1
Today I'm going to be showing you guys how to perfect your base routine using products
2
that you already have in your makeup collection.
3
Let's get right into the video.
4
So for this video I'm going to be doing the correct side on this side
5
and then the wrong side on this side.
6
So you can really just see the difference between mistakes
7
that you might make on your base routine versus how to do it properly.
8
So the first step of a flawless base routine is to go in with a really good moisturizer.
9
So the moisturizer that I'm using is the Madagascar Centella Hyalur Cica Moisture Cream.
10
This moisturizer is one of my favorites for sure.
11
And so I'm just going to be moisturizing this side of my face.
12
You really want to get in there properly and also get on your eyelid, get under your eye.
13
I'm just getting over a cold right now.
14
So if my voice sounds a little raspy or different, that's fine.
15
And for the incorrect side, I did not go in with any moisturizer at all, which you definitely don't want to do.
16
Basically, like, you just want your skin to be as moisturized as possible.
17
And if you ever have to question whether or not it's moisturized enough, then you probably didn't do enough.
18
So for the next step, it's another moisturizing skin prep step, which is a moisturizing sunscreen.
19
And this is my all-time favorite sunscreen.
20
It's so good.
21
Like, literally, it feels like a moisturizer.
22
There's no white cast.
23
This is the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF 50.
24
Such a good sunscreen.
25
Like, hands down the best.
26
And acts as the most perfect makeup base, the most perfect primer.
27
Like, my makeup always looks flawless when I use the sunscreen.
28
So, I'm going in.
29
And as you can see, it already is adding, like, a glass skin glow to my skin.
30
Compared to this side where it's just, like, nothing.
31
And you can add so much of this sunscreen to really getting
32
that spf on your skin
33
And it will never feel like too much on your skin like with some sunscreens
34
if you put on too much like it feels awful
35
But this one you can literally layer on So many layers
36
and it still feels Amazing
37
and honestly the more you put on the kind of better it makes your makeup look too
38
And just when you thought that would be it we have one more moisturizing step
39
So this is like one of my favorite primers
40
and it's not actually a primer
41
But it does an amazing job at giving you the most flawless base
42
and that is the glow recipe watermelon niacinamide This is
43
so good Like I have oily skin like acne prone oily skin
44
and my skin just drinks it up like water
45
And it gives the most beautiful glow and it's amazing
46
If you ever worry about dry patches with your makeup with your foundation concealer whatever like Use this
47
and you'll never worry about a dry patch again So I do like two pumps, but since I'm just doing half my face, I'm just gonna do one pump.
48
And then First of all look at that glow.
49
It's amazing I took off any kind of beauty filter
50
or any kind of like skin softening skin smoothing filter So this is just my raw skin.
51
And as you can see, it is far from perfect.
52
I definitely have a lot of acne scarring.
53
I even have like this pimple right here, but I'm going to show you guys how I do my base
54
so that my blemishes are all covered and it just looks flawless.
55
So as you can see, I basically just did not prep the side at all, which is just not what you want to do at all.
56
Like, I know that if you have oily skin, sometimes you might be scared to put too much product on it, especially glowy type products.
57
Like, you might be like, my skin is gonna look so oily, especially after I put foundation on, but that's just not the case at all.
58
Like, with the right skin prep, it actually does the opposite.
59
So, instead of oily, you're gonna look dewy and healthy.
60
So, I zoomed you guys in a little bit, and now I'm gonna go in with the actual makeup.
61
So, I'm gonna go in with my all-time Favorite foundation which is the estee lauder double wear foundation.
62
I'm in the shade three and one ivory beige
63
So I used to really not like this foundation actually
64
because I thought that it was too full coverage to like makeup-y looking because it's like a Full full coverage foundation.
65
It's also a little bit drying, but that's only
66
if you don't prep your skin properly It's amazing at keeping your oiliness at bay throughout the day
67
So it doesn't like come up and like disrupt and like move around your makeup, you know So the thing is with foundation, you just don't want to go too heavy on this,
68
especially with a full coverage foundation like this.
69
You don't need a lot.
70
And if you need more coverage, it's better to go back in than to like put on too much and then, you know, you're kind of just stuck with that.
71
So on the wrong side, I'm going to be basically just putting on way too much foundation.
72
And I'm going to be blending that in with a brush.
73
And because I put on too much and I'm using a brush,
74
it kind of just doesn't allow for any product to be lifted or absorbed and there's nothing wrong with using a brush.
75
I just find that if you're gonna use a brush, you have to go in with a sponge after
76
and kind of just like blend everything in and absorb extra product
77
and then you might as well just use a sponge in the first place, you know what I mean?
78
And so I'm just kind of blending that in there
79
and I'm purposely not making the bad side like purposely bad or anything.
80
I'm just showing real mistakes that people make and then on the good side, I'm just showing you how much better it can be with simple changes.
81
But honestly, this foundation is amazing, and even on the bad side, like, I still expect it to look decent because the products that I'm using are just good products.
82
Anyway, on the good side, I'm gonna go in with less product, and I'm gonna kind of dab it in with my fingers instead of, like, swiping it.
83
And this just allows for more of a natural finish.
84
So I'm gonna use the Real Techniques Blending Sponge to blend this in,
85
and this isn't gonna give me as high of a coverage as this side, but it's gonna look a lot more skin-like,
86
and for the blemishes, we're gonna go back in with concealer.
87
So it's all gonna be covered at the end.
88
You don't have to worry about that, but we just wanna work lightly, and we wanna work in layers.
89
Because I want a little more coverage, I'm gonna go back in with some more again I'm gonna dab it instead of swiping with my finger
90
because the warmth from our finger also helps to just make everything look more natural and
91
seamless as well and Put some on my nose and then just continue to blend that in slowly
92
With our damp by the way damp sponge and as you can see my glowy base
93
really shows through this matte full coverage foundation versus the side is just kind of matte and dead.
94
The side you can still see like the healthy glow.
95
So that's that for the foundation.
96
Now I'm going to go in with concealer for the blemishes that are still showing through on my face.
97
I'm using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for this step.
98
This is in the shade 015 Light and I'm just gonna apply the concealer where I have blemishes on my face.
99
I have a lot of scarring on this side.
100
And for the wrong side of the concealer, I'm gonna blend that in right away.
101
Basically, with concealer, when we're covering blemishes, we want to let it sit.
102
And that's super important because if you don't let it sit, you're basically just lifting all of that concealer that you just applied.
103
And as you can see, you can still see all of the blemishes that I was just trying to cover.
104
And so it kind of just defeats the purpose of even putting on concealer
105
and it's just extra product for nothing Which we never want to do
106
because that's just gonna make your makeup look cakier for nothing, you know And for the side i'm just gonna let it sit for a little bit
107
And while we're letting it sit i'm gonna go in
108
and show you guys how to do the perfect under eye Concealer
109
so that you cover your dark circles But also don't have any creasing
110
because I know that's a huge struggle for a lot of people
111
So the concealer i'm going to be using for the under
112
eyes is this one by the sam this is in the shade 2.25
113
so concealer placement is really important
114
if you don't want your concealer crease what I see a
115
lot of people do incorrectly Is they put their concealer like way too high up
116
because they see that they have darkness there So they put it all the way up, but you actually don't want to do that and then they also put way too much concealer like that is just
117
completely wrong.
118
So with the correct side, we actually just want to do a little bit, and I'm not going to bring it so high up actually.
119
I actually want to put it closer to the bottom and just put a dab there, and then another dab out here, and then maybe a third one just right there.
120
You don't want to do more than that.
121
For the correct side, I'm going to blend it out with a small brush at first.
122
Basically, we don't want to bring it all the way up because if we bring it all the way up, it's just gonna crease and it's not gonna look good.
123
And notice how I'm not going in with a sponge just yet because right now I'm just focusing on increasing that coverage.
124
And for the incorrect side, I'm gonna also blend that in and blend that out with a sponge as well.
125
So now for the correct side, I'm gonna blend everything out with that damped sponge.
126
And as you can see, the concealer did a much better job at concealing these really
127
dark marks than on this side where it's kind of all just lifted.
128
And you can also see that the under eye, you know, it covered my dark circles without me having to put on so much product.
129
And this one is going to start creasing like crazy, and this one is not going to crease.
130
And if we want a little more coverage, I can actually go in with that slightly darker shade of concealer that I use for my blemishes, and then just add an extra dot right in the middle,
131
and blend that out.
132
And what you actually want to do from here now is you're going to smile, and basically, before you put on powder, you want to move your face like how it would normally crease,
133
and any excess product that kind of comes up, take your sponge and blend that in now.
134
You just basically want it to be as well blended as humanly possible before you go in with that powder.
135
And now, when you go on with powder.
136
I'm using the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder, best powder from the drugstore, and on the wrong side, basically, we're just gonna put on way too much powder and not,
137
like, dust it off or anything, and just go, like, straight in there, pack on that powder.
138
Like, that's gonna make your makeup look so cakey.
139
On the correct side, I'm gonna go in with a little bit of powder.
140
We're gonna get a lot of that off and set as lightly as possible.
141
Okay.
142
You want to set everywhere that you put concealer.
143
For the second last step for the good side, I'm going to be going in with a setting spray.
144
This is just the Sephora setting spray.
145
And basically, I'm just going to spray all on this side.
146
Oh, there's one in my mouth.
147
You want to do a pretty generous spray.
148
Let it sit for a little bit.
149
Then you want to actually take that sponge and press in all that setting spray that we just put down.
150
Perfect.
151
And this is just to make it like extra long lasting.
152
I'm actually going to go in with that powder again, tap off the excess, and go in with one more light layer on top of that setting spray.
153
And this way, especially if you put it in your t-zone or the areas where you get oily,
154
you do not have to worry about your makeup moving at all throughout the day.
155
Like, this is gonna make your makeup so long-lasting to do the powder setting spray, then powder again.
156
And if you want, you can even go back and finish with a last layer of setting spray.
157
Like, if you literally want your makeup to not move at all.
158
So I'm gonna do that.
159
And there you have it, guys.
160
That was your perfect glowy full coverage acne coverage base routine you can see just
161
so much difference on how amazing and skin like this looks again literally no filter
162
and no nothing versus this side
163
which just kind of looks you know a little bit dead
164
um in person it looks way more cakey it looks dry
165
and the coverage wasn't even that good here
166
so there you have it now you know how to do
167
a perfect base now you can go in with the rest of your makeup thank you guys
168
so much for watching and I'll see you guys in my next video.
169
Bye!
