In this video we will explain how to assign calendar in each activity.

To do that you will click on excavation activity for example

and you go under general activity calendar

and you choose from display you have the global project calendars

and we created one project calendar right now so you click on project calendar you will have project A for contractor work.

The excavation activity is undertaken by the contractor

so contractor calendar will be assigned for this activity

and you click the plus sign here to do

that for the compaction again you will assign for contractor

so what about if you have more activities here it is very time-consuming to go over each activity

and review which calendar was assigned here so you can right-click columns

and you search from the available option calendar

and double click it will be shown here okay

so this is all the calendars here and what about other two activities here they also will be executed by the contractor.

So instead of doing this one by one, you can use the fill down option.

You can click on this activity and I want to match it to the completion of foundation.

So this activity first, you click on the calendar, then control on the keyboard,

then completion of foundation right click fill down then it will be assigned to the contractor

if you wanna do this quickly you have to select first the activity

which has your desired calendar then go to the destination activity

so let's do that for the start of foundation I wanna also have it project a contractor calendar

so you click on any activity which has the project a contractor calendar then

and also you have to click on the calendar column here not here

or here the contractor calendar so the calendar column

because you want to fill down the calendar column control on

the keyboard click on the start of foundation right click then

fill down i have only one calendar assigned here in the project

but what about the engineering work maybe I will have one activity.

It's called Submitter Review

and approval by the consultant consultant maybe will work only five days per week not six days per week

so the contractor has a calendar

if you remember the project a calendar project a contractor calendar had six days working days

but for the consultant it has only five days so you create a new calendar

You assign it to the engineers activities or the consultant activities so you can go to enterprise calendar

I will also add a new calendar

and I you don't want to do the same for a new global calendar

so I will have the same contractor calendar again and I will rename it project a consultant

and I will go to modify

and maybe they are off the consultant is off on site

for Friday on Saturday I will go to total work hours per day then work week

so Saturday will be zero so it will automatically be here

so for the consultant he will not be working on Friday

and saturdays then click ok

when we have the duration here it will reflect only the working days

so if i assign the new calendar i have just created into any activity it will skip any friday

and saturday they will not count that

so it will reflect on dates as well in significant way

so this is how you assign calendars

and use the fill down option fill down also is not

exclusive for calendar assignments you can do it for duration as well

so for excavation it has for example eight days

so you want to compaction eight days as well this is only an example

but you can apply it into huge set of data in

the schedule you click on the original duration column control compaction

this is my destination i want to show eight days here as well right click

and fill down so it became eight days as well

so i will revert this back into six days and

if you remember also i showed this before as 10 days

but now it's eight days the reason for that is

because i assigned a new calendar to match the overall dates

so the original duration was reduced also to eight days

so make sure

that you assign calendars properly first then you adjust the original

duration later on in the next lesson we will talk about columns and time scale
