1
Hey everyone, this is Alex from USAIDAZE.
2
So we're gonna go through 10 questions, most common questions that are asked during QA interview.
3
So I actually have 50 of those questions and answers in one file.
4
In this video I'm gonna go through the first 10
5
and just read the notes at the end kind of to summarize how you can prepare better for the interview.
6
But if you want to access to all 50 questions
7
and answers i'm gonna add it into my patreon the link is in the description for the video
8
and the tier one starts with two dollars a month
9
so it will be under the very first tier quality cadets so
10
and obviously going to be accessible to all other patrons here
11
it will be just a downloadable pdf files we have all the questions
12
and answers so let's go through the 10 first questions answers in this video okay
13
so this is actually my patreon page
14
and it's alexusa days again you can find it in the description for this video
15
so the questions
16
and answers going to be available right here with quality cadets was the very first year the whole 50 questions
17
and answers for the interview preparation all right for this video let's go ahead with the first 10 questions uh
18
so question number one and it's very often asked tell me about yourself
19
so it's expected that you're gonna generally kind of talk about you
20
uh the qa experience why well
21
so kind of to start the conversation to see you know
22
how well you're adequate you know how are you gonna fit
23
or not normally you just want to say
24
that i'm passionate about quality assurance
25
and i'm eager to explore new opportunities in the field i've worked as a q engineer both part -time
26
and full -time or either one or maybe you did qa freelance
27
and i'm dedicated to continuous learning and improvement
28
so it's just kind of a general introduction kind of sanity
29
check right uh second question why are you looking for a new opportunity this is not a sanity check to see
30
if you're going to be a good fit like what is
31
the real reason why you're looking for a new job
32
if you like got fired or anything like
33
that again very general question you want to provide like very
34
general answer uh you want to say my current role lacks gross opportunities
35
and my qa contract is ending without an extension or something to
36
that sort so maybe you're just looking for new opportunities
37
or your contract is expired there's no extension i'm actively seeking
38
a company where i can continue to enhance my skills and contribute to quality software development.
39
Then one of the questions they might ask why us?
40
So why our company?
41
Normally you want to say something good about the industry, that you're involved in the industry, you're familiar with the industry, you're interested in it.
42
So I would answer that I have a genuine interest in your products
43
and have thoroughly researched your company's mission and culture on your website.
44
It aligns with my values and I believe I can make meaningful contribution here.
45
all right another thing that is normally asked like where do you see yourself in five years
46
this is a question
47
that could be a little bit tricky for some people they think okay you know I start as QA engineer
48
and then I'm going to be a developer or I'm going to be a QA manager
49
don't really go there what is most of the time is expected from this question
50
if you're committed to the QA field if you're going to work in the QA field.
51
So something in terms of, you know, I'm still going to work as a QA, just going to grow my experience as a QA engineer is totally accepted response.
52
So I would say in five years, I envisioned myself as a senior QA engineer with an expanded skill set.
53
I'm committed to continuous growth in the field and contributing to the success of the company.
54
That's pretty much it.
55
Question number five, tell me about your debugging process
56
so my debugging process involves identifying the issue isolating the problem
57
and providing detailed information to the development team to reproduce the problem uh one of the approaches
58
that you might want to use when you're debugging something
59
if it's a complex issue you're going to break these issues
60
in the smaller parts until you kind of identify the root cause okay
61
why choose QA and what do you love about it
62
or in general why choose QA right so you can say
63
that I transitioned into full -time QA work after enjoying it as a part -time freelancer
64
so for example you worked on one of the web pages
65
that I provide in my video on how to get QA experience
66
so maybe like you worked at the you test you can
67
say I worked at you test as a part -time as a gig I really enjoyed it
68
and I decided to make it my full -time career right
69
What I love about QA is the analytical and problem -solving aspects.
70
It's like solving puzzles to ensure product quality.
71
I also like making an impact and improving product quality.
72
So it's always good if you contribute to something and you feel like you're making a difference.
73
Tell me about positive -negative testing.
74
So question number seven.
75
Positive testing checks if a system performs as expected under normal conditions,
76
while negative testing examines how the system handles unexpected or invalid inputs or conditions.
77
For example, a positive test case would be creating an account with expected password complexity.
78
So, you know, at least eight characters, one capital letter, like one special symbol, one number.
79
A negative test case would be creating an account with a password that does not match minimum character length.
80
So attempting to create an account that requires eight characters and a password, and you provide only seven, right?
81
That would be a negative guess.
82
Tell me about end -to -end testing.
83
So what is end -to -end testing, right?
84
End -to -end testing evaluates the entire system
85
or application by focusing on user scenarios to ensure all integrated components work together seamlessly.
86
For example, buying products on Amazon.
87
That would include login, product search, adding it to the card, successful checkout, and order confirmation.
88
Tell me about regression testing.
89
Regression testing involves retesting the existing functionality to ensure recent changes haven't introduced any new defects or affected existing features.
90
normally qa would be expected to build a comprehensive regression test suite
91
that would run on new deployments so something
92
that you go over to make sure
93
that all your critical functionality is still in place everything working as expected
94
and the last one that we're going to cover in the video tell me about your team
95
so you can say i have had privilege of working with diverse teams
96
and a value effective communication collaboration
97
and knowledge sharing to achieve common goals you can talk about your team composition
98
so how many qa engineers are there how many developers what
99
is your management like is there a qa lead is a
100
qa manager what is do you work with like product manager
101
or business analyst uh
102
if you're doing like qa freelance stuff you can say i'm the whole team is kind of on the freelance
103
and we're managed through this application and uh you know we get assigned tasks
104
and test cases we're looking for bugs
105
and test scenarios you have to run through
106
and you can mention like sort of products that you actually worked on
107
so it's just kind of general discussion of your experience in team composition to kind of see
108
if you know you you know what you're talking about all right
109
so this is the questions we covered in the video uh the rest 40 questions
110
so total 50 questions is going to be available in my
111
patreon the link in the description it's the same name as the channel
112
so alexusa days now let's go to the summary here
113
so for the summary I just wanted to note something
114
so one thing that I want you to remember is to be friendly
115
and smile during interview so go ahead and prepare yourself for the interview like
116
if you know that you get nervous if you feel
117
that okay you know I'm stressed out a little bit just go
118
and stay in front of a mirror
119
and say hi you know smile to yourself a little bit just feel kind of feel the positivity um
120
so it's going to help it's definitely going to help so
121
normally it's expected
122
that you know qa person is going to be a long
123
-term addition to the team to the culture to the process
124
so they want someone who will be a good fit uh who would be a positive if it contributed to the team, will be working well as a team.
125
So smiling definitely helps.
126
Now, you can practice in front of a mirror prior to the interview.
127
So no joke, just go ahead and practice.
128
Another thing that is important, if you do stress out a lot, like preparing to the interview process and you get worried during the interview,
129
try to somehow work that out.
130
I suggest just do meditation.
131
Spend 15 minutes before the actual interview, kind of meditate, relax, or do something that you find relaxing, kind of ease your mind.
132
It's going to help you with your communication.
133
It's going to help you with your soft skills.
134
It's going to help you to focus answering the questions.
135
And if you're going to be overly too nervous during the interview process, it's just going to might kill the vibe.
136
And team is not going to proceed with you just because you were just too stressed out during the interview.
137
So just take some time to actually ease and relax a little bit.
138
and the last thing but it's I think it's very important
139
because it can be like a determining question during the interview process.
140
You might get asked about the company.
141
So they're kind of deciding, okay, you look good.
142
Even if you go through the whole interview process and you answered everything good and technical side of all the terminologies, they'll ask you, so what do you think about our company?
143
What do you think about the product?
144
Do you like our mission?
145
Do you like our values? and if they'll see that you never actually went to their webpage, you didn't take time to read about the company,
146
you didn't take time to read about the product, you didn't spend time learning the values, the culture, just that might be like a big no because you didn't spend time.
147
The team will feel that you didn't spend enough effort figuring out what you're going to work on.
148
You didn't prepare yourself enough for the interview.
149
so make sure
150
when you go on an interview check the company's web page
151
read about the company what they do what their core values
152
if there's like a a special statement that they have out something
153
that they feel that's important so uh just be aware of it okay
154
so hopefully it is helpful this was alex you say days thanks for watching and bye bye
