1
Hello, everyone.
2
Welcome to our podcast.
3
My name is Elia, and today I am here with my friend, Daniel.
4
We talk about easy topics in English.
5
Hi, Elia, and hi, everyone.
6
I'm Daniel.
7
I'm very happy to be here with you today.
8
I think today's topic is something many people understand.
9
Yes, Daniel.
10
Today, we are talking about a very interesting question.
11
Why do I feel stuck in life?
12
Sometimes we feel like we are moving, but nothing really changes.
13
That is true.
14
You can work every day, study every day, and take care of many things, but still feel like you're standing in the same place.
15
Exactly.
16
You may look at your life and think, I am trying, but why am I not going anywhere?
17
Maybe you have a job, friends, family, and normal daily activities.
18
But inside, you may feel tired, confused, or unhappy.
19
You may want something different, but you do not know exactly what that different thing is.
20
I think feeling stuck is very common.
21
It does not always mean your life is bad.
22
Sometimes everything looks okay from the outside, but you still feel that something is missing.
23
I agree, and I think that feeling can be difficult to explain.
24
Someone may ask, what is wrong?
25
And you may say, nothing, but inside you know something feels different.
26
Have you ever felt stuck, Daniel?
27
I think I have sometimes I wake up in the morning
28
and do the same things again and again I work eat use my phone sleep
29
and repeat yes I have definitely felt
30
that way sometimes I look at the calendar
31
and think where did the last three months go the days move quickly
32
but I don't feel progress that is a strange feeling.
33
You are busy, but you don't feel like you are moving toward anything important.
34
You are doing many things, but you are not sure why you are doing them.
35
I think that is one important part of feeling stuck.
36
You can be very busy without having a clear direction.
37
Being busy does not always mean you are making progress.
38
So maybe the first question is not, how can I do more?
39
Maybe the better question is, what am I actually trying to do with my life?
40
That is a powerful question.
41
Sometimes we keep working hard because we think working harder will solve everything.
42
But if we are going in the wrong direction, more speed does not help.
43
I like that idea.
44
Imagine you are driving a car.
45
You can drive very fast, but if you are going to the wrong place, driving faster will only take you farther away.
46
Exactly.
47
And sometimes we don't know where we want to go.
48
That can make us feel even more stuck.
49
We have energy, but we do not have a clear destination.
50
I think another reason people feel stuck is routine.
51
Routine can be helpful, but if every day looks exactly the same, life can start to feel boring.
52
Yes.
53
A routine gives us structure, but too much routine can make every day feel like a copy of the day before.
54
Monday feels like Tuesday, Tuesday feels like Wednesday, and suddenly a whole month is gone i have experienced
55
that i wake up check my phone have breakfast work come home watch something
56
and go to bed nothing terrible happens but nothing exciting happens either
57
and then you may ask yourself is this really my life
58
that question can be uncomfortable but i think it can also be useful
59
because it makes you stop and think yes
60
because feeling stuck can sometimes be a message maybe your mind is telling you
61
that something needs attention maybe you need a change a new goal
62
or simply some time to understand yourself I agree
63
but I think we should be careful feeling stuck does not
64
mean you need to completely change your life tomorrow sometimes one small change can make a big difference.
65
That is important.
66
People sometimes think, I hate my life, so I need a new job, a new city, new friends, and a completely new lifestyle.
67
And that can feel impossible.
68
When you already feel tired, a huge plan can make you feel more tired.
69
You look at all the changes and think, I cannot do all of that.
70
So maybe we should start small.
71
If you feel stuck, ask yourself one simple question.
72
What is one thing I would like to change?
73
It could be something very small.
74
Maybe you want to sleep earlier.
75
Maybe you want to walk every morning.
76
Maybe you want to read again or spend less time on your phone.
77
Or maybe you want to talk to someone.
78
Sometimes we keep our feelings inside because we think we should solve everything alone.
79
That is a big one.
80
Talking can help us understand our thoughts.
81
When an idea stays inside your head, it can feel confusing.
82
When you say it out loud, it can become clearer.
83
I notice that when I talk to a friend about a problem, sometimes I find the answer while I'm talking.
84
The other person doesn't even need to give me advice.
85
Yes.
86
Sometimes we don't need someone to fix our problem.
87
We just need someone to listen.
88
A good conversation can help us see our situation from another angle.
89
Another reason people feel stuck is comparison.
90
We look at other people's lives and think they are moving faster than us.
91
Social media can make this worse.
92
You see someone traveling, getting a new job, buying a house, starting a business, or reaching a goal, and you think, what am I doing?
93
But we only see a small part of their life.
94
We see the picture, not the whole story.
95
We do not see their worries, mistakes, problems, or difficult days.
96
Exactly.
97
Comparing your everyday life with someone else's best moments is not fair.
98
You may be comparing your full story with only one small page from their story.
99
I really like that.
100
Everyone has a different timeline.
101
Some people reach their goals early, and some people need more time.
102
And there is nothing wrong with that.
103
Life is not a race where everyone needs to arrive at the same place at the same age.
104
Sometimes I think we feel stuck because we believe we should already be somewhere else.
105
We think, at my age I should have done this, or by now I should have achieved that.
106
Those thoughts can create a lot of pressure.
107
We create a picture of where we think we should be, and then we feel bad because our real life does not match that picture.
108
Maybe instead of asking, why am I not there yet, we can ask, where am I now, and what can I do from here?
109
That question feels much kinder.
110
You cannot change yesterday, and you cannot live tomorrow today.
111
You can only work with the situation you have right now.
112
I think accepting where you are is not the same as giving up.
113
Some people hear the word acceptance and think it means, I will never change.
114
But acceptance can simply mean seeing reality clearly.
115
You say, this is where I am today.
116
Then you can decide what you want to do next.
117
Yes.
118
If you do not know where you are, it is difficult to choose a direction.
119
First, understand your present situation.
120
Then think about your next step.
121
And the next step does not need to be huge.
122
It can be one phone call, one application, one page of a book, one walk, or one honest conversation.
123
I think we often underestimate small actions.
124
We want a big result, so we ignore small progress.
125
But small progress is still progress.
126
Definitely.
127
If you walk 10 minutes every day, that's better than planning a two -hour walk and never doing it.
128
Small actions are easier to repeat.
129
And repetition creates habits.
130
A habit may look boring at first, but after some time it can change the way you live.
131
That's true.
132
If you feel stuck, maybe you don't need a perfect plan.
133
Maybe you need one small action that you can repeat tomorrow.
134
I also think fear can make us feel stuck.
135
Sometimes we know what we want, but we're afraid to try because we might fail.
136
Yes.
137
Fear says, stay where you are.
138
It's safer here.
139
And sometimes staying still feels easier than taking a risk.
140
But staying still also has a cost.
141
If you never try anything new, you may always wonder what could have happened.
142
That's true.
143
We cannot know the result before we try.
144
We can prepare, learn, and make careful choices, but we cannot control everything.
145
So maybe feeling stuck is sometimes connected to fear, routine, comparison, or not having a clear direction.
146
Yes, and there can be many other reasons too.
147
The important thing is to notice the feeling instead of ignoring it.
148
Once you understand it, you can start making small changes.
149
I think another important reason people feel stuck is that they have lost touch with what they really want.
150
Sometimes we follow a path because other people expect it.
151
Yes, maybe your family expects you to choose a certain job, or your friends think you should live a certain way.
152
You may follow their ideas without asking yourself what you want.
153
This can happen slowly.
154
When we are young, people ask us what we want to become.
155
Later, we choose something and then we keep going because changing direction feels difficult.
156
And sometimes we are afraid that changing our path means we made a bad decision before
157
but I do not think that is always true.
158
Learning that something is not right for you is also useful.
159
I agree.
160
We sometimes think every decision must be permanent, but life changes and people change too.
161
What was right for you five years ago may not be right for you today.
162
That is a very important idea.
163
You are allowed to change your mind.
164
You can learn something new about yourself and choose a different direction.
165
I think this is especially difficult when you have already spent many years doing something.
166
You may think, I have already spent so much time, so I cannot stop now.
167
Yes, that can make people feel trapped.
168
They think about the time they already spent, instead of thinking about how they want to spend the next few years.
169
Maybe we should ask ourselves, if I could start again today, what would I choose?
170
Not because we can erase the past, but because the question can show us what we really want.
171
I like that question.
172
It can be uncomfortable, but sometimes uncomfortable questions help us understand ourselves better.
173
Another thing that makes people feel stuck is having too many choices.
174
That sounds strange because choices seem like freedom, but too many choices can make decisions harder.
175
Absolutely.
176
If you have 10 possible jobs, 10 hobbies, and 10 places you could live, you may spend so much time thinking that you never choose anything.
177
I know that feeling.
178
Sometimes I spend more time deciding what to do than actually doing something.
179
I make a big list, look at it, and then feel tired.
180
I have done that too.
181
Sometimes the perfect choice does not exist.
182
You just need to choose one reasonable option and learn from the experience.
183
That is a good point.
184
We do not always need certainty before we act.
185
Sometimes action gives us information that thinking cannot give us.
186
Exactly.
187
You may think you want something, but after trying it, you discover that you do not enjoy it.
188
That is not failure, that is information.
189
And maybe this is why small experiments can help.
190
Instead of saying, I will change my whole career, you could try a short course or talk to someone in that field.
191
Yes, you can test an idea before making a huge decision.
192
This can make change feel less frightening.
193
Another reason people feel stuck is that they expect motivation to come first.
194
They think, when I feel motivated, I will start.
195
But motivation does not always come before action.
196
Sometimes you start first, and motivation comes later.
197
Even a little action can create energy.
198
That happens to me.
199
I may not want to clean my room, but I tell myself I will clean for five minutes.
200
After five minutes, I often want to continue.
201
The first step is sometimes the hardest part.
202
Once you begin, the task feels smaller because you are no longer only thinking about it.
203
Thinking can make a problem look bigger than it really is.
204
When something stays in your head, you imagine all the difficult parts.
205
Yes, but when you take one real step, you see what the problem is actually like.
206
Sometimes it is difficult, but sometimes it is much easier than you expected.
207
I also think perfectionism can make people feel stuck.
208
They want to do everything perfectly so they are afraid to begin.
209
That is very common.
210
Someone wants to start learning English, for example, but they think their pronunciation must be perfect before they speak.
211
Exactly.
212
Then they wait, study more, and wait again.
213
Months can pass, but they still do not speak because they are afraid of making mistakes.
214
Making mistakes is part of learning.
215
If you wait until you are perfect, you may wait forever.
216
Progress usually comes from practice, mistakes, and trying again.
217
The same thing happens with many areas of life.
218
We want the perfect business idea, the perfect job the perfect relationship or the perfect plan and
219
while we're waiting for perfect conditions time continues to move sometimes good enough is better than perfect
220
but never started i think we should also talk about energy sometimes people feel stuck because they are simply exhausted
221
they have been working hard for a long time without enough rest yes
222
when you are tired all the time even simple tasks can feel difficult you may think you're lazy
223
but maybe your body and mind need recovery
224
that is why rest is important rest is not always wasting time sleeping well taking a walk spending quiet time
225
and enjoying a healthy break can help us continue
226
and sometimes the answer is not to do more sometimes the answer is to stop for a moment
227
and recover after good rest you may see your situation more
228
clearly i also think our environment can affect how stuck we feel
229
if every day happens in the same place with the same people
230
and the same activities we may need a little change it
231
doesn't have to be a huge change you could work in
232
a different place walk on a new street visit a library
233
or have coffee somewhere you've never been small changes can wake up our attention.
234
When everything is familiar, we sometimes stop noticing what's around us.
235
That is true.
236
A new experience can give you a new thought.
237
You may meet someone, learn something, or discover an interest you didn't know you had.
238
Another useful thing is writing.
239
When I feel confused, I sometimes write my thoughts on paper.
240
I do not worry about grammar or making it beautiful.
241
What do you write about?
242
I ask myself simple questions.
243
What is making me unhappy?
244
What do I want more of?
245
What do I want less of?
246
What am I afraid of?
247
What would I change if I were not afraid?
248
Those are powerful questions.
249
Writing can slow your thoughts down.
250
Instead of having ten ideas in your head at the same time, you can look at them one by one.
251
And sometimes the answer is surprisingly simple.
252
You may discover that you do not need a completely new life.
253
You may only need to change one part of your current life.
254
Maybe you need more time with people you love.
255
Maybe you need a hobby, more movement, less screen time, or a goal that gives your days more meaning.
256
I think meaning is very important.
257
When we feel that our daily actions have a purpose, life can feel different.
258
Even difficult work can feel easier when we know why we are doing it.
259
Yes, if you know why something matters, you can handle more difficulty.
260
But when you do not know why you are doing something, even a small task can feel heavy.
261
So if someone feels stuck today, maybe they can stop and ask, What is important to me right now?
262
The answer does not need to be perfect.
263
It can change later.
264
The goal is simply to understand yourself a little better and use that understanding to make one honest choice.
265
I think one of the most helpful things we can do
266
when we feel stuck is to stop asking why everything is wrong and start asking what we can change.
267
Yes, because we cannot control everything in our lives.
268
We cannot control other people, the past, or every problem that comes to us.
269
But we can control some of our choices.
270
We can choose what we do today.
271
We can choose who we spend time with.
272
We can choose what we learn, what we practice, and what habits we build.
273
And we can choose how we respond when something does not go as planned.
274
That does not mean difficult feelings disappear, but it can help us feel less powerless.
275
I like the idea of focusing on what is in our control.
276
When I think about everything I cannot change, I feel tired.
277
When I focus on one thing I can change, I feel more hopeful.
278
That is true.
279
Sometimes the first step out of feeling stuck is simply taking responsibility for one small part of your life.
280
For example, If you do not like your job, you may not be able to leave tomorrow, but you can update your resume,
281
learn a new skill, or look at other opportunities.
282
If you feel lonely, you may not suddenly have 10 new friends, but you can send one message, join one group, or start one conversation.
283
If you feel unhealthy, you do not need to change everything in one day.
284
You can start by walking for 10 minutes, drinking more water, or going to bed a little earlier.
285
These actions may look small, but they give you something very important.
286
Movement.
287
When you take action, you are no longer completely still.
288
And I think movement creates hope.
289
When you see yourself doing something, even something small, you begin to believe that change is possible.
290
Exactly.
291
Secondly, confidence often grows from action.
292
You do not always need confidence before you begin.
293
Sometimes you become more confident because you began.
294
That is a great point.
295
Many people wait to feel ready.
296
But maybe readiness is not a feeling.
297
Maybe it's something we build by starting.
298
Yes.
299
You can say, I am nervous, but I will try.
300
You can say, I do not know everything, but I can learn you can say I made mistakes before
301
but I can try again I think that's a healthier way
302
to talk to yourself the words we use in our own mind can affect how we see our situation definitely
303
if you constantly say I am stuck nothing will change I
304
am NOT good enough your mind may start believing those sentences
305
but we should also be realistic positive thinking does not mean pretending that everything is wonderful.
306
Sometimes life is genuinely difficult.
307
I agree.
308
You can be hopeful and honest at the same time.
309
You can say, this is hard right now, but I can look for one thing that may help.
310
That feels much more natural to me.
311
We do not need to force ourselves to feel happy every day.
312
We just need to keep looking for a useful next step.
313
And sometimes that next step is asking for help.
314
There's no shame in saying, I'm having a difficult time and I need someone to talk to.
315
Yes.
316
Friends, family numbers, teachers, mentors, or other trusted people can sometimes give us support or a different point of view.
317
Sometimes another person can see possibilities that we cannot see because we're too close to our own problem.
318
I also want to remind our listeners that progress is not always visible.
319
You may be learning, growing, or becoming stronger without seeing a big result immediately.
320
That is very important.
321
A plant does not become a tree in one day.
322
You water it, give it light, and wait.
323
Growth takes time.
324
I like that example.
325
Sometimes we look at other people and see their results, but we do not see all the small steps that came before those results.
326
Exactly.
327
We see someone's success, but we may not see the years of practice, mistakes, waiting, and learning behind it.
328
So if you feel behind in life, remember that your timeline is your own.
329
You do not need to copy another person's path.
330
You can learn from other people, but you do not have to become them.
331
Your goals, your situation, and your needs may be completely different.
332
And maybe being stuck is sometimes a transition.
333
You are leaving an old part of your life, but you have not fully entered the new part yet.
334
That can feel confusing.
335
You know that something needs to change, but you do not know exactly what the new direction will be.
336
In that situation, patience can be useful.
337
You can explore.
338
You can try different things.
339
You can learn about yourself without demanding an immediate answer.
340
Yes.
341
You do not have to know your whole future today.
342
Sometimes knowing the next step is enough.
343
I think that is one of the biggest lessons from our conversation.
344
We often want a complete map of our lives.
345
But maybe we only need enough light to see the next few steps.
346
Beautifully said, Elia.
347
I think if I had a map for my whole life, I would probably still get lost somewhere.
348
Me too.
349
And maybe getting lost is not always terrible.
350
Sometimes you discover something interesting when you take a road you did not plan to take.
351
That is true.
352
Life does not always follow our plans.
353
Some unexpected changes bring new people, new skills, and new opportunities.
354
So, if you feel stuck today, do not immediately think your whole life is wrong.
355
Take a breath and look at your situation carefully.
356
Ask yourself what is making you feel stuck.
357
Is it fear?
358
Is it routine?
359
Are you comparing yourself to others?
360
Are you tired?
361
Do you need a new goal?
362
Then choose one small action.
363
Do not choose 20 actions.
364
One is enough.
365
Make one phone call, take one walk, write one page, learn one thing, or have one honest conversation.
366
And after that, take another small step tomorrow.
367
You do not need to change your life overnight.
368
You just need to keep moving in a direction that feels meaningful to you.
369
I also want to say that resting is okay.
370
You are not behind because you need a break.
371
Sometimes stopping for a while helps you return with more energy.
372
Yes.
373
Rest and progress can exist together.
374
You can slow down without giving up.
375
You can take care of yourself while still moving forward.
376
Daniel, if you could give one simple message to someone who feels stuck today, what would you say?
377
I would say, do not wait for your whole life to become clear.
378
Start with one small thing you can understand and change today.
379
I love that.
380
My message would be, be patient with yourself.
381
You are not required to have everything figured out right now.
382
And remember that your current situation is not necessarily your final situation.
383
Things can change, especially when you begin making small and consistent choices.
384
We talked about many reasons people feel stuck today.
385
We talked about routine, fear, comparison, perfectionism, tiredness, too many choices,
386
and losing touch with what we really want.
387
We also talked about small actions, meaningful goals, accepting the present, asking for help, trying new things,
388
and giving yourself time to grow.
389
I hope this conversation helped you think about your own life in a calm and simple way way.
390
Maybe you found one idea that feels useful for you.
391
And remember, you do not need to understand your whole future today.
392
Sometimes one clear step is enough, and tomorrow you can decide on the step after that.
393
Thank you so much for spending your time with us today.

400
Your English can improve step by step, and your life can also change step by step.
401
Thank you for listening, everyone.
402
