1
I'm giving you guys the juice, the recipe, the answers, and the questions.
2
Come on, so you guys can begin those careers of yours, you know?
3
Come on!
4
I keep messing up.
5
Okay, okay.
6
Where was I?
7
Okay, as you guys know, and you guys have been following me for a few years, thank you guys so much for your loyalty.
8
I've interviewed with many different companies,
9
many inpatient hospitals many outpatient laboratories from lab court to quest
10
sharps hospital kaiser hospital i can just name drop all day
11
but i'm not going to do that i am here for you
12
and you only
13
and each one of those job interviews i got the job
14
a few companies i had to turn down due to actually two companies
15
that turned down due to the pay and or the driving distance.
16
Other than that, I got hired at so many jobs.
17
So I'm going to share with you the interview questions that they all have in common and the questions they asked me.
18
Okay, let's begin.
19
question number one tell us a little about yourself okay do
20
not tell them more than what they need to know
21
so let's say you're a single parent or you're a single mom
22
or like there's just certain details
23
that you just leave out it's none of their business
24
and i told them a little about myself things that i'm interested in my life achievements
25
things like that you don't want to share like overshare
26
and just keep it simple my name is Jasmine I go
27
by jazz all my colleagues my friends my family call me
28
jazz all my downtime I love to read I love to
29
cook I love to go hiking I love to sing song
30
write I like to volunteer at church mission work just stuff like
31
that tell us a problem that happened at your previous job and what did you do about it?
32
So I gave an example of patient wait times, how sometimes the patient will come early in the morning due to time tests and fasting.
33
So the patient's hangry, right?
34
The patient wants juice, they want their breakfast.
35
Sometimes the wait times are not on time and they're slow, which causes the patient to get upset.
36
So I provided that being an issue
37
and what I did about it was I gave the patient positive feedback and I calmed the patient down.
38
Why should we hire you for this position?
39
I told them that it's always a passion of mine to help others
40
and serve our community and by helping others in the process of diagnosing a patient is fulfilling to me.
41
I have the highest regard for the laboratory
42
because lab test results is 90 to 95 percent how doctors treat and diagnose their patients.
43
cheese still shot next question what is the most important to you as a phlebotomist cleanliness
44
and an inviting positive personality forgive me guys i need to take a break
45
i'm back okay so yeah going back to what is the most important to you as a phlebotomist
46
cleanliness and a positive attitude you guys i'm gonna ask a rhetorical question
47
and you can answer it in your mind so
48
when you go to a lab corp or a quest
49
or any outpatient to draw your blood
50
or clinic what are the first two things you you notice
51
like us as humans just notice we notice a person's attitude notice
52
if it's clean off the rip off the bat we notice
53
a person's attitude and we notice if it's clean right those are the top two
54
logically like speaking those are the top two factors when you walk into a a clinic or a medical facility.
55
Those are the most important, I would say.
56
And I gave my answer.
57
I gave examples of what cleanliness looks like and should be and how it should be kept up.
58
And I also gave an example of how a positive attitude
59
of a phlebotomist can go a long way in regards to them coming back and giving you a great rating.
60
I remember that question with a quest interview, the lab quest.
61
It was two interviewers, two interviewers, and they were very impressed.
62
It was on zoom.
63
They were very impressed with that, that answer.
64
Um, so if I were you you know I'm kidding I would say
65
that no um but that is an honest that's honest
66
and it's truthful right um so it's just something to think about
67
when asked that question what would you do if there's a problem
68
that arises between you and a co-worker I told them I had no issues in the past
69
or previous with any co-worker and if I ever did I would immediately approach my supervisor and ask for a mediation.
70
What is the most important step before you draw blood?
71
I said the most important step before the blood draw is identifying that patient.
72
So make sure that name, the first name, last name matches, and the date of birth matches.
73
Most important.
74
Next.
75
What test tube color does an APT test go into?
76
What test tube color does a CBC go into?
77
What test tube color is for a chemistry test and name a test for chemistry?
78
Oh, here's the answers in the order of draw.
79
An APT, light blue top, and that's the first tube.
80
Chemistry test, an example could be a lipid test, which is a gold top tiger top tube.
81
CBC, a lavender tube.
82
What test tube color goes into a glucose blood test?
83
So a glucose blood test can be timed.
84
It's a time test or it's not.
85
It depends on the doctor's orders.
86
A patient should be fasting and it goes into a gray top tube.
87
I also explain how outpatient versus inpatient tubes are different and
88
so it all depends on if you work in a hospital inpatient
89
or if you work in an outpatient facility they're all different facilities
90
and some outpatient
91
and inpatient they do vary regarding their test tube color for
92
certain tests also it just depends on the lab depends on the facility you're working with with specific tests
93
and requirements so and I let them know that
94
and I let them know I'm a fast learner
95
so whatever your requirements are please teach me I'll make a note of it
96
and I'll learn it and I won't mess up why should we choose you out of the many applicants
97
that's your time to shine.
98
So don't think, just be prepared in what you're going to say.
99
Be confident in what you're going to say.
100
Do not be nervous.
101
You want to get chosen, right?
102
So turn it on.
103
Turn it on.
104
Turn it on.
105
I said I'm reliable I've had experience with both outpatient
106
and impatient drawing 30 to 100 patients daily
107
and I'm the girl you call for hard stick draws I'm not afraid I'm not shy I will get
108
that blood on time and I'll always have a positive attitude
109
and a kind attitude To make my patient feel more comfortable with me sticking them.
110
Poking them.
111
Drawing their blood.
112
And most importantly, patient care is the most important to me.
113
I will go above and beyond for them.
114
Choose me.
115
I will not let you down. So that was mine.
116
That was my why should we choose you?
117
You know, I'm speaking on my own experience.
118
You guys aren't me.
119
So of course you guys, it will be different.
120
Your response, your responses to certain things will be different.
121
And I want that.
122
And I want you to be truthful and I want you to provide those facts.
123
And why should they hire you?
124
You know, like answer that truthfully and confidently.
125
You got this.
126
Why do you want to work for our company?
127
Just say anything positive about that company other than the benefits and the pay.
128
So do your research on the company, anything positive.
129
Give me an example of when you helped out a coworker.
130
and I said if the CNA when I worked in a hospital
131
and I had to go in a patient's room to draw their blood I said
132
if the CNA wasn't available I would meet all the needs of the patient
133
if they needed anything by bringing them water by calling cafeteria for food
134
anything blankets hot blankets for them I'd go and be I'll go above and beyond just for them
135
So I gave another example.
136
Let's say because I did work in a hospital, let's say you didn't.
137
There can be times where I gave an example of myself too, but this can be relatable if you didn't work in a hospital.
138
If a co-worker is drawing a toddler or an infant and they're antsy,
139
you can always go and help them out or always go and try to calm the child down.
140
I gave an example of me helping out a new hire.
141
So the phlebotomist was new and she was nervous herself drawing on a toddler and the toddler was antsy.
142
I just went over, I helped her out, I grabbed a heal warmer so I can place it on the toddler's AC area.
143
and I calmed the toddler down.
144
I talked her through it.
145
I talked the parents through it.
146
If they can bear hug the toddler and I asked permission if I can hold the toddler's arm
147
while my co-worker draws the blood just so the toddler won't hurt my co-worker.
148
What is the most challenging in this job field for you
149
or give me an example of something challenging
150
and I said it's challenging for for me not to continue
151
a conversation even though it's gone past the time allowed for me to draw I know that's bad to say
152
but I've said it every time which is true like
153
if a patient talks to me I will talk to them back and I will continue a conversation and I would
154
do my best to form a bond and a connection with them just
155
so they can ask for jasmine like can i get jasmine to poke me you know
156
so i can just continue
157
that bond with the patient they trust me i'm a great conversationalist what do you do
158
when you encounter a hard stick patient you offer them water and if they are limited on their water intake
159
you then get a heel warmer.
160
A heel warmer to place it on your site of draw.
161
So you're going to find where you want to draw.
162
And then you place that heel warmer on that site for at least two minutes.
163
If they're really hard, five minutes, four minutes.
164
And if you ran out of those, you can get a large glove and fill it with warm water or a heating pad.
165
And you can leave it on the site.
166
Let's see if you don't have the heel warmers.
167
You can get a large glove and just fill it up.
168
Tie it like a balloon.
169
Just place it on there.
170
That works really well.
171
And if it's a hard stick patient, I always tie Coban around their arm.
172
Right above the site that I'm drawing.
173
And I'm going to tie that tourniquet because the tourniquet needs to be tighter than usual.
174
So I'm going to tie that tourniquet on top of the Coban
175
so it doesn't hurt the patient because
176
that tourniquet is going to be tight trust me you need it tight
177
so i also do that and that helps a lot a lot a lot
178
and those veins will pop up right after you put
179
that heating the heating um heel warmer on it
180
or the heated heated glove um on that vein and
181
that concludes the video you guys i was getting like hot i had to like take a break earlier
182
so from various companies these are the top questions you will be asked in your phlebotomy
183
or lab assistant interview i got hired from each and every company with these exact answers
184
again disclaimer by providing these exact answers does not mean you will get hired
185
but i'm just just letting you know my situation and I got hired.
186
I made this video because in my previous videos I did not provide the answers
187
and I had everybody asking me so what's the answers?
188
What did you say?
189
So I'm making a video with the questions and the answers.
190
Here you are
191
because it's really challenging to keep replying to like a lot of people
192
and I feel horrible because I can't get back to some of you guys.
193
So I'm just making this and hopefully you guys will take notes.
194
And this is all for you.
195
This is all for you.
196
This is all for you.
197
You got this.
198
You can do this.
199
Have a great bubbly personality too.
200
That goes far, you guys.
201
I'm telling you a personality, your personality will get you far like be inviting
202
and be grateful be appreciative you know just be excited
203
that you woke up you have drinking water you have air
204
you have food you know you got a call for an
205
interview like just just you know
206
turn it on no um
207
yeah just turn it on good luck in
208
your career field you guys got this i'm proud of you
209
and thank you so much for asking questions and providing feedback and I really do appreciate it.
210

211
We just pass on information and we share our life experiences.
212
So this is an informational video and good luck on your career choice and career path and
213
go above and beyond for your patient and go above and beyond for yourself.
214
thank you guys have a blessed day i keep messing up
视频中说话者的语气自然,带有口语化的停顿和重复(如“Come on, so you guys…”),适合作为shadow speak的素材。练习时注意以下几点:
1. 模仿连读:如“due to”“turn down”,连读时弱化“to”和“down”的尾音。
