1
I've always been too afraid to tell people how I truly feel.
2
It's like, I've always been the kind of person to be very reserved, very observant, and always, you know,
3
internally moving and thinking, but never really saying a lot.
4
And I guess these videos is really me letting go or trying to not be that kind of person, but even then I'm still that person.
5
And I'm really careful with who I decide to open up to, with who I decide to speak to.
6
And I guess it's weird because it's harder for me to open up to anyone in real life.
7
And it's easier for me to record these videos and just say how I feel.
8
But talking to someone or telling someone how you feel, it's harder.
9
it's harder to be in front of someone and look them in the eyes and say, you know, you feel a certain way, or, you know, you've been going through something, or whatever it is.
10
And I've never really done that.
11
Never really told anyone.
12
And it's not like I'm going through things right now.
13
I mean, I guess everyone goes through their own things, you know, throughout life.
14
but I'm just more saying just in general just like the
15
type of person I am I don't like to express how I feel like more deeper inside
16
and I think I'm getting better at it
17
but even then there's there's certain people who I just don't
18
think I would really talk to too deeply about how I genuinely feel
19
and it's not a matter of that person
20
or those people being bad it's just more so I don't think
21
that opening up to people sometimes it's like the best thing
22
for both of us sometimes it feels like opening up to someone is you know you're putting some weight on
23
that other person you are putting a burden on that other person
24
and you know I don't want to do
25
that I can feel what the burden feels like
26
so why would I want to tell someone
27
and make them you know feel that and also maybe they wouldn't even care
28
so it's like it goes both ways in some sense like
29
either like there's two reasons like I wouldn't want to say
30
anything to anyone it's like either I don't want them to feel burdened
31
or if they didn't care then I guess I would just feel bad
32
but I guess I guess it'd be better if didn't care.
33
But it's like a different feeling where like you either don't tell people
34
because you don't want them to feel bad about it
35
or you don't tell people because you just don't think they would care or don't think it matters to them.
36
And that's really it.
37
Or you don't think they would understand.
38
And you know maybe that's like a little too closed-minded.
39
You know it's kind of like this self-inflicting position where you're kind of just allowing yourself to suffer
40
and you're not looking for any help.
41
But it's really a quite a weird position, kind of suffocating in a way, where you feel like you're alone.
42
And you don't, you don't have to be, but weirdly enough it feels, also feels easier that way,
43
not involving other people, not trying to tell someone, because it feels like if you just go through it on your own,
44
then maybe it's a little simpler, even though it already feels so complicated.
45
And I think back to, you know, like some days I've had or some years in high school and all that stuff, like feelings.
46
And I don't know if I told someone if it would have helped.
47
I think if I told someone, I'd feel more ashamed of myself.
48
I feel like if I told someone how I felt then, I would have felt even more insecure.
49
Or I'd dislike myself more because if I said it out loud, if I admitted how I felt, then I'd feel that much more like,
50
just like, like a loser for feeling that way.
51
Because it would seem, like if I said those, how I felt out loud, then it would seem so dumb.
52
it would seem so like small
53
and like silly like really that's why you feel bad
54
or really that's why you feel this way or whatever
55
and that's just me kind of making predictions i think interestingly
56
enough i think there's a lot of really great people out there
57
and i used to think know maybe like people a lot most people don't care
58
but i think more people care than you realize truly
59
and realizing this now you know that's why i'm here talking
60
and because i realized that there are people who care
61
and i realized that you know saying how i feel is is genuinely probably the better decision
62
but it's just like when you're in that position we have
63
so much inside of you it's like it's like you would think
64
that the more
65
that builds up inside of you the greater force you just want to like pour it all out of you
66
but in some way it just restricts you more and more and you You know, that's unfortunate.
67
That's sad.
68
Because I'm sure a lot of people feel that.
69
You know, so much to say, yet you can't.
70
The words, they just don't come out.
71
It's like you're just locked.
72
And even in a more practical sense, I think just maturing and growing up, I don't know, I guess I have to,
73
like, man up a bit.
74
You have to tell people how you feel.
75
You can't beat around the bush, you can't resent, or you can't be mad or sad in your own little corner.
76
Because it's like, I have obligations to other people.
77
I can't just be in my own mind and suffer by myself
78
and then possibly turn into a worse person and then other people suffer because of that.
79
You know, I can't allow that.
80
And I'm realizing that now, but it's like, I don't blame myself back then.
81
It's just how I felt.
82
It's just what I went through.
83
I had to go through that stuff to learn that now.
84
But it's like I'm realizing that it's it's not better to not say you know, most of the time it's not
85
At least when it comes to just like things that you you can't you can't stop thinking about you got it.
86
You gotta say it and This is like I remember this situation.
87
I was at this camp and there's this guy
88
Who's he was a little bit obnoxious and I didn't have any problems with him, but there was this other guy who did and
89
And I noticed that this guy like he really didn't like this other guy and instead of like confronting him
90
And you know just being real with how he felt he kind of he talked behind his back He was like, you see this guy like You know,
91
I realized that like That's not the way to go about it
92
because I had an interaction with the same guy
93
that he didn't like this The obnoxious guy and I just faced him I was like, you know what do you like blah blah blah blah It's like just silly stuff,
94
but I just said how I felt in that moment and then I forgot about it
95
and I didn't have any anger or resentment towards that guy, but it's like the other person they kept inside them and
96
that just built up and then you know you start gossiping
97
or talking behind other people's backs and then you dislike
98
that person more when in reality you just have to say how you feel
99
and sometimes we would we mistake being polite or being modest
100
or like all that for being like just overall keeping things inside of us
101
and holding all that is really not any benefit to anyone holding your anger your feelings all
102
that stuff like real genuine ones not ones
103
that are like I guess like out of this great impatience
104
or some type of being very inconsiderate but if you really feel something don't just act polite
105
don't just be nice or modest just be real that's what matters being real
106
and that is kind of what we lack in many ways everyone is
107
so kind of I don't know not everyone
108
but many Many people are very just like externally plight and just the way they are,
109
but they don't really say how they feel.
110
And maybe we should do that more.
111
Just be real.
112
Be real with each other.
113
Because that's the only way you're gonna grow or build relationships or do anything.
114
And I think for me, I can think of a situation where like
115
there was this guy I was working with and he just didn't treat me right.
116
He was kind of a jerk and I kind of let it slide, you know?
117
Like there's multiple times where like he treated me wrong and I just like brush it off, you know?
118
Because I thought that's the right thing to do.
119
It's the right thing to just brush it off and say, yeah whatever, just just be humble.
120
Stop thinking like, you know, he's somehow hurting you.
121
I was thinking like, oh my ego is hurt and I should suppress that.
122
And to some extent yes, but to also some extent like after repeated times
123
if you can't get that out of your head and you start to build up this resentment, you start to build up this anger But you still suppress it then at that point it's your fault
124
You know like the first time someone like for the first
125
or second time that guy disrespect me
126
or just was just not nice to me I should have just said something you don't have to get mad.
127
You don't have to be angry, but just confront it confront your feeling with that person and
128
eventually I did But like it was in a way that I wish it didn't have to happen.
129
It had to happen, but I wish it didn't happen that way and
130
Maybe I'll talk about it some other time because I really learned a lot from that experience
131
But it was just interesting It's it's never better to hold it in and
132
It's It can be difficult difficult because because you're trying to navigate these social situations.
133
You don't want to kind of over-reveal yourself.
134
You don't want to overreact. And I don't know.
135
I think I'm starting to realize that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.
136
What matters the most is your peace and just being honest.
137
and even to this day you know that those interactions that I had with that guy
138
the guy that you know disrespect me and all
139
that stuff it's like I still had this resentment I guess now I don't I don't have any dislike for
140
that person I feel okay
141
but even several months after I still was like man why did I let
142
that guy treat me that way or why did I
143
you know not speak up earlier why did I not say something else or how I felt.
144
And it just eats at you.
145
And it's not good because it turns you into a worse person.
146
It's like a poison or something that rots you away.
147
And it's not the way to go about living.
148
So I guess I don't want to be just the polite person.
149
I don't want to be the modest person And just for the sake of it, I want to be real.
150
That's what I want to be.
151
That's it.
152
Just be real.
