1
I am packing and I'm going to be moving to Canada and living there for two years.
2
And yes, the suitcase is on the bed.
3
Okay, here's my suitcase.
4
It's on the bed.
5
It's fine.
6
I have a blanket down and this blanket is the blanket that I usually use for my dog, Wilson.
7
When my dog, Wilson, is on my bed, he's normally sat on this blanket it
8
so it's fine it's like a black a long black skirt i don't go to any formal events
9
and i have to finish finish packing this is impossible i have
10
so much stuff you can see this pile of clothes
11
and laundry over here i have so much stuff to get into the suitcase
12
so I think we just need to start packing.
13
The only thing I have in here so far is this.
14
So these are some workout clothes for going to the gym and I have two birthday cards.
15
It's my birthday in two weeks so I have these birthday cards as well
16
and honestly for this part of the video we are just going to pack
17
and I will film some of it
18
but honestly this is going to be such a long process
19
so I'm just going to start grabbing some things and we're going to go.
20
My trip is kind of split into like two parts.
21
For the first part I'm going to be in Spain
22
so I need to split my like summer clothes
23
and my winter clothes because in Canada I'm obviously going to need the winter clothes a lot more than the summer clothes.
24
I have here, these are some of my favourite jeans
25
so I'm gonna pack those i then have some trousers like a couple these are a couple tops
26
and uh these are these are pajamas and here's like 100 socks i'm gonna start with trousers and we'll go from there
27
jeans
28
I'm gonna bring maybe like four pairs of trousers I actually
29
I bought these recently can you see they're like this super cool pair of like dark wash denim jeans
30
and actually I heard recently
31
that skinny jeans are coming back into fashion like skinny jeans are in again
32
and i am not happy i'm not happy about skinny jeans being cool again
33
because i just think that baggy i just like baggy clothes
34
and i like a baggy silhouette in fashion like a baggy shape baggy is
35
when like clothes are too big i'm not happy that now we're going too skinny
36
i have another pair of jeans these ones are from hollister
37
and in basically every single vlog i think i'm wearing these jeans they're the hollister low -rise baggy flare
38
and i wear these like every day
39
and then this is a black skirt this is by the brand oh dress in i don't know it it's vintage
40
it's like a black a long black skirt black maxi skirt i'm going away
41
and i'm staying in canada until christmas at christmas i'm going to come back
42
because i always spend christmas in the uk like Christmas is our biggest holiday in the UK
43
so I want to be here then and in my head I'm thinking
44
that I don't need to bring like everything to Canada right now I just need to bring the essential things
45
that I think I will want for the next three months and then I can bring more stuff afterwards.
46
While I pack, I am going to watch a YouTube video.
47
That's my, that's my plan.
48
Can I show you guys?
49
Can I show you guys this dress that I bought in a charity shop?
50
Ignore the mess ignore the mess i'm packing look at this dress i bought isn't that amazing
51
i got this in a in a charity shop
52
and i thought it was
53
so beautiful for like a formal event i don't go to any formal events
54
but i thought it was so pretty
55
and it has all of these like all of these stripes in here that are made out of ribbons.
56
If you want to know the brand it's Isabel,
57
Isabel London with a z but it is so cute and I'm going to bring this as like a as a formal, a formal dress.
58
I also want to show you this dress which is amazing
59
that I have
60
so I used to live in California I think I've mentioned
61
this before I used to live in California in San Diego
62
and I was shopping once like in the thrift stores in La Jolla
63
which is basically the Beverly Hills of San Diego
64
and I found this dress it was by the designer Helmut Lang and I got it for like $30.
65
How beautiful and it's got like a no back and every time I go on vacation I wear this dress.
66
I used to wear it in San Diego all the time
67
but in the UK it's like a bit too fancy so if I have space I will bring this but we'll see.
68
I think like my big suitcase is kind of nearly done
69
and then I have my small suitcase there
70
and I'm going to tell you something insane about me
71
so I got asked by one of my students the other day she said to me
72
when you leave the UK like
73
when you live abroad is there anything from the UK
74
that you cannot live without and I said yeah there is it's bedding like the things
75
that you put on your bed
76
because at least in America people typically use like they use like a blanket
77
and then they put a they call it like a comforter on top
78
and this comforter is like usually a thick blanket um
79
and I hate it I hate it like in the UK
80
I have always basically my whole life I have slept with
81
a duvet like this like with a with a duvet
82
and now unless I'm like on vacation in a country that's
83
really really hot I hate sleeping without a duvet in particular I like a duvet with feathers inside
84
but I am vegetarian so I don't eat meat
85
and I don't like buying feather duvets or feather pillows
86
because they like obviously take the feathers from geese
87
or from ducks um so when I travel I take a duvet
88
and pillows with me because I won't buy I will not buy new feather pillows
89
or new like a new feather duvet this is just me like this is me being weird
90
so in my suitcase half of what I have packed like
91
half of this suitcase is clothes the other half of that suitcase is going to be a duvet and pillows
92
but obviously it's quite difficult to like get all of that to fit so I have these
93
this is a vacuum bag
94
and I'm going to vacuum like vacuum everything down not too much
95
but a little bit so
96
that it fits in my suitcase i know that's crazy what you do is you fill the bag
97
then you need to seal it so you seal it you close it here
98
so here it is and it's sealed and then you push the air out And there you go.
99
Two cushions.
100
I'm going to do the same thing to this.
101
Another thing that I cannot live without.
102
This is an electric blanket.
103
So this blanket warms up and I love this thing.
104
I save so much money.
105
on heating, like heating the house when I have this.
106
I used to use it at university because my house in London was so cold.
107
So I used this and it was the best thing ever.
108
Actually, like as a person, I'm a serious planner.
109
Like I have a plan for everything um but
110
when it comes to like packing
111
or needing certain things in certain places I just like don't care I really don't care
112
if I like don't have everything
113
that I need we we call this like I have a
114
bit of a make do attitude a make do attitude so
115
if you make something do it's like you make whatever you
116
have with you work I will make do with whatever is in this suitcase
117
and I will survive you know I'm gonna just make do
118
with it I don't care the only thing I cannot make
119
do without is a duvet seriously I need one obviously
120
if I travel I don't mind if it's different but for living somewhere long term oh my god so unscrew this
121
so here are my feather cushions perfect let's see it's now
122
pretty late it is 10 to 11 I'm going to stop here
123
and I'll do more tomorrow I don't have to leave until about 3 p .m
124
so I have time we're packing again with Wilson here's Wilson it's the next day I have no makeup on
125
and I literally just shoved my hair up so probably looks shit
126
but I am now going to try
127
and get the feather duvet in this suitcase ignore the mess
128
what do you think do you have faith do you have faith
129
that I can do this I have faith guys I have faith okay
130
yeah i know and i know what you were thinking you thought this is impossible
131
but it isn't it's not impossible look at this we're nearly there
132
i also i did not tell you but i also put a coat in here I added more stuff
133
yep yep that is an electric blanket two pillows like feather cushions a double queen -size duvet
134
a puffer coat and all of my winter clothes in one and there she is and now we have to
135
make sure that it's not too heavy
136
and I have to finish finish packing this is known as like my personal items bag
137
and I don't know if you can see
138
but this thing is full of tech like it's got my
139
keyboard in it it's got it's gonna have this camera in it it's gonna have my hard drive everything
140
and I know that security again I like hate this bag full of like a keyboard
141
and cables and everything
142
and then here is my big suitcase I paid extra to have like a heavier bag allowance
143
so it needs to weigh less than 23 kilograms
144
which I'm really hoping that it will like I don't think I should have any problems with
145
that but hi I'm now filming this from Spain
146
so I'm here in the villa right now i haven't really filmed very much or actually anything about my journey because
147
basically what i did is i flew from the uk to spain for a family vacation is to celebrate
148
basically the birthday of one of my family members
149
and basically tomorrow is when i fly to canada I'm gonna try
150
and like film a little bit from that part of the journey
151
but right now it is about eight o 'clock well 10 to 8 at night
152
and everything is packed like my suitcase is in the car everything is ready we're going to go out
153
and enjoy like one more night in Spain
154
and then tomorrow at I think 7am I need to leave to go to the airport to start my journey to Canada.
155
I will see you then.
