In this video tutorial, I'm going to show you how to set up the new Claude Dispatch,
2
which allows you to take your phone and control and send tasks to your desktop from Claude instantly and easily.
3
So make sure you've updated your Claude app.
4
You also have to have a $20 subscription or more to Claude.
5
So make sure you have that set up as well.
6
And when you open the mobile app in the sidebar,
7
you're going to see something where you normally see chats,
8
projects, artifacts code, you'll see something new that says dispatch.
9
Go ahead and tap into that option there.
10
Then what you want to do is either tap the button that says email desktop app link or pair with your desktop.
11
The easiest way is just tapping on pair with your desktop.
12
Then it says, make sure
13
that you've downloaded the latest version of Claude sign in as your account
14
and go to the dispatch tab on desktop to complete the setup.
15
So here we are on our Claude desktop app.
16
I've selected dispatch over here in the sidebar like so.
17
And I want to go ahead and just click on get started.
18
Once you've done this, just go ahead and say pair with Claude mobile app.
19
Basically, all you'll have to do is open up your camera on your device.
20
It will scan that code there.
21
Tap the option for the QR code and then go ahead and open Claude like so.
22
And then go ahead and tap done.
23
As you can see now, the dispatch is online.
24
It says, hey, glad you're here.
25
Find a confirmation in downloads
26
and check the order it can do a number of things go ahead
27
and say i'm signed on on the desktop here
28
and then on the desktop app you can choose a couple
29
of options like keep this computer awake it prevents sleep
30
while dispatch is running that's probably a good idea let claude control your computer it allows claude to click type
31
and open apps you can enable that if you want
32
and then as far as accessibility and screen recording you can request those two
33
if you want make sure all of these are checked and turned on and go ahead and go to finish setup.
34
Then says Claude would like to access files in your documents folder.
35
Click allow like so.
36
Now you can see that Claude is set up.
37
You can turn on notifications to be notified when things are done.
38
And then as you can see right here,
39
keep it awake, computer usage,
40
all of these things need to be kind of set up the way that I just did them.
41
Now back over on our phone,
42
we want to search downloads folder for audio files go ahead and send that task.
43
As you can see, it will begin working on your desktop.
44
As you can see the squiggly lines there at the very bottom and what I just sent from the mobile app,
45
you can now see here under dispatch.
46
And then it says searching your downloads folder.
47
And then it says allow Claude to work in downloads.
48
You'll click allow or tap allow,
49
and you can go ahead and pre allow that by the way in settings.
50
If you don't want to worry about getting that information now,
51
back on our mobile app,
52
you can see the squiggly lines means that it's working again.
53
And then as you can see,
54
the response says, here's what's in your downloads folder,
55
podcast recordings, short clips, video files.
56
Um, total is roughly, and then it gives you kind of the information and then it says,
57
what specific file are we looking for?
58
And as you can see,
59
we can just go back and forth with it from our mobile device
60
and give it more detail as to what we're trying to find.
61
And then it can specifically find that file,
62
move it to a Google drive.
63
You can see the power with this, right?
64
So it says, what would you like to do with the podcast recordings?
65
A few things I could help with.
66
I can now type in organize.
67
And next time I'm in front of my computer,
68
the folder with that specific file type will be organized in my downloads folder,
69
all done directly with Claude.
70
These are all things that you would normally need to outsource or do yourself.
71
Very tedious tasks, but dispatch allows us to remotely connect to our desktop
72
and do these tasks right here from our mobile device.
73

Why practice speaking with this video?

Engaging with this video tutorial on setting up Claude Dispatch is an excellent opportunity for IELTS speaking practice. The speaker effectively breaks down complex instructions into understandable segments, making it easier for learners to grasp essential speaking patterns. By mimicking the speaker, you can enhance your fluency and gain confidence in your technical vocabulary, which is invaluable for various professional contexts. Additionally, the casual tone of the video allows you to practice everyday conversation skills, offering insight into how to communicate instructions clearly and effectively.

Grammar & Expressions in Context

As you watch and listen, pay attention to a few key structures used by the speaker:

  • Imperative Verbs: The speaker frequently uses imperative forms, such as "tap", "click", and "go ahead". These commands demonstrate how to give clear directions, essential in both casual and formal contexts.
  • Conditionals: Phrases like "if you want" and "make sure" highlight conditional clauses that are useful when explaining procedures and requirements.
  • Present Continuous Tense: The use of “is working” and “are searching” illustrates ongoing actions, which are important for describing tasks in real-time.

These structures are key to improving your speaking and comprehension abilities, especially when using the shadowing technique to imitate the speaker's natural rhythm and tone.

Common Pronunciation Traps

While listening, pay close attention to some tricky pronunciations that can pose challenges:

  • “Claude” - Ensure you pronounce this name clearly to avoid confusion.
  • “Desktop” - This word can be mispronounced; focus on the emphasis on the first syllable.
  • “Dispatch” - The speaker pronounces it swiftly as part of the flow, so practicing this in context is essential to improve English pronunciation.

Incorporating these elements into your practice will not only improve your pronunciation but will also enable you to learn English with YouTube in an enjoyable and engaging way. By shadowing the speaker and focusing on these aspects, you can advance your speaking skills more effectively.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
