2
the weather is just perfect outside, and there are so many things to do with your family.
3
So in today's video, you will learn some English related to the fall
4
and also find out what Americans do during the fall.
5
Hi friends, welcome back to English Every Day, a podcast where I speak in slow,
6
easy, and understandable English so that you can learn every day.
7
Because if you want to learn English, you have to keep going.
8
Don't stop.
9
Keep going, don't stop.
10
Today, we are talking about the fall.
11
I want to tell you five things that Americans do in the fall.
12
Number one, go apple picking.
13
I think people in many countries do this.
14
They go to an apple farm
15
and they pick apples they take the apples off the trees
16
and of course they eat them later kids love going apple
17
picking it's a great time for the family to spend time together
18
and do something fun you know you go for a walk
19
with your family the sun is shining the weather is very nice a little chilly,
20
a little cold, a little chilly, but the perfect weather.
21
In English, we have this phrase called sweater weather.
22
Repeat after me.
23
Sweather weather.
24
Sweather weather.
25
Sweather weather is where the temperature is just right, that you can put on a sweater and feel good, feel warm.
26
So can also buy something like an apple pie or apple cider
27
which is a drink or cider donuts which oh my gosh they taste
28
so good i can't next up number two americans love to
29
watch football in the fall man this is my favorite part of the fall is
30
that there is always football on the tv you guys know you know already
31
but american football is my favorite sport in the whole world i love it so much
32
and every sunday in the fall has football all day long during the fall sunday is my favorite day
33
because there's just football on all day there's football
34
that you can watch and oh it's an amazing sport
35
and americans all across america love watching football also on saturday
36
is college football that's where the college teams they play against each other that's college football
37
and on sunday is professional football nfl national football league number
38
three in the fall americans like to go to haunted houses or haunted hayrides.
39
A haunted house is a house where you go in and people scare you.
40
So they put on masks, they put on costumes, scary costumes, and they scare you.
41
And a haunted hayride is where you sit in some kind of vehicle.
42
You sit in a moving car or a truck or some kind of vehicle and there are so many decorations around.
43
There are scary decorations, there are fall decorations,
44
there are Halloween decorations and people jump out and they try to scare you.
45
This is also very popular with families.
46
Kids love this because well, it's scary, right?
47
It's also fun.
48
It's, wow, what?
49
It's a lot of things.
50
So it's another great opportunity for families to get together and have some fun.
51
So Americans love to go to haunted houses or haunted hayrides.
52
If you are a person that gets scared really easily, you can say, I scare really easily.
53
Oh my gosh, I don't like going to haunted houses because I scare really easily.
54
Number four, why do Americans like scary things during the fall?
55
Why do they like going to scary places or being scared during the fall?
56
And that is because Americans have something called Halloween.
57
Do you know what Halloween is?
58
Halloween is a holiday that happens every year on October 31st where everybody dresses up.
59
That means they put on costumes, they wear masks.
60
you know some people are spider -man some people batman some
61
people football players some baseball players some people nurses some people
62
teachers anyway a lot of people dress up they put on their costumes
63
and then they go trick or treating trick -or -treating is for kids really
64
and it's where the kids walk around the neighborhood
65
and they knock on doors and they say trick -or -treat and whoever lives at that house hands out, hands out candy to the kids.
66
So all the kids, they say trick or treat.
67
And a trick is like a deception where you deceive someone or maybe you want to fool someone.
68
So some examples, you can do a magic trick, maybe with some cards, right?
69
You guess the card that the other person was thinking so magicians do magic tricks.
70
Your dog can also do a trick.
71
Maybe your dog can jump or something.
72
Those are some tricks.
73
A trick is like fooling someone and a treat is a reward.
74
So on Halloween, treats are usually sweets.
75
They're candies, chocolate, etc, etc.
76
So the kids knock on the door they say trick
77
or treat and then the owner of the house the person
78
that lives there gives the kids candy
79
and at the end of the day the kids eat the candy
80
and they go crazy during halloween teenagers like to play pranks an example of a prank is taking an egg
81
and throwing it at somebody's house maybe that person didn't give you candy
82
so you'll throw the egg at their house or maybe some toilet paper.
83
That is a prank and teenagers like to do this in America on Halloween.
84
And number five, almost every American celebrates Thanksgiving.
85
Thanksgiving is where you get together, you eat food with your family, you spend the whole day eating food
86
and watching football it is a holiday in America you don't
87
have school you don't have work you can just eat with
88
your family watch the television on Thanksgiving American football is played
89
so me in America I love Thanksgiving because I can eat a lot
90
and then watch football and play football with my cousins
91
or my family and just relax de -stress de -stress I'm not stressed I de -stress and I unwind.
92
To unwind is to relax.
93
You can unwind and just enjoy the day.
94
So those are five things that Americans love to do during the fall.
95
Happy fall to you all.
96
I hope that this season brings you a lot of happiness
97
and joy and you learn a lot of English during the fall of 2026.

关于本课

您正在使用跟读技巧通过视频"5 Things Americans Do in the Fall 🍂 | English Every Day 🇺🇸 (A2-B2)"练习英语口语和发音。
