The shadowing technique is a language-learning method where you listen to a native speaker and repeat what they say almost at the same time, copying their pronunciation, rhythm and intonation. Instead of only reading about English, you train your ears and your mouth together, which is why shadowing is one of the most effective ways to improve listening, pronunciation and speaking fluency.
How to use the shadowing technique here: (1) pick a video at your level, starting at A1–A2 if you are a beginner; (2) listen to one sentence and read the subtitle; (3) shadow it, speaking along with the speaker and matching stress and linking, not just the words; (4) record yourself and compare your voice with the original; (5) come back to the same video for a few days until you can shadow it without subtitles.
Every lesson is split into short sentences you can replay, slow down and score, so you always know which words still need work. Browse by CEFR level, topic or accent (American or British), choose content you actually enjoy, and shadow for 10–15 minutes a day: consistency matters more than session length.
