1
whatever you think always has a way of working out.
2
So you might as well just be delusionally optimistic, right?
3
The world in a weird way bends to your will.
4
And what I mean by that is your thought pattern changes the way that your brain views yourself in life subconsciously.
5
And then that controls the subtle actions that you make throughout your day that you're not even consciously aware of.
6
And all of a sudden, these very small decisions that you make that you don't even think you're making add up to something bigger.
7
Excuse me.
8
It's the law of accumulation, right?
9
So you just need to get addicted to thinking that everything is going to work out.
10
You know, once you go through enough weird or bad experiences in life, and then eventually they pan out,
11
you start to realize that there really is no advantage whatsoever in thinking neutrally or negatively.
12
Like there's no advantage in panicking when something doesn't go right.
13
The only workable solution is to think that things will go right.
14
And it's really hard to develop this framework, this mindset, but I am not kidding you in the past year, year and a half ish,
15
I have seen drastic changes in my life from me just saying, you know what?
16
Two worlds exist right now.
17
One where I get mad about this or one where I actually think
18
that this is opportunity or it's a good thing or it's building my character or whatever.
19
You choose what that life looks like for you.
20
It's so corny, but start romanticizing your future.
21
You should start thinking that that girl's going to like you.
22
Start thinking that, you know, you're going to get that job or start thinking that you're going to be living in an abundance.
23
The things that you want are going to happen.
24
Because if you truly keep this mentality at each stage of your life, you're going to look back and it's just objectively going to be better.
25
Imagine you're on your deathbed
26
and you look back on all the decisions that you made
27
and you're the type of person that thought positively through everything and everyone would point the finger at you like,
28
oh you're performatively happy and then imagine you're the negative person
29
that everyone's always you know doesn't want to be around
30
and you're like you're like you know pessimists they like seem smart they seem intelligent they seem right
31
and then all of a sudden you know boom these things just added up in your life
32
and in any given instant you didn't care to change your mentality
33
because you thought oh i can do it in the future
34
and then these things added up which life you think is better.
35
The delusionally optimistic, the performatively happy person, or the one that was,
36
you know, trying to be realistic and negative about things.
37
It's so obvious.
38
And here's the thing.
39
We all know this is true.
40
I remember when I would work this warehouse job and I've talked about it before on my channel,
41
but you know, some nights when it was really cold
42
and it was getting late and I knew I wasn't going to get much sleep
43
and I was tired from lifting the heavy boxes, man, I would just sit there and think, wow, this really sucks.
44
Like you're kind of just, you're in that moment for, you know, it's a six hour shift, sometimes it's eight hour shift, whatever.
45
You're just in this sucky moment for so long that you have nothing else to do, but to think negatively.
46
And I remember at that time when I got that job was the first time I ever read meditations by Marcus Aurelius,
47
which is a super cliche, like first philosophy book to get into.
48
I don't know if it was my first ever, but it was one of the first philosophy books I I've ever read.
49
And it's still just such solid information.
50
I truly believe that.
51
I just think it's so applicable to the average person.
52
And there was something that Marcus Aurelius said in that book that stuck out.
53
He's like, he's like, don't catch yourself complaining, not even to yourself.
54
And what he meant by
55
that is you don't even want to have your personal self -talk in your head be negative
56
because it quite literally has not only is it bad for you
57
but it offers you no relief like i don't i like this is the issue
58
that i struggle with it's like why do people even complain
59
because what's the benefit of of complaining because you don't really feel good
60
when you complain you almost feel worse
61
when you complain it's like it's like you're trying to scratch an itch that's under your skin, but you can't, it's not even possible.
62
It only makes it more itchy because have you ever vented to someone, not even complain, but just vented about anything going on in your life.
63
And then immediately, like later that night, when you left that, um, from hanging out with that person,
64
you're like, Oh, that I wish I didn't do that.
65
It's like, yeah, you just, you just endure these things and like, think more positively.
66
Anyways, I remember actively telling myself like, Hey, this is something that I need to work on.
67
And when I was you know at that job
68
because i just every night was gonna suck every night you just you're you're lifting all this heavy freight
69
and you got it you're you're red lighting if you know you know
70
and it just
71
is not the most ideal situation
72
and all of a sudden you're like hey
73
there's there's no getting out of it let's just accept this experience for what it is
74
and not wish that it was anything better
75
and then you're cool with it you're cool with it i remember
76
and i've told this story before but i had this sales job
77
and for the sales job i would i would knock doors in in neighborhoods
78
i was a door -to -door solicitor and the way that
79
that job works is you have what's called like car groups
80
so you have one driver who's the leader
81
and then the you know three other people in the car
82
and they drive people to their neighborhoods that they're going to
83
and i was just really like i hated this job
84
so much i was really negative
85
and i had my car group driver pull me aside
86
and he was like hey man he's like i'm wishing you for the i'm wishing the best for you
87
but he's like i can't be around you you're just too negative
88
it just kills kills the mojo kills the morale and
89
that was like a strong wake -up call for me
90
and i remember just thinking like he's he's right like i wasn't even i was i was upset with myself
91
but he didn't hurt my feelings i remember sitting there like no that's totally valid that's totally right
92
because you just you don't want to bring people down
93
you don't want to bring yourself down above all else like i don't know
94
it's like you can just complain about things over and over again
95
or you could actually do something about it you know what's funny is like
96
that you start to view the world in that same light
97
if you're a negative person you're going to see a situation that's neutral as negative
98
if you're a positive person you're going to see a situation
99
that's neutral as positive that's just how it goes you know it's funny
100
because a lot of people online will watch my videos um
101
or not not necessarily watch my videos
102
but maybe just see the the titles of thumbnails and it's funny
103
because they're like oh jet is so doomer and this and
104
that and it's like if you've actually watched my videos
105
and you're not you know a miserable person who's actively looking for misery uh you probably have realized
106
that in my videos especially you know at the end of the conclusion
107
it's always like something more positive it's always something like hey just
108
because society sucks
109
or whatever like you gotta do you gotta make an attempt there is still a window to escape yeah
110
and it's like people that actually watch my videos know this to be true
111
and uh you know if they're not miserable
112
or like looking for a reason to get upset
113
but my point is this the world is just a reflection of yourself
114
the only perspective that you're ever going to experience is your own
115
so you might as well just make it the best as possible
116
and here's the here's the cool thing hope
117
it can be addictive like you you can start to think more positively
118
and you start to realize that you like life more
119
and you're like oh this is good like let me uh double down on this let me up the dosage of hope
120
You know what I mean?
121
I just think that if you stay attached so hard to a specific outcome,
122
it's probably not, it's probably not going to end your way because oftentimes in life,
123
the outcome is positive, but not in the way that you thought it was.
124
And just deviating from the mean, the mean being just like anything being different from what you expected will oftentimes make you feel weird about it.
125
So detach from the outcome, whatever you're doing, your job, your relationship, a career pursuit, whatever you're trying.
126
It's like, I know this is cliche advice, but you just, you have to accept,
127
Hey, it's not going to work out exactly how I want it.
128
That, that, that universe where that happens doesn't exist.
129
It's not going to happen exactly how you want it.
130
So just get obsessed with just thinking positively.
131
Okay.
132
It didn't happen.
133
I want it.
134
That's a good thing.
135
Cause I wasn't ready or it's what if it ends up better than I could have ever imagined?
136
Cause the only thing people ever think about is the loss and human psychology.
137
The fear of loss is two times greater than the desire to gain.
138
And so people are always thinking, Oh, like loss, loss, loss.
139
Like what if this doesn't work out what if
140
that doesn't work out bro you just
141
you just gotta let it be that's that's it you gotta let it be
142
because if you if you are
143
so stuck on an outcome you will be a slave to
144
that outcome and also you might realize in your own personal experience
145
that oftentimes the outcome never happens when you want it to happen
146
so badly it doesn't when you stop caring that's
147
when it happens that's just it's it's life is funny that way you get teased god is teasing you a little bit.
148
He's saying, stop trying so hard and just have some faith and trust in me.
149
I think that becoming addicted to believing that everything is going to work out.
150
Pronoia, not paranoia, pronoia.
151
Is potentially one of the greatest habits you could ever establish in your life.
152
Everything else would just coincide with that.
153
And it's not about being naive.
154
It's not about dumbing yourself down or anything like that it's just i i think it's just
155
accepting that you don't know what's going to happen
156
so let's let me trust in god let me trust in the universe and it's going to be as it is
157
i think in the end
158
if you can real peace is not making sure everything always works out it's knowing
159
that you're going to be fine regardless of how things work out that's it thank you guys for watching
