Our research is mostly based on reports from South Korea's National Intelligence Service, NIS, on an extensive visual analysis of thousands of hours of North Korean state TV,

and on one curious interview.

Former basketball star Dennis Rodman has just returned from a trip to North Korea.

He has visited Kim Jong-un and his family and talks about his experience in an interview with The Guardian.

Since early 2013, the two have maintained an unlikely friendship.
