Shadowing Practice: Tag Claude in, right where you already work - Learn English Speaking with Video

1
Hey, I'm Lydia.
2
I work on Cloud Code here at Anthropic.
3
And today we're launching Cloud Tag, which lets Cloud collaborate right alongside your team.
4
At Anthropic, we've been tagging Cloud in for most of this year.
5
So honestly, all of this is just how we work now.
6
And across Anthropic, Claude Tag opens 65% of our product pool requests.
7
So for example here, we have a team about a week out from shipping a product.
8
So what's going on in engineering?
9
Drew heard from a sales rep that one feature, scheduled exports, is the thing their biggest deals are waiting on.
10
He doesn't own it, so he asked the person who does.
11
Notice that this is all multiplayer.
12
Nadia tags Claude, Then Claude keeps up with the group thread, reacting to product decisions made in real time.
13
It opens the PR and it lands the change.
14
The cool part is that Claude knew what the feature was and where in the codebase to go.
15
It scoped each channel and the context each team has, and over time it builds memory as the work happens.
16
Claude knows here that what it just pushed affects launch marketing.
17
Claude keeps the team moving without the typical cross-team communication lag.
18
Also, notice that Priya didn't open Drive.
19
Claude made the edit itself.
20
It has its own accounts and its own permissions.
21
Cloud has access to the systems it needs on a per-team, per-channel basis.
22
So, Cloud in the legal channel can see contract information, in the engineering channel it edits the codebase.
23
But if you tag Cloud in the legal channel to edit the codebase, it won't.
24
Not because it's being polite, but because it literally could not see it.
25
Memory respects the same boundaries, so what it learned in a private channel or a DM stays there.
26
And just to repeat, Cloud has its own account, so every credential used is logged.
27
Tagging in Claude has changed how I work and how our team's adanthropic work.
28
Just add Claude to one channel, tag it in, and see what happens.
29
Let us know what you think.

  • Focus on Context: Pay attention to how the vocabulary and phrases are used in context. Not only will this improve your shadowing site skills, but it will also enhance your understanding of practical English usage.
  • Use Visual Aids: If possible, watch the video with captions. This can help improve your reading skills while you practice speaking.
  • Practice Regularly: Consistency is key. Incorporate this shadowing exercise into your daily routine, focusing on different segments each time to reinforce your learning.
  • Engage in Conversations: Try to use the newly learned vocabulary in real conversations. This will further solidify your knowledge and improve your confidence in english speaking practice.

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
