that it would be cool since I have been such a big fan of the Uncharted video games

if I did a series following the production of the upcoming Uncharted movie and subsequent sequels if there are any, and I'm sure there will be.

So I just figured to expand my channel a little bit more, do a little bit more of the Transformers,

and, you know, just go ahead and follow production of another movie that I'm interested in.

So, the Uncharted movie has not gotten off the ground for quite some time.

Mark Wahlberg was once attached, Nathan Fillion wanted to be Nathan Drake at one point,

and Chris Pratt recently turned down the role of Nathan Drake.

But, it seems like they're finally pushing forward, although I'm not quite certain I'm going to be happy with the final product as it stands right now

and of course that could soon change as we get some photos from them filming and a trailer.

It could end up being awesome.

Right now I'm a little bit concerned as an Uncharted fan

and I'll explain why with the latest Uncharted movie news that has happened recently.

So first of all, if you like the Uncharted games

and you have been looking up some news of the Uncharted movie you've probably figured out

that Joe Carnahan is the writer for Uncharted.

Yes, the great Joe Carnahan who made the magnificent film The A -Team.

This is not going to taste good.

So, Joe Carnahan is on board for the Uncharted movie,

and he said in an interview that he is writing it as an R -rated movie.

He said the script is very R -rated.

This concerns me greatly because the Uncharted games are not R -rated material.

They're always rated T for Teen.

There is never any heavy swearing, no F -bombs, you know, nothing like that.

And so the fact that he thinks that an R rating is the way to go for Uncharted, that he says it's very Uncharted,

it gets like behind the core, you know, of what Uncharted is.

The fact that he thinks an R rating is that, it has me a little bit concerned.

Because Uncharted is very much not an R rated property whatsoever

and not even close um it's just the typical action adventure very indiana jones -esque um

and that is kind of like what the games are based on is

Of course, who is going to be playing Nathan Drake?

Well, Tom Holland, who is better known as the new Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider -Man, will be playing Nathan Drake,

which, when I saw this news, I was even more concerned about this film.

From what has been reported around,

it seems like that this movie will be a prequel based on a sequence in Uncharted 3 when Nate meets Sully.

I could see that being interesting, a prequel to the games.

The problem that I see with Tom Holland being Nathan Drake is the fact

that while I could see him as a good Nathan Drake, like a good younger Nathan Drake for a prequel,

you know, he's got that witty.. personality, which we have seen with the Spider -Man trailers so far, and even in Captain America Civil War,

he has that witty Nathan Drake -ness attitude, which could work as a young Nathan Drake.

Now, the problem moving forward for this is, I'm thinking sequels.

I'm thinking franchise here.

As a one -movie thing, okay.

But I know that Sony is not going to want to stop with one movie.

They're going to want to build a franchise.

They're going to want to make the Uncharted series, you know, a bunch of sequels.

Now, I don't see Tom Holland becoming the adult Nathan Drake that we know in the games.

That is the issue I see with this.

He can definitely play a younger Nathan Drake, but I do not see him playing an adult Nathan Drake.

Because Tom Holland is an adult.

He's like 20 years old, so how he looks now is how he's going to look.

He's not some 15 -year -old that's going to grow up and obtain the physique of Nathan Drake in the video games.

and they're going to be casting him to play a younger nathan drake a child pretty much

so the fact of him possibly growing into this role

So that's the problems I see with that.

Now, another problem that I see with this is if they go into the prequel route of Nathan meeting Sully.

There is not going to be a bunch of over -the -top action, which is a staple in the Uncharted franchise.

So that's a big problem right there, too.

Now, they could just go ahead and ditch, you know, what's presented in the video games and make it a big action piece or whatever.

But if they're basing it off of the flashback scenes from Uncharted 3, Nathan Drake is just kind of like a, you know, petty thief.

He's a kid.

He just kind of steals an apple or something like that.

I mean, it's like he's not a full -fledged thief who goes on some giant treasure hunt quest.

So I can see that being a problem as well.

How would you get this younger Nathan Drake to go on this giant quest?

Another problem I see is this almost definitely means that we will not be seeing Elena, and we will not be seeing Chloe,

who are two of the most popular, well -known characters in the franchise.

Now, we will definitely be seeing Sully and, of course, Nathan Drake, and if they go this Uncharted 3 route, then maybe we'll see Marlo as well.

But as far as a lot of the main cast members that we know and love here, they're probably not going to be in this movie,

because back in Uncharted 3 flashbacks, Nathan did not even come close to knowing Elena at this point.

Could they maybe throw in that he knows Chloe at this point of his life?

But no Elena, that's a definite, and I could not see them introducing Elena for at least a couple more movies if they go this prequel route.

So that's an issue right there.

Now, my attitude can completely change if we see some on -set photos and he looks totally like Nathan Drake, you know, Tom Holland.

I could, you know, see a trailer, and they might have caught the, you know, Uncharted vibe completely well, but between the script and the casting and the time period where this is set,

I'm a little concerned, not about this specific movie, but where the movies could be taken in the future,

although I am concerned with the R -rated script for this film.

Hopefully that ends up changing, and maybe it has changed already, and we just don't know about that.
