Welcome back to my channel.

I am Camille and this is a new style of video that I'm doing today.

I'm recording from my computer and I'm going to be teaching from my English short stories book.

So we're going to be studying a story together.

So this is for beginner level.

I will be trying to speak slowly and we will go through the book.

You will be able to listen.

And then at the end, we'll go through some comprehension questions together.

Okay.

So especially for English, reading is so great.

Listening, looking at the words while hearing them, because you know English is not a phonetic language.

Things do not sound how they are spelled.

So let's try this out together, this new style of video, and let's see how it goes.

So this story is called My Hobbies, and this is true.

These are my hobbies.

So the word hobbies means things that we like, things that we enjoy.

I, I have many hobbies.

I like to learn new things.

One of my hobbies is learning languages.

I am studying Turkish now.

It's a hard language.

I watch videos in Turkish.

I read easy books in Turkish.

I talk to my friends on the phone in Turkish.

Every day I study a little bit of Turkish.

So let's go back up to the top.

We can say things and that is a broad picture of what we like to do.

So I like to learn new things.

Under things it could be many different things, many different activities.

So I like to learn new things.

One, so one of my hobbies, so that means I have more than one, is language learning.

If you know me, you know I love languages.

So I am studying.

To study means to learn, to work.

So I'm trying, just like you're trying to learn English,

I'm trying to learn Turkish. So I watch videos.

What you are watching now is a video.

So you watch videos to learn English.

I also read books.

This is a book.

I read books and I talk to my friends on my phone.

This is my phone.

Every day I study a little Turkish.

I also love to exercise.

So exercise could mean many things, but it means moving our body, some sort of sport.

In English, we say exercise.

Every morning, I do something active.

Active means I'm moving.

I walk or run, do yoga, or do a workout video.

So in English, we don't make sports, but we do sports, okay?

I do yoga.

I do a workout video on YouTube.

I feel better when I move my body.

I also enjoy the outdoors.

My family likes to go to the beach or park together.

So my family, that means my husband and my children.

My family.

That's my family.

Okay.

Traveling is another thing I really enjoy.

My family likes to visit new countries together.

We like to try new foods,

meet new people, and practice the language of the country we are in.

So here is my family traveling together we've been to 15 countries.

So we like to try food, eating, we like to meet new people,

and we like to practice the language if we know it, of course.

Another hobby of mine is reading.

So I love to read books.

Every day I try to read one chapter or two from a book.

So chapters are in books.

Some books are long and they have many chapters.

Chapters can be short or long.

A chapter could be three pages or a chapter could be 20 pages.

Sometimes I read in other languages.

Most of the time I read books in English.

That's my son, he's so cute.

I also love to bake.

So baking is different from cooking.

When we bake, usually we're making bread or sweet things, things with maybe sugar in them.

I like to bake muffins.

This is a muffin. And cookies.

Cookies are usually round and flat, so I like to bake muffins and cookies.

I'm trying to learn how to bake sourdough bread.

Sourdough bread is a special type of bread that doesn't use little powder yeast,

but it uses yeast that has been fermented from water and flour.

And it's very hard to work with for me,

maybe not other people, but it's supposed to be good for your digestion.

Sometimes my kids bake with me.

I have a lot of hobbies.

It was very short.

When we're learning, especially in the beginning, we need short stories.

Long stories are hard.

They don't hold our attention.

For beginners, we need short stories.

So that's why I wrote this book, short stories.
