop, you will win.
253
If you just are like a cockroach and you just don't die, you'll beat every other person and you will eventually get what you want.
254
maybe it takes longer than you expected.
255
In fact, it will take longer than you expected.
256
But when you finally get to whatever destination that you want, whatever you've been shooting for, it will be a hundred times better than you thought it was going to be.
257
It might take five times longer than you thought, but it will be a hundred times better. Who cares?
258
Keep going.
259
Because the only people who never really get to where they want in life are the people who give up, the people who quit, the ones who give up on what it is
260
that they want in life and they just settle for average.
261
They just settle for mediocre, settle for what they've always had.
262
But the people who just go, you know what?
263
I'm just going to figure out my destination.
264
I'm going to go for it.
265
I'm going to let go of my past.
266
I'm going to decide exactly where it is that I'm going.
267
I'm going to decide who I need to become to get there.
268
And I'm just going to show up every single day.
269
Those people get what they want in life.
270
And if you do that, if you keep moving, if you keep learning, if you keep growing, and if you refuse to quit,
271
no matter what happens, I honestly believe that there is no way that you won't get where you're trying to go.

FOR YOU

  • underlying problem(潛在問題)
  • drag it with you(拖著它不放)
  • mild amnesia(輕微健忘)
  • cut out to be(適合成為)
  • step-by-step process(分步過程)

這些短語在日常交流和雅思口語練習中都很常用,比如描述個人經歷時可以說“I used to drag my past failures with me, but now I know it's just data”,瞬間讓表達更地道。

攻克你的薄弱點

影片中的長句較多,比如“What if I told you that almost everything that you've been taught about creating the life that you want is backwards?”,其節奏和重音的處理是練習重點。
