OK.

So, which property are you interested in?

The apartment on Statham Street.

Let me see.
77
I'm afraid that flat's no longer available.
78
No?
79
No. It went this morning.
80
It's in a really popular part of town.
81
We do have a house on the same street, if you're interested.
82
It's £950 a month.
83
Er, no. I think that's much too expensive.
84
I think an apartment is all we can afford.
85
Oh, so it's not just for you?
86
No, me and a friend.
87
We're both starting work in the town next month.
88
Oh, right.
89
So it's two of you. So, let's see.
90
Do you have any preferences in terms of location?
91
Both our jobs are in the town centre, so it would be good to be within walking distance of that,
92
or perhaps a short bus journey away.
93
Neither of us have a car, so we'd be relying on public transport.
94
Mm -hmm.
95
And what's your budget?
96
I'm sorry?
97
How much can you pay a month?
98
Let me see.
99
Er...
100
700 pounds a month is probably our limit.
101
Each?
102
No, that would be for the both of us.
103
We wouldn't be able to pay more than £350 each.
104
Oh, and that would have to include bills.
105
Not phone bills, obviously, but things like electricity, gas and water.
106
OK.
107
Well, we do have a place in the Bampton district, which is about ten minutes by bus from town.
108
It's a two -bedroom apartment and it's less than your budget, at £600 a month.
109
Bills would be extra, unfortunately, but that should still work out at less than £700.
110
Although remember that electricity and gas prices are going up all the time, so I can't guarantee that.
111
Do you have an address?
112
I do.
113
The apartment number is 3 and it's at 57 Thorny Lees Road.
114

122
And if you're interested, I could arrange for a visit so you can see the place for yourself.
123
How does that sound?
124
Oh, that would be really helpful.

It's claris underscore willard at nt...
