1
While I do not enjoy studying every subject in school, I've rediscovered a genuine love for learning, and in this video I will show you how you can do the same.
2
There was a time in my life when I hated school because I felt constant pressure to strive for A's, which caused me a lot of stress.
3
I often felt like I was learning things that had no relevance to my future, and spending hours studying them after school felt like a complete waste of time.
4
I remember being about seven years old, longing for the same workload as one of my brothers have.
5
He had, even though he is 10 years older than me.
6
Social media was irrelevant back then, so the fact that I romanticized studying at that age makes me wonder, where did that genuine love for learning go?
7
So, what did I do to fall in love with studying?
8
I simply found my own way to enjoy learning.
9
Discovering two personal reasons to learn genuinely transformed my perspective.
10
The first reason is simple.
11
I have a deep desire to learn as much as I can.
12
Think back to the renaissance.
13
People back then saw education as the key to becoming a better person.
14
They were eager to learn about art, science, philosophy, and history.
15
Not just to get ahead, but to understand the world and themselves.
16
They looked up to people like Leonardo da Vinci, who mastered multiple disciplines.
17
Being educated meant you were curious, creative, and able to think for yourself.
18
And those qualities help people become better citizens and make smarter choices.
19
Now, I'm not saying we need to become renaissance thinkers, but I do believe that learning across different fields can genuinely enrich our lives.
20
The second reason is that school constantly gives us opportunities to develop one of the most important skills, learning how to learn.
21
Take history, for example.
22
A lot of people find it boring and wonder why we should even care about the past, but I would argue that history is incredibly valuable.
23
Some ask, if we have all learned about the past, why does history keep repeating itself?
24
Even though we continue to make the same mistakes, I believe in our ability to change and grow over time.
25
History also serves as a powerful reminder, like Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27th.
26
For example, our school reflects some past atrocities to help ensure they're never repeated.
27
Here's the thing, even if a subject isn't your favorite and you're just studying to pass, it's still a chance to strengthen how you learn.
28
Even if you're studying primarily to achieve a satisfactory grade, you can still use the opportunity to enhance your learning process.
29
And that's a skill worth developing.
30
And who knows, you might end up enjoying the subject.
31
We often dislike what we struggle with, but once we invest time in learning, it can become surprisingly rewarding.
