Prática de Shadowing: TOEFL Listen and Repeat - Practice Test One - Aprenda a falar inglês com vídeo

Criando lição...
1
Okay, so my video about the listen
2
and repeat section of the TOEFL has been like the most popular thing on this channel in months.
3
So since there's so much interest in the listen and repeat section, I thought I might introduce a new video series.
4
And here's how it's going to go.
5
In each of the videos, I'm going to give you one complete listen and repeat practice set.
6
That is all seven sentences, and there'll be beeps and pauses to simulate the real test.
7
Let me know what you think about that.
8
Now, in just a second, we'll start that.
9
You're going to listen along when you hear the beep, repeat the sentence.
10
And if you stick around until the end of the video, I'll come back and talk a little bit about strategy and tips, and we'll discuss what's coming up later in the channel.
11
All right, so get ready.
12
Here is Listen and Repeat practice set one.
13
Thank you.
14
Then bring it to the desk near the entrance.
15
Show your student card so a librarian can check the book out for you.
16
You'll get a receipt with the book's due date printed on the bottom.
17
Return the book before the due date to avoid late fees.
18
If you cannot find what you need, a librarian can help you search the catalog.
19
When you're done with your book, place it in the return box just outside the front door.
20
Okay, so that is your first listen and repeat practice set.
21
If you have any questions, you can leave a comment down below, or you can visit my website, which is toeflresources.com.
22
In terms of strategy for this section, I want to remind you again that you should focus on maxing out those first five sentences.
23
A lot of people complain to me.
24
They're like, the last two sentences are too long and impossible.
25
I can't remember them.
26
That may be true, but the first five are shorter.
27
So your goal should be to max out your score in those first five sentences
28
so that even if you kind of screw up the last two you still get a pretty good overall score.
29
Keep that in mind.
30
The other bit of strategy is always remember
31
that there is like a two-second gap between the end of the sentence and the beep.
32
A lot of students complain that they forget the sentence during that gap, and then by the time the beep plays, it's like floated away from their minds.
33
So I want you to use those two seconds to sort of repeat the sentences in your head a little bit.
34
And then remember, you don't have to talk like as soon as the beep goes.
35
So you could use those two seconds plus the beep
36
and a little bit of time after the beep to just sort of organize your thoughts
37
and repeat the whole thing in your head once, maybe twice.
38
And so that by the time you speak, you're really familiar with the sentence and how it goes.
39
That's my thought.
40
Anyways, as for what's coming up in the channel, if there is a positive reaction to this video, I'll upload more of these practice sets.
41
And if you want them, I could upload some practice sets for the interview task as well.
42
I could put the interview questions in.
43
I could let you answer.
44
And then maybe in the second half of the video, I could put in my answers.
45
Let me know what you think about that.
46
Or maybe you prefer practice sets for the writing part of the test.
47
I don't know.
48
Let me know what you want and I will create it.
49
I am here for you.
50
I'm going to leave it at that.
51
But thanks for tuning in all the way to the end of the video.
52
And good luck on the TOEFL.
53
Let me know how it goes.
