It is a mission to bring the fallen home and return their identities.

Today, more than 175,000 martyrs remain unaccounted for,

while more than 300,000 graves have yet to be identified,

leaving many families still searching for answers.

the remains of Vietnamese martyrs

and military experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos have returned home after more than half a century,

a long-awaited return to their homeland.

This is the happiest moment for our family after years of searching.

Our grandparents never got the chance to see this day,

but at last we have found our loved ones and brought them home." To recover these nine sets of remains,

search teams traveled through 126 villages in six provinces of northern Laos,

often tracking one to two days through remote areas to reach the search sites.

Since the war has ended,

extensive efforts have been made to search for and identify fallen soldiers.

Much of the easier work has already been completed,

leaving more challenging cases behind.

The ongoing 500-day campaign aims to recover 7,000 sets of remains and identify around 18,000 more.

We are determined to complete this mission.

If additional search teams or demining efforts are needed, we will mobilize them.

No matter how difficult the task,

we will continue until more fallen soldiers are found and more families receive the answers they have been waiting for.

During the 2025-2026 dry season,

search teams recovered 974 sets of mattress remains.

At the same time, DNA testing is being expanded nationwide to help identify unknown remains.
