1
84 smallmouth bass, 53 fallfish, 50 largemouth bass, 24 redbreast sunfish, 18 bluegill, 11 chain pickerel, 5 rainbow trout, and 15 of other species.
2
I've caught 260 fish off the inline spinner in the last year.
3
And you can too.
4
Hey, BryceGhostFishing here.
5
Today, I want to show you how to use my favorite lure, the inline spinner.
6
But before we get fishing, something that you need to know is that where you fish an inline spinner is more important than how you're fishing it.
7
Inline spinners, you can technically fish just about anywhere you want, but you're really only going to want to use them in places with lower vegetation.
8
If there are too many weeds around, this spinner is going to get caught on everything, and you do not want that.
9
Another thing, unless you're using a super heavy one, I would suggest using an inline spinner for more shallow water.
10
Like this section of the stream right here, it probably doesn't get deeper than maybe six or seven feet, so this is a perfect spot.
11
I have fished inline spinners in water as shallow as six inches and caught a lot of fish.
12
One of the most important things is if you're using this lure for the first time, make sure you buy more than one of them.
13
You will definitely get snagged at some point and you're going to lose them.
14
So always have a backup on hand.
15
As far as what kind of spinner you want to get, it doesn't really matter.
16
I would say my current favorite is the Panther Martin, but you're going to see me fish a rooster tail a lot more just because they're cheaper.
17
I think that rooster tails are the best bang for your buck, personally.
18
As far as sizing goes, if you're at a small stream like this, I would go 1 8th ounce or 1 16th ounce.
19
Those are the perfect sizes.
20
This one here is a 1 16th ounce rooster tail.
21
If you're going for trout, you might want to consider 1 32nd ounce.
22
If you're going for bass, you could go up to, you know, a 6 ounce or even a quarter ounce.
23
If you're going for pike, you can get a half ounce or three quarter ounce inline spinner.
24
They sell those too.
25
As far as colors go, I suggest going with a bland color.
26
I don't usually go with like the fire tiger
27
or the really bright artificial colors I find that I catch more fish
28
when I blend in with my environment as opposed to standing out.
29
One more thing You might see here.
30
I have a snap swivel This swivel can easily unclick and there's a little wire that comes out that I can
31
Snap that wool right on to
32
and put it back in place a snap swivel like this one is is essential for using an inline spinner.
33
Why?
34
Because it allows the lure to spin freely in the water.
35
Because of the spinning blade right here, this thing is going to want to twist your line a lot.
36
But if you use a snap swivel, like this one, you can counteract that so your lure can move freely and you don't have to worry about line twists.
37
One more thing you should do with your spinner if you're new to fishing is crimp the barbs on your hook.
38
This can be done by taking a pair of pliers and clamping down on each barb until all of them are flattened.
39
Crimping your barbs does make it easier for fish to get away, but it also makes them much easier to unhook.
40
Back to the river.
41
All right, so let's fish with the inline spinner casting out super easy like any other war And Really in there.
42
Whoa.
43
I already have a fish.
44
I think it's probably a smallmouth bass.
45
Oh, actually that's a ball fish Sweet how was that for a tutorial, huh?
46
And what a beautiful fall fish, too Alright, I'm gonna get this guy back in the water first.
47
See you, buddy.
48
All right, that was not planned at all.
49
But as you can see, this is a super easy word to use.
50
Just a simple cast out and then a steady retrieve.
51
I don't usually do like a stop-and-go action.
52
I don't usually like twitch it or anything.
53
I just do a nice, simple, steady retrieve.
54
While you're doing that steady retrieve, you can try to like mess around with how fast you want to reel it in.
55
I don't like getting too deep with the inline spinner, at least in these New Hampshire streams, because of how rocky they are.
56
If this thing runs into a few rocks along the bottom, there's a very good chance of it getting snagged.
57
That's basically how I lose all of my inline spinners.
58
Very rarely do I get it caught in something other than a rock.
59
Generally, I actually like to cast downstream, solo cast, and then reel in against the current.
60
And the reason I do that is because if I can get that lure to move as slowly as possible, as if it's basically floating in place,
61
that is gonna be a super easy bite for the fish.
62
In this case, I decided to cast upstream because there's a lot of oxygen going into the water there.
63
And that highly oxygenated water is the perfect home for those fall fish like the one I caught.
64
Oh, hey, I got another one.
65
This one looks like a little smallmouth bass.
66
Beautiful smallmouth bass.
67
See ya.
68
And just to show you that brand doesn't matter, this right here is a 1 8 ounce blue fox.
69
I have literally never used a blue fox inline spinner before.
70
This is my first time and I am gonna catch a fish off of it.
71
Oh, fish on, fish on!
72
Look at that second cast off the blue fox.
73
Another little smallmouth bass.
74
Hey thanks for the fun buddy, back in the water.
75
Completely different brand of inline spinner.
76
Took me less than a minute, just two casts, and I caught a smallmouth bass.
77
Well hey, I hope this video helped you catch some fish with an inline spinner.
78
If it did, let me know by giving this video a like, subscribing, and checking out my other videos too if you haven't already.
