Shadowing Practice: 5 Minute MORNING STRETCH – Wake Up Your Whole Body! - Learn English Speaking with Video

Creating lesson...
1
Good morning everyone.
2
Welcome to your five minute stretch designed to wake up the entire body today.
3
You don't even need a yoga mat for it.
4
So we'll start balanced on top of both feet and just swinging the upper body from one side to the other.
5
You can smile, you can give yourself a little pat on the back you
6
might bend into the knees just kind of noticing how the
7
body is doing after waking up we're going to take ten
8
movements of 30 seconds each to add up to our five minutes this morning
9
and you can release that start swimming one arm back and then the other like a big backstroke here.
10
You can follow the movement with your gaze, getting the neck involved, again bending into the knees,
11
just getting things going, going at your own pace here.
12
No need to match mine.
13
And then let that go.
14
We'll take some standing cat-cows so You can open the elbows out to the side
15
and then exhale to bend the knees and fold forwards.
16
And again, finding your own pace here, we're looking to bring some movement into the upper spine and into the legs.
17
You're very welcome to slow things down and really articulate this movement.
18
And now lift the right knee in towards the chest and start extending and bending that leg.
19
So this is a balance challenge.
20
Find a place to gaze at with your eyes something that is not moving.
21
You can keep that right foot flexed.
22
And set the foot down other side.
23
Bringing left knee in towards the heart.
24
And extending and flexing through that leg.
25
Really grounding down through all four corners of that standing foot.
26
And set both feet back down.
27
Beautiful.
28
Start to take some hip circles in one direction, making this movement your own.
29
These can be small or big, slow or fast, eventually switching directions.
30
Don't forget about your breath.
31
Then bring both feet close to each other.
32
Turn the right foot out just slightly and start kicking that right foot back behind you.
33
So another balance challenge here, firming up through the abs,
34
really working the glute and switching sides,
35
kicking that left heel back at a slight diagonal behind you.
36
Just a few more.
37
Very good.
38
Now take a diagonal step back with that right foot, bend into the right leg and start taking some little pulses here.
39
The right leg is bent, the left leg is straight, and we're really waking up those adductors and inner thighs.
40
Another side.
41
Big step back with the left foot, bending the left knee so that we can pulse a little bit into the inner thigh on that right leg.
42
If you weren't awake already, I think this one will help.
43
And let that go.
44
Now start to lift and lower the heels, waking up the calves and the feet.
45
You might add some snow angels with the arms.
46
You might link breath to movement, finding your own speed.
47
Almost there.
48
And then release that.
49
Take a big step out towards the right with your right foot.
50
Then bring the left hand towards the right toes and then switch.
51
So a side step and then a toe touch.
52
And this is one that might take you a few times to kind of get it.
53
But if you come back to this practice regularly, the body will know what to expect.
54
Waking up into the legs and the spine with this dynamic motion.
55
And let it go.
56
Beautiful.
57
For our last pose today, lift yourself back up onto the toes.
58
Final balance challenge.
59
You can hold here or you can start to walk in place.
60
This is really a full body exercise here.
61
Keeping those abs firm.
62
Smiling.
63
You might be dancing around a little bit and that's perfectly fine.
64
Good way to challenge yourself first thing in the morning.
65
And let that go altogether.
66
Let's take a big final full body stretch.
67
Beautifully done.
68
I'll leave a link to a similar five-minute practice on screen in case you'd like just a little bit more this morning.
69
And I wish you a beautiful day.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
