Prática de Shadowing: The Most Destructive Attack Against Abolition - Aprenda a falar inglês com vídeo

1
Hey, what's up everybody?
2
I'm out for a walk and it's been a while since I've made a video.
3
I mean, I guess it's not been that long.
4
I still got this beautiful eye that's going away.
5
But I wanted to make a short video just to talk through something
6
that needs to be talked about
7
and I want to talk about it in such a way where I'm allowed to be permissibly vague
8
because I don't want to say anything about anyone who does this in particular,
9
but I want to talk about what I believe is the number one form of attack on abolitionists.
10
The number one attack that is made against abolitionists
11
that does the most harm to the cause
12
when i mean the cause i don't mean just like the cause of abolitionist rising
13
or the success or this or that group
14
but i mean the overall cause like the thing that makes it hardest for abolitionists to pass bills
15
establishing justice and gain sort of cultural ground the number one attack
16
made against abolitionists is simply accusing us of being divisive
17
or of being harsh or of not working well with people the attacks from the world the attacks from
18
you know people who say that we are going to be bad for women
19
or bad for culture or the economy or
20
that you know like people who want to come up against us with various kinds of arguments
21
that you might think need answering the primary thing
22
that hurts the cause is whenever people say things like abolitionists don't work with people,
23
or abolitionists have beef, or abolitionists won't get along and stuff.
24
What that does, and usually it's totally unprovoked,
25
it's usually like somebody somewhere is just doing their thing, and someone says, hey, what do you think about abolitionists?
26
Have you ever worked with these abolitionists or whatever.
27
And they, without any provocation, just a question, say, oh, well, the reason I don't work with those abolitionists is because they are divisive.
28
They don't work with us.
29
They don't work with other groups.
30
In fact, all these other groups, we all work with each other just fine, but not those abolitionists.
31
Now, and you might be thinking, why is that the number one attack?
32
Well, I'll tell you, I have been watching for the past 15 years, just pretty much everything going on.
33
And we're talking about like to the level where you've got bills not passing,
34
where you've got legislators that have like been supportive and working hard all of a sudden lose their ground, lose their support, lose their strength.
35
when you start digging into what it is
36
that kind of broke them down made them less confident made
37
them less sure made them less unified made them less connected to abolitionists
38
that are helping them it was the constant whispering
39
and statement of doubt and accusation of bad character against abolitionists this is the primary thing
40
that pro -lifers did against us in the early days we
41
came on the scene calling for the total immediate abolition of
42
abortion saying basically we don't need to pass any new laws
43
we just need the laws against murder to be applied equally to everybody we were saying
44
that they were realizing that they were guilty of not doing
45
that and rather than saying hey you know what these abolitionists have a point they bristled up their pride
46
and they said well instead of saying i mean like those
47
guys got a point they said oh well those those people
48
are bad people don't listen to them don't talk to them
49
because they thought maybe if they would assassinate our characters it would protect them from criticism
50
and we've seen this kind of follow us throughout the whole
51
work um even to this day you see it leveled against
52
us i the reason i'm making this video is i saw
53
it today just out of nowhere like i'm not doing anything i'm not saying anything about anyone
54
and you know i just see a screenshot where somebody somewhere is asked a question about whether they
55
you know ever work with russell um you know
56
and uh the response isn't oh yeah you know like uh
57
i'm an abolitionist he's an abolitionist let's work together it's just
58
a sort of kind of push button repetition of yeah well
59
that guy he he he has conflict with us
60
and it didn't start with us
61
and he's just the kind of guy who has conflict with people
62
and uh and um you know in fact uh You know, we work really good with all sorts of other groups and ministries, but not with him.
63
And I'm just kind of like, okay, I didn't do anything.
64
I didn't say anything, like, to create that.
65
And this is just somebody asking a question.
66
But what happens there is somebody asks the question, do you work with this guy?
67
And rather than just saying, well, you know, especially if you agree with me, rather than saying like hey well yeah you know in various
68
ways we do you know we support the same bills we do the same work
69
and you know we've done some things with them in the past
70
and we should work to do some things in the in the present
71
and in the future and rather than saying something like that
72
or if you couldn't say that because you didn't think
73
that you could just say nothing just not answer the question
74
or at maybe the most best still negative
75
but the best less divisive less destructive thing you could say is something along the lines of
76
yeah you know um there may be some issues there
77
but we'll work on we'll work on it christ prayed
78
that we'd be unified so we should be unified thanks for the comment or something like that I don't know, acknowledge that things aren't perfect,
79
but that we would like them to be here, something like that.
80
That's certainly how I answer those questions when people ask me
81
if I work with people that maybe I don't work with well, or there's been some kind of issues.
82
At minimum, if it's a stranger and the stranger just says, hey, do you work with this person?
83
If there's any kind of issue there, usually I won't answer it.
84
Or if I do answer it, I'll say, yeah, man, I would love to and, you know, whatever.
85
What I don't do is create conflict or create doubt,
86
division, confusion, or a poor reputation for whoever it is that I'm being asked about.
87
Because whenever somebody just asks the question simply, you know, do you work with that person? like the way
88
that i saw this today what happened there is they took
89
the opportunity to tell this stranger a stranger asking a question
90
in the comment section they took the opportunity to tell this
91
person who is probably thinking well of both the person he was asking
92
and of me wanting us to work together they took it as an opportunity to tell this person that i create conflict,
93
that I don't work with them.
94
And by the way, all these other people, they all work well together, but not this Russell guy.
95
That is them in a very creative, covert, maybe not even intentional way.
96
I don't know their motives at all, but that is them telling somebody that they need to adjust their filter.
97
If they were thinking well of me
98
and thinking well of like abolitionist rising they now need to think differently about
99
that they now need to think oh that group I like
100
that group I see their fruit I see their work I
101
hear their heart I hear their words I see what they're
102
doing I think well of them now I think well this
103
person has told me not to think well of them in fact this person has told me
104
that not only should I not think well of them
105
but all these other people don't think well of them I
106
don't want to be on this I don't I you know and so it creates this filter.
107
And then once that filter is put on people's eyes, they're going to then filter everything they see through that.
108
And so now, moving forward, after having this sort of reputational filter put on them,
109
they're going to look at everything that I do and kind of be thinking, hmm, I wonder what he's really like.
110
I wonder if he's really not wanting to work with people and all this kind of stuff.
111
And the whole thing's just a lie.
112
The whole thing is literally slander.
113
Like there isn't a single abolitionist on this planet who agrees with abolishing abortion to the glory of God,
114
seeking to establish equal justice under the law for pre -born fatherless children who are,
115
you know, legally aborted that I don't want to work with.
116
I want to have full unity.
117
with every abolitionist with every christian okay um now that doesn't mean
118
that i don't believe certain things or think that there are good things
119
and bad things biblical ways and unbiblical ways and things
120
that you know that i would point out with the people that i'm truly
121
unified with like if somebody i'm actually unified with
122
and they're a brother they're a sister we're working in the battle
123
and they're doing something that i think is you know maybe erring this way
124
or that way
125
and I want to say something about it that's not me like to be unified with them I would point
126
that out and that has been the genesis of a lot of this you know conflict
127
when somebody somewhere is maybe they're in a debate they're in a discussion they're planning a project
128
and they're putting forward some kind of idea that's unbiblical either myself
129
or some other abolitionist may point that out may say hey actually the way
130
that you're answering this question is is inconsistent with the word of God
131
or it's inconsistent with the the principles
132
that we're you know all putting into play or whatever
133
and may point that out and so a person who's in unity
134
when they're given correction in humility they look at the correction they look at the critique
135
and they say okay come let us reason together
136
this is a biblical critique i see the error in what i'm saying
137
and even though it's kind of difficult you kind of just
138
say okay i see i see how i need to change the way i answer
139
that question or change the way i put together that project or whatever it was and in humility
140
remain unified and thank the brother who brought the correction like
141
that is one way to do
142
that the other way is to bristle up in your pride act like you've been attacked
143
and instead of admitting
144
that you're wrong saying you know what the people who are
145
correcting me are mean bad people i can protect myself from
146
their correction by telling everybody on the internet how bad they are
147
so that maybe they won't listen to them whenever they bring other corrections.
148
So I don't know if it's like a person that's wanting to continue to walk in error.
149
I think most of the time it's not.
150
I think most of the time it's just somebody who missteps, has like a wrong thought, wrong action, and instead of correcting themselves,
151
just can't do that or something.
152
And then they decide
153
that they're going to protect themselves from criticism by creating a
154
bad reputation in the minds of all of the people that might listen to the critics.
155
This is certainly what pro -lifers have done.
156
Pro -lifers have sought for over a decade
157
and a half to protect their ideology and their strategies and their practices by telling everyone who will listen,
158
don't listen to those abolitionists they're bad people
159
and it has done a lot of harm to the cause
160
it has set us back we're talking about millions upon millions of babies lives have been lost
161
because of the delay that this kind of sinful behavior um causes and so it's continuing today i see it frequently
162
me and my you know you know brothers
163
that you know the guys abolitionist rising we are trying real
164
hard to figure out how to navigate this constant accusation um
165
you know there's almost at various periods like whenever people are planning projects
166
or you know gearing up to to do things and
167
and wanting the support of other people and all
168
that kind of stuff it seems to sort of bubble up this spirit this attitude
169
and during those times all of a sudden it's like not
170
a day goes by where you can't get on facebook or twitter
171
and see some comment from somebody out there saying you know
172
hey um by the way can i tell you about these bad abolitionists
173
and how um not only do they not work well with people they you know me
174
and all my friends we work well with each other And we're like, we're real.
175
We're all good.
176
But these these abolitionists are bad.
177
They do that all the time.
178
And you don't really know how to respond to it.
179
We've tried different things in different ways at different times, like over over the past, you know, five years or so.
180
It's like kind of like, well, do you respond to it there and then and try to like engage the person and say, no, what you're saying isn't true for the following reasons.
181
When you do that, people see it as infighting
182
and they accuse you of infighting
183
because they've embrace the filter like someone has given him the filter
184
that you are an infighter that you are all about conflict
185
and so because they've gotten
186
that filter from the person who creates division this is creating division
187
and the reason i think this is so bad is also
188
because god hates it um god hates like god lists this
189
sort of uh discordant causing behavior in the list of things
190
he hates right there along with murder child sacrifice shedding innocent blood right
191
because of its disastrous effect but not a day goes by where you don't see a comment from someone
192
who i you know i don't know what their motives are
193
but if their true heart of heart motive is to abolish abortion they need to know
194
that what they're doing in laying down this bad reputation against abolitionists is they are pushing back success in the cause.
195
Ultimately, God knows when that's going to happen and we don't have to really freak out about it, but we all want to see the abolition of abortion.
196
And when it comes time to like stand up and you unify a ton of people together, you've got a bill, you've got a legislator, you've got people in unity and
197
you know filters are being created
198
and you've got people saying those abolitionists are bad those abolitionists are bad
199
and then you have other supporters of abolition
200
and abolitionists saying well these particular abolitionists are bad
201
and then you've got legislators who are like well listen I was going to work with them
202
but now I've got the world and I've got these guys
203
and I got all this stuff like now I need to distance
204
and then they distance themselves from us
205
and it weakens them it weakens us it weakens the cause
206
and then instead of standing in strength and unity and power
207
and abolishing abortion you know what happens tails go between legs people like look at everything through
208
that filter and they decide well i don't really want to be like working with people
209
that are you know full of conflict and division and i'll divide from them or i'll lessen my strength with them.
210
I'll lessen my unity with them.
211
And so ironically, the people who are creating the most discord
212
and disunity are the people who are accusing us of being divisive.
213
It's very clever.
214
It's very hard to deal with.
215
And oftentimes, if you deal with it, it's considered infighting
216
so i don't know what to do how to deal with
217
this i for the past you know few years i've primarily
218
tried to just sort of focus on the work put my
219
head down do what i can to go around these gatekeepers knowing
220
that a lot of people everywhere will be setting a filter by
221
which people are supposed to examine you know me
222
and whenever they go and they look
223
and they watch hours upon hours of footage online they're like
224
man this guy doesn't strike me as the divisive evil person
225
that they told me he was
226
and um you know that's what I've decided to do just kind of focus on the work
227
but when I see just so much
228
so much harm being done by this kind of constant assault
229
and accusation I do want to say something about it
230
so the reason I made this video is just just to tell you that this is,
231
in my humble opinion, the thing that Satan, the world, the evil ones,
232
like this is the number one thing that is being used to set back the abolitionist cause.
233
And unfortunately, it is not just the world or the pro -life movement that is engaged in carrying it out.
234
So I just want to tell you about it so that you can be aware when it's happening.
235
And hopefully whenever you hear people say, oh, like if they say it about me, like, oh, that Russell, he's,
236
he creates conflict and he doesn't work with people.
237
And me and me and all these groups, we all work really well together, but we don't work well with him.
238
Please just at least consider this filter by which you can look at that.
239
Perhaps that is something they're saying
240
and it's not true and that you need to at least be aware
241
that they're creating a filter by which you are going to look at me
242
and the work that I'm doing and the work that others
243
that I work with are doing
244
and it is going to make you less connected less unified
245
and guilty if you repeat it or
246
if you follow it guilty of the very thing
247
that we're being accused of
248
so it's very clever it's very it's very uh it's the way it's the way sin works
249
and it's usually you know we can't talk about motives but it's usually like sin begetting sin begetting sin.
250
There's whatever's at back of it, whether it's jealousy, rivalry, all the things that the word of God tells us to be on the lookout for.
251
You have to take that serious.
252
When the Bible talks about rivalrous strife, jealousy, that sort of thing, lack of humility, and the sin that begets more sin,
253
and the way that this leads to discord among brothers, you gotta realize that's talking about something that really does happen.
254
And so that's all for your consideration.
255
Thank you for watching my short video.
256
Next time I come to you, maybe that thing will be gone.
257
All right.
258
See you later.
259
Love you.
