10,000 invitations, 60 plus occupations that were handed out 189 invitation rounds on the 4th of June, 2026.
2
That was the absolute last 189 invitation rounds for the financial year 2025 to 2026.
3
A lot of people DM me saying, Johnny, I got invited at 65 points.
4
And while some other people said, nah, I'm on 95 but haven't received any invitations.
5
My EOI been around for almost two years and it is expiring.
6
Help, what should I do?
7
So let me break it down to you as to what happened in the 189 invitation rounds on the 4th of June,
8
2026 and then what you can do to get an invitation and how you should set your expectations.
9
Without further ado, let's get started.
10
Hi, if it is the first time you come to my channel, welcome.
11
My name is Johnny, I'm a migration lawyer based in Sydney and I post daily content on TikTok,
12
Instagram and YouTube Shorts in order to help migrants like you to get PR faster.
13
The 4th of June round was the final 189 round in the financial year ending on the 30th of June, 2026.
14
10,000 invitations were invited, so that was a very big round.
15
And the point scored range between 65 to 100.
16
It really depends on occupation.
17
Who are the absolute winners?
18
Carpenter, Glazer, War and Floor, Tyler.
19
All of them got invited at 65 points.
20
Solid plasterer, breaklayer, they're at 70 points.
21
Fantastic.
22
And the higher education people, social workers, engineering managers, lab scientists,
23
secondary school teachers, all reported to receive invitations around at the 80 points mark physiotherapist psychologists around 85 points
24
and all the other ones telecom engineers previously we thought they won't get any invitation even though they have quotas
25
because they sit in tier 4
26
but thank god they got invitations 95 points chemists biotechnologists they also have 100 points invitations
27
so now Now you got like 35 points gap ranging from 65 all the way to 100.
28
All of them are legible but it really depends on the occupation.
29
What it means to you if you didn't get invited?
30
If you didn't get invitations, that means a few things.
31
Number one is your occupation on the list.
32
Number two, does your occupation have any quotas for the 189?
33
Because if you're in ICT or in accounting, no. Like there's no way you can get anything because there's no quota.
34
If your occupations actually have invitations in the previous two rounds for 189 and also have quotas, that means that your points is too low.
35
Say the cutoff is 85 points and you're like below 85.
36
Or you're at 85 points but your EOI was pretty recent.
37
Because how they invite people is they group people based on points, 100 points 95 or 90.
38
And then they start inviting people inside the category by going from the oldest EOI to the most recent EOIs.
39
So they just keep going.
40
So probably you just got to wait for another round then you might be able to receive an invitation.
41
Now, if your occupation has constantly not getting invited, then chances are you probably won't in the future.
42
So make sure you double check on the requirement and consider Plan B, for example, Employee Sponsored Visa Program, which I talk a lot about it.
43
So what is the bigger picture?
44
For the 189 invitation rounds, what is happening is that we are seeing more occupation getting invited, instead of in the previous rounds before the tier system comes out.
45
They just randomly invite people or actively competing against the state nomination program, the 198491.
46
So we can see that the 189 program, they are now going a bigger length, like a broader spectrum.
47
So we see occupations that previously wouldn't really got invited.
48
Tennis coach got invited, dancer got invited, and art managers got invited.
49
These occupations would be very difficult to get onto the 189 or 491 realistically.
50
But now the 189 program, they're here to invite all these people, which is good, isn't it?
51
So for the 189 program, on a strategy perspective, this is what I see is
52
that the government is trying to invite more occupations that will not get captured in the 190 and 491 program, for example, dancer, tennis coach, et cetera,
53
and then try to use the 189 invitation round to diversify the different level of skills of people coming into Australia.
54
Because we can't invite every single accountants or ICT, doctors, nurses, even though we want them, but it's bad for the future, right?
55
We want these people, then these people will get captured through the state nomination program and also part of the 189 program,
56
but the 189 program will also invite occupations that have been around for a long time, always in shortage, but there's no occupations or no one is capturing those.
57
And for some occupations, you don't really get 189, not because the federal government or the state government don't want you,
58
it's probably because most of these occupations were already captured through the 482 program.
59
In the 482 program, most engineers, they went through the 482 program or the 190491, but most of them get sponsored by employers.
60
And also same thing goes to ICT and accountants, and a lot of people,
61
they just go through these occupations in the 482 and employer-sponsored visa program or the 186 direct entry program.
62
And if you didn't get selected for this invitation round on the 4th of June 2026, I wouldn't get discouraged.
63
Make sure you work on your points, like if the higher the merrier and also double check your occupations to see whether
64
or not people can actually get invited in that occupations and also launch your EOI early,
65
make sure it's valid and make sure all your documentations are recent and everything is ready to go.
66
Of course that's the plan A
67
but you know always have the plan B ready to go for example employer-sponsored visa program
68
or the 190 and 491 program all of these are very good programs
69
and they will get you pr through there if you're watching this video
70
and you're not too sure where your ui sits
71
and what's your chances for the 189 the 190 and 491
72
and what's your absolute best options scan the qr codes throughout the video
73
or just comment data below then i'll send you the full 189 data breakdown for this invitation rounds
74
so that you get the numbers in front of you
75
and you can analyze what's going on alternatively if If you want to talk to us, hit one of the QR codes throughout the video
76
and then you will be able to book a consultation with us
77
and we'll be able to assess it and give you a personalized migration plan as to what you should do.
78
I hope it helps and that's the end of this episode and I'll see you in the next episode.

|---|---|
| 被动语态 be + 过去分词 — 强调发生了什么,而不是谁做的 | were handed · were invited · were already captured |
| 现在完成时 have/has + 过去分词 — 过去发生但与现在仍有关联的事 | haven't received · have been |
