1
Hey everybody, welcome to this easy English vlog where you will be learning English through comprehensible input.
2
Let's get started.
3
All right, everybody, we are in Big Bear, California right now on a weekend trip.
4
If you have not seen the first episode when we arrived at Big Bear, then make sure to watch that video.
5
Right now, it is our second day in Big Bear we just woke up
6
and it is pretty early in the morning right now i am very very tired right now
7
because it is about 6 a .m
8
i'll tell you guys in a little bit why we decided to wake up so early
9
but first let me show you guys how it looks outside it's a beautiful morning outside in big bear right now.
10
It was actually just dark about 15 minutes ago.
11
But now you can see that it's starting to brighten up a little bit.
12
Behind me, the sun is rising, and it's getting pretty bright outside.
13
I think waking up to all of these trees around us is like the best feeling in the world.
14
Check it out, guys.
15
Right by our Airbnb over there, there is a ski resort.
16
So a ski resort is where somebody can go skiing.
17
Right now, nobody is skiing over there
18
and nobody will be skiing over there for probably a few months because it is not snowing in Big Bear right now.
19
There needs to be snow on the ground for people to be able to ski, so it's just not the right season for skiing right now,
20
but when that season comes, Big Bear becomes very, very popular.
21
All right, let's take a look in the fridge real quick and find what I really need this morning, which is some caffeine.
22
I am very tired, and this energy drink right here is definitely going to come in handy by giving me some energy for the day.
23
You can see the rest of the fridge is pretty bare.
24
There's not a lot in it.
25
Bare is basically just another word for empty.
26
But we do have some bread, some bagels, and some pita bread, and some turkey meat.
27
Sometimes we call meat like this deli meat
28
and we'll be making some sandwiches with all of this later all right like i said earlier
29
it's pretty early in the morning right now so it's a little bit cold out so i got allison
30
wrapped up in this little blanket right here she's wrapped up in this blanket
31
but the reason why we decided to get up
32
so early in the morning is because of a place over here
33
that i want to show you guys it is a donut shop
34
that we've actually tried here in big bear before
35
and it is like the best donut shop we've ever had don't
36
you think yeah this donut shop is one of the best donuts we've tried yeah it's really really delicious
37
but last time we came here it was very busy
38
and we had to wait in line for like 30 minutes to get our donuts
39
so we decided to come before the shop opens so
40
that we are going to be the first people who are able to pick out some donuts.
41
Behind us is the donut shop and you guys can probably tell that there's nobody waiting outside right now.
42
So I think we're going to be the first people entering the decor both inside
43
and outside of the shop is very very cool and colorful with lots of decorations and some merchandise that you can purchase.
44
They have a very wide selection of donuts as well as other delicious pastries.

52
All right, let's get back to the episode.
53
All right, here is everything that we bought at Dank Donuts.
54
So it all comes in these bags.
55
So let's take a look inside.
56
This is what one of the donuts looks like at Dank Donuts.
57
Looks so good.
58
Yeah, they're like really, really kind of thick donuts compared to at least most donuts here in the United States
59
and from what I remember they just taste much higher quality than regular donuts didn't you feel like
60
that last time yeah I mean they are 250 a piece
61
which I feel like is pretty expensive for a donut they're they're usually like what 150
62
or a little cheaper than that but yeah probably something like
63
that so definitely you are paying a little bit extra for these donuts
64
but let's see
65
if it is worth it is it as good as you remembered
66
it is really really good what I remember from last time
67
that i'm definitely noticing now is that the um the chocolate on the top of the donut
68
is very very delicious and very very chocolatey it has like a very strong chocolate flavor
69
which you don't get in a lot of donuts yeah sometimes you don't really get the like even
70
if it's chocolate it doesn't really taste like raw chocolate it's more like a glazed donut than yeah chocolate doughnut
71
and then the other thing that we got is a cinnamon roll
72
but before i reveal this just notice the size of this thing as i'm taking it out
73
because this thing is humongous
74
this is the biggest cinnamon roll i've ever seen in my entire life this thing though was eight dollars
75
and 50 cents so you definitely pay for the size of this cinnamon oh my gosh that's insane
76
but i don't know if it's overpriced
77
because you could probably feed like three people with this yes that's huge
78
so we're gonna see how this one tastes uh
79
when we get home with this i think just a little bit check
80
it out they also have like this little golf area right here e -golf is basically like a game
81
that people like to play and it's supposed to be like regular golf
82
but it's much easier
83
and kind of beginner friendly mini golf is super popular here in the united states
84
but i'm curious is mini golf popular in the country where you are from let me know
85
so they have like these golf clubs i think that's what those are called clubs right there i can show you guys
86
this is what one of them looks like
87
but in order to get the golf balls you have to come over here
88
and they got this little machine right here
89
you have to pay one dollar in this little quarter slot right here
90
and they can get a golf ball to play mini golf
91
but it's really cold outside so we're gonna go home adam
92
and i just got our coffee for the day at starbucks
93
i got a caramel macchiato what did you get i got this uh like pecan flavored coffee
94
that i've had before and really liked but we definitely needed this
95
because uh we were a little bit disappointed from the donuts honestly as we ate them more we realized
96
that they kind of just tasted like any donut we've ever had before
97
and they weren't that special i don't know why i remember them tasting
98
so good before yeah they didn't taste as good as i remembered
99
i feel like they kind of just tasted like any regular donut i'm not sure
100
if they changed the ingredients
101
but it definitely was a fail for me i think
102
this is like one of the coolest shopping centers i've ever seen before
103
check out just how awesome everything looks right here the architecture of the buildings is like really cool
104
and kind of looks like i don't know like sort of like a german european style
105
and then just as you're shopping here
106
you can just take a look at all the beautiful mountains covered in trees in the distance.
107
Very, very cool shopping center.
108
We decided to go to the main town area, which is called Big Bear Village.
109
The village was pretty empty, probably because it is not the most popular season to travel to Big Bear, but we found it very beautiful.
110
The village is covered in trees, which really makes you feel like you are still in the middle of nature,
111
even as you are walking through the town.
112
It was a very nice place to go for a long afternoon walk.
113
It's also a nice place to do some shopping as there's lots of little shops to check out.
114
Although most of the shops are pretty similar and just sell little souvenirs that you can take home,
115
most of the shops also have really big bear statues
116
that are kind of fun to take pictures with and they really add.
117
to the theme of this place my favorite souvenir
118
that i found were these really funny hats with different animal
119
heads sticking out of them my personal favorite was this fish hat all right
120
i hope you guys enjoyed
