78
Hope it's better in Dubai.
79
Yes, it's lovely at the moment, sunny and warm, but not too hot.
80
Now, can you give me your phone number?
81
Yes, it's 4312.
82
"Double one zero five seven." Great!
83
So, You're looking for a holiday apartment, Leo.
84
How many people is it for?
85
Just yourself?
86
No, there'll be four of us, two adults and two children.
87
Fine.
88
And when would you like it from?
89
Ideally, from the 1st of January.
90
January the 1st. OK.
91
I'll have a look and see what we've got.
92
How long would you like to stay?
93
bit on the price but I think that about nine days would be perfect.
94
Fine.
95
And talking of prices, what would be your maximum, do you think?
96
Well, I've looked on the internet, but I don't know if I'm being realistic if I say 200 euros per day.
97
Things seem to range from 150 to well over 400.
98
Well, it depends where, of course, but I think we could probably find something for you at that price.
99
Great.
100
There are various other things, though.
101
Our children are quite small, and we don't want to take them to restaurants all the time.
102
So one thing we'd really appreciate is a fully equipped kitchen so we can do some cooking.
103
Yes, I completely understand.
104
Do you have any other special requirements?
105
Yes, we live in the city centre, hundreds of miles from the sea, so we'd really like to be able to see it from our apartment.
106
Okay, I'll note that down.
107
All our apartments come with air conditioning and central heating, by the way.
108
Oh dear.
109
One thing I don't like is the noise of air conditioning in the background.
110
Can you make sure it's as quiet as possible?
111
Yes, I'll look into that.
112
Anything else?
113
Yes, just one more thing.
114
We'd like to hire a car while we're in Dubai, so we'll need to have a parking space, I think.
115
We don't want to have to walk a long way from the car to the apartment.
116
I think you're quite right.
117
I'll look into all these things and make a list of possible apartments.
118
Do you have an email address so I can send them to you?
119
Track 4.
120
Unit 1: Speaking, Exercise 1.
121
Can you tell me what you do, Hannan?
122
Do you work or are you a student?
123

124
I'm a student.
125
I'm studying medicine because I want to be a doctor.
