that he did and there it is i mean i really it was surreal it was just insane

that i was

that elton john was actually playing an upright piano in this

yard in a in this in a part of los angeles

i it was it was it was crazy i would have

felt a bit self -conscious i'll be honest what he did

do for me i brought my childhood um yellow brick road album

and i was so shy you know because it's elton john

and i was like would you sign my album for me

and he did

and now i have it um oh there it is i

have it framed um in my house uh it's sort of a wonderful piece of memorabilia very cool i mean

so i can't believe i'm working with him again i'm

so excited yeah and he's so lovely as well

and i'm actually of course another show taken to the stage is dinner ladies you were just 24

when you started that alongside victoria wood what was

that like well it was mind -blowing at the time

because victoria wood was the reason i wanted to be a

performer yeah you know i was obsessed with her since you know i can remember

so to get it was my first job at drama school

so it was yeah it was an extraordinary time with all

those extraordinary cast members you know you think you know julie walters celia rimway

and read and then we had an episode where we had dora brian you know, Thora Heard and Eric Sykes, yeah, so I, yeah, sort of...

know bucket list ticks yeah before we just started yeah yeah

and we have to of course mention susan in desperate housewives okay

and the scene where susan so brilliant gets locked out of a house naked uh was

that really good fun to film because you say

that was one of the standout ones for you yeah you

know interestingly enough i'm doing this rewatch podcast that's streaming on hulu starting in november

and i'm doing it with my daughter in real life emerson and my daughter on the show, Andrea Bowen, and we've been re -watching the show.

It's my daughter's first time re -watching it.

And so we just went through the first season, and we're just now halfway into the second season.

And we were talking the other day about, what is your favorite scene you've seen so far?

And collectively, she likes that scene the best.

I like that scene the best.

James Denton, who played Mike, likes that scene the best.

It seems to have sort of lasted the test of time.

It really, it was, I love the choreography of it it was it was really a dance between the steady cam operator

and the wardrobe department

that yeah figure out in the prop department figuring out how to cover the bits you don't want to see

and um yeah it was a memorable moment yeah when we watched it earlier i remembered it instantly

well you can see terry in the devil wears prada the musical at london's dominion theater from the 20th of October.
