namo buddhaya welcome and welcome back to another video today i want to talk about something
2
really important for all of our lives especially in these days
3
and that is the things
4
that we should not speak with others according to buddha's teachings now at first you might be thinking well
5
i'm not a buddhist
6
so why should i care about these things here's the thing
7
these principles can be applied to anyone's life regardless of their religion or belief system so that is why
8
these speeches are called for unwholesome speeches that is what buddha said about these speeches
9
four unwholesome speeches
10
so without any further ado let's dive in first of all
11
we have lying now buddha said stay away from lying now i know we all have said white lies here
12
and there in all of our lives right
13
but whether it is a white lie whether it is a black lie gray lie
14
or a red lie no matter what the lie is lying itself can be
15
so harmful for all of our lives why is that
16
when you lie it destroys your trust
17
when you lie it destroys your character right so that is why it is very important to have trust between people.
18
In our daily relationships between people,
19
the most important component of a happy relationship is the trust.
20
So that is why Buddha said, live a truthful life.
21
And it is very important to have that transparency
22
and honesty in our relationships so the first thing
23
that we have to stay away from is lying
24
and next we have divisive speech what do you mean by
25
divisive speech divisive speech is all about creating drama between people
26
or creating conflicts between people using your words right it can be gossiping
27
or it can be talking behind someone's back right
28
i must say that when you talk these words or
29
when you use this divisive speech it is not a good thing for your life
30
and and also it is not a good thing for other people's relationships
31
so buddha said do not use this divisive speech do not break the relationships between people using your words
32
most of the time we use the divisive speech out of jealousy or out of anger so that is why
33
it's very important to stay away from divisive speech.
34
And the third one is Buddha said,
35
stay away from harsh speech.
36
Now, when someone is calling you or when someone is treating you with rude words,
37
how do you feel?
38
Now we all have been in this receiving end of such speeches, no?
39
How did you feel?
40
We felt sad, we felt depressed,
41
we felt down about ourselves.
42
So that is why Buddha said,
43
do not use your words to put someone down, right?
44
Do not use your words out of anger.
45
This is all about criticizing and name calling and putting someone else down with your words, right?
46
So Buddha said, stay away from harsh speech.
47
And finally, Buddha said, stay away from idle chatter.
48
What do you mean by idle chatter?
49
Idle chatter is all about speaking meaningless or useless things, right?
50
Now, that doesn't say that we cannot have a small chat or a fun talk with people.
51
We can do that, but we have to know where our limit is in our speech, right?
52
We have to set the boundaries in our speech, right?
53
We have to know where our speech become unproductive, right?
54
When you use these words,
55
when you use your words in a meaningful way,
56
you can create a positive life and you can create a positive emotions
57
or positive positive feelings in others lives too right
58
so these are the four unwholesome speeches that we have to stay away from
59
that our great teacher supreme buddha taught us according to the buddha's teachings right so why all these things matter?
60
Why these unwholesome speeches matter in our life?
61
Well, Buddha said, the words that we speak can create either positive or negative karma in our life.
62
Do not think lightly about this karma, right?
63
You have to be very careful about the karma.
64
So the intention behind your words really matters in your life.
65
And that is why we have to use our words
66
wisely because it can make a huge impact in our lives as well as in others lives too.
67
So words that we speak are like a knife, right?
68
You can use the knife to cut something useful, right?
69
And also you can use the knife to kill someone else.
70
So let's use our words to create a better life for ourselves and for others.
71
So thank you for tuning in.
72
I hope you got some food for thought for your life.
73
So until next time, I wish you all,
74
may all of you be well and happy and may all of you live in peace forever.
75
Namo Buddhaya.

  • This is all about...(这完全是关于……):用于引导听众理解某种行为的核心意义。
  • Do not use your words to...(不要用你的言语去……):强调语言的力量和选择如何使用它的重要性。
  • Creating drama between people...(在人与人之间制造冲突……):强调言语对于人际关系的影响。
