And so I'll read a book,

or maybe two or three I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery I'll play guitar in it,

and cook in basically Just wonder when will my life begin?

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking Paper mache,

a bin of ballet and chess Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making Then I'll stretch,

maybe sketch, take a climb, so a dress And I'll be read the books, if I have time to spare I'll paint the walls some more,

I'm sure there's room somewhere And then I'll brush and brush

and brush and brush my hair Stuck in the same place I've always been

And I'll keep wandering and wandering and wandering and wandering Where's where my life begins?

7am the usual morning line-up Line-up is a synonym for agenda or schedule.

When she says the usual morning line-up, she is referring to her usual routine, the sequence of activities she's programmed to do in the morning.

This word can also be used to describe television or a concert program in schedule, like Fox's morning lineup includes lots of news programs,

or Billie Eilish will be in Lollapalooza's lineup this year.

Yeah well just some old footage.

Chores are routine tasks mostly related to housework like cooking or taking the garbage out.

Rapunzel mentions a few of them that you're probably familiar with.

However did you know that some of these verbs can have a completely different meaning when used to form different idioms.

The literal meaning of sweep is to clean the floor using a brush.

Now if you say

that someone swept something under the rug it means they hid something unpleasant to keep it as a secret.

Both wives from the White House?

That's a meeting they they couldn't sweep under the rug.

The fact that the chairman sent anyone is promising, but we need to make sure our message gets back to him.

Another idiom with this verb is to sweep someone off their feet, which means to make someone fall completely in love with you or to shock them in a positive way emotionally.

Hey, wait, what are you doing?

You know, you should sweep me off my feet out yonder window and down a rope onto your valiant steed.

You've had a lot of time to plan this, haven't you?

Polish is to clean using a piece of cloth until it's shining.

Now, if you say that someone polishes the apple or is an apple polisher, it means excessively and insincerely praising someone hoping to get a favor.

For example, John is always polishing the apple with the boss but everybody knows he's hoping for a promotion.

This idiom makes reference to the image of small children bringing their teacher an apple to make a good impression.

What are you doing?

Huh?

I'm just polishing the silver.

But that is my job.

Yes.

But I'm so good at it.

The trick is to rub it until you can see your reflection.

You see?

Yeah.

That's my pretty face.

These are Felicia's class.

It's Mrs. Hoover's birthday.

You know, they're names for people like you.

No, they're, um...

Teacher's pet.

Apple polisher.

Butt kisser.

Wax is the yellow plastic substance produced by bees.

It's also the substance made of fat or oil used to make candles or to make things shiny.

When you use it to polish, it can be used as a verb like I clean and wax the floor once a week.

Now take a look at this sentence.

I swear this is the whole ball of wax.

I have nothing else to tell you.

What do you think it means?

That's it.

The whole ball of wax is a common American idiom that means the whole thing, everything.

Oh, I might as well pick one of these up while I'm at it.

For the white.

He's gotta have them.

Anything else, Truman?

That's the whole ball of wax.

See you later.

Do the laundry is to wash the dirty clothes.

However, you may hear the expression wash their dirty laundry in public.

Dirty laundry refers to a person's secrets.

She's smiling.

Is she happy?

The important thing is not to tell anyone.

She looks happy.

So what does it matter?

Don't wash your dirty laundry in public.

A mop is a long stick with strings at one end.

It can be used as a verb to describe the cleaning done using this piece of equipment.

Now what if you mop the floor with someone?

What does it mean?

Do you think it's something like this?

Hello Charlie.

Judith, how's it going?

Hey Uncle Charlie, show mom how I mop the floor with my hair.

Well it's not really mopping, it's more like dusting.

As funny as this would be, to mop the floor with someone is a very informal American

way of saying you completely defeat someone in a game or competition.

Brits would

say wipe the floor with someone instead.

New paintings to my gallery I'll play guitar and dance and cook and basically Just wonder when will my life begin?

100

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking Paper mache,

101

a bin of ballet and chess Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making Then I'll stretch,

102

maybe sketch, take a climb In this part,

103

Rapunzel mentions a few very common free time activities like reading a book, painting, playing the guitar, knitting and cooking.

104

By the way, do you know the difference between cooking and baking?

105

Cooking is a more general term for preparing food.

106

Baking is a specific term for cooking with an oven.

107

What about the other activities?

108

Can you identify them?

109

I'm

110

going to

111

go ahead and put it in the middle of the room.

112

Now when talking about the activities you prefer doing you can refer to them like this

113

I'm keen on reading books but I'm not very fond of cooking.

114

Repeat after me.

115

I'm keen on reading books but I'm not very fond of cooking.

116

There are three parts in this sentence where I connect the words.

117

Can you identify them?

118

First, instead of saying keen on, I say keen on.

119

This means that I like something.

120

For example, I'm keen on horror movies or I'm keen on maths.

121

The second link is in but I.

122

You can hear but I.

123

Americans would probably change the sound and pronounce it but I.

124

The last part is FOND OF.

125

The D connects with the O.

126

FOND OF.

127

And you can barely hear the preposition OF.

128

If you are not fond of something, it means you don't like it.

129

For example, I'm not fond of cooking.

130

Now let's practice it.

131

I'm keen on reading books, but I'm not very fond of cooking.

132

I want you to say these sentences to practice your speaking.

133

Try to finish one sentence before the next one shows up.

134

How did it go?

139

140

In the same place I've always been And I'll keep wandering and wandering and wandering and wandering Where's where my life begins?

141

Having time to spare means that you have some extra free time because you finished your tasks earlier than expected.

142

I'll be read the books if I have time to spare I'll chase them anywhere there's time to spare

143

Let me share this whole new world with you.

144

If I say this table takes up too much room, what is another word for room in this context?

145

That's right, room is a physical space used for something.

146

It can also be used with a different meaning when we want to express the possibility of something to happen or exist.

147

For example, this is a war, there's no room for doubt.

148

And I suppose your little Indian friend told you this?

149

Yes.

150

Lies!

151

Lies!

152

All of it!

153

Murderous thieves, there's no room for their kind and civilised society.

154

If you're not familiar with her story, Rapunzel is a princess who was kidnapped by a witch

155

when she was a baby baby and has lived her entire life captive in a tower.

156

Wonder here is connected to Rapunzel's curiosity of knowing how the world outside the routine tower works.

157

She keeps imagining how different life outside the tower is.

158

Only landmarks all I've lost in the woods Wondering if you still care

159

I can't believe that it's been 10 years.

160

Can you believe it's been 10 years, Zach?

161

In some ways, yeah.

162

The greys have really started to become more pronounced.

163

But no, it actually, in some ways it feels like even longer ago, and in some ways it actually feels like the blink of an eye.

164

And I think it's just because the movie's so evergreen, and I have so many friends and family, I'm sure you do too, that watch it and re-watch it, and I get reminded of it,

165

and just how grateful I am that we got to do it together.

166

It was such an immense pleasure and joy, and really, like Zach has said many a time,

167

a bucket list, like, opportunity and experience, and one that I will never forget.

168

So just, yes, just endless gratitude for all of the support that people have shown the film over the years.

169

Yes, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto.

170

All of the above.

171

Thank you for believing in the film then, for continuing to believe in it now, for sharing it, for being enthusiastic about it.

172

We're so grateful for all of your love and support over the years, too.

173

We hope you enjoy it for years to come and thank you, thank you, thank you for all your love and support.

174

I can't believe that it's been 10 years.

175

Can you believe it's been 10 years, Zach?

176

Uh, in some ways, yeah, the greys have really started to become more pronounced.

177

If something is more pronounced, it means that it's more evident and you can notice it more easily.

178

Zack jokes about being able to notice that 10 years have passed because now his grey hairs, which are a sign of aging, are more evident.

179

My first grey hair?

180

Oh Marge, don't worry.

181

A lot of movie stars have grey hair, like all those women we loved in the 80s.

182

But no, it actually, in some ways it feels like even longer ago

183

and in some ways it actually feels like the blink of an eye.

184

Zach previously mentioned that he saw the 10 years passing by

185

because of his newly acquired grey hair but here he mentions that it felt like the blink of an eye.

186

To say something feels or happens in the blink of an eye is the same as saying it happens extremely quickly.

187

So what Zach is saying is that there were times that he barely felt the time passing.

188

and I just whisper of smoke.

189

You could lose everything.

190

The truth is you never know.

191

He also uses the word actually two times in a sentence.

192

Actually is a common word used in conversations in English and it is what we would call a discourse marker.

193

Discourse markers are words that we say to give us more time to think, add a natural flow to the conversation or emphasize what we're saying.

194

The word actually when used as a discourse marker can have different meanings.

195

Here Zach used it in two different ways.

196

First in the beginning of a sentence it shows

197

that he changed his mind about what he said before about 10 years passing by.

198

Then in the end he uses it as a synonym of really.

199

Check out these other examples of the use of actually.

200

There!

201

Cafe camps for the whole city!

202

Well this is so exciting actually, I mean, well, you know, I never get to do anything this important.

203

Enjoyed for many years by one happy family...

204

Boop! Of raccoons.

205

I'm kidding.

206

Actually...

207

Actually, it did make us happy for a long time.

208

It's gonna be tough to say goodbye.

209

I don't have work tonight.

210

I'm actually gonna go to a bowling alley and get some beers and watch people bowl.

211

And I think it's just because the movie's so evergreen and I have so many friends and family, I'm sure you do too, that watch it and rewatch it and I get reminded of it

212

and just how grateful I am that we got to do it together.

213

You can use evergreen to describe something that is consistently relevant regardless of how old it is.

214

means that even though Tangled was released 10 years ago it still has fans and people who watch it until this day.

215

Which of these words does not have the same meaning as grateful?

216

A person who feels gratitude towards something is thankful for what they have and doesn't look for more.

217

Now notice how Zack pronounces this sentence.

218

I get reminded of it and just how grateful I am that you got to do it together.

219

First, when he says got to, you can only hear one T.

220

When two equal consonants meet, in this case T from got and T from to, one of them is dropped and you can only hear one of them.

221

Check out some examples.

222

I hope you have a good day.

223

I had the best time last night.

224

Another thing that happens in connected speech is when some vowels meet, they often blend and form a new intrusive sound.

225

Listen to how he says do it reminded of it

226

and just how grateful I am that we got to do it together.

227

Here there is an extra worse sound between do and it.

228

So instead of listening to do and it, what you hear is do it.

229

Check out these other examples.

230

I'll never run, I'll never try to escape.

231

I'll never run, I'll never try to escape.

232

This is it.

233

This is a very big day, Pascal.

234

I'm finally gonna do it.

235

I'm gonna ask you.

236

Finally gonna do it.

237

It was such an immense pleasure and joy and really, like Zach has said many a time, a bucket list.

238

Like, opportunity and experience and one that I will never forget.

239

So just, yes, just endless gratitude for all of the support that people are from.

240

I don't want to do such a promise.

241

Bucket list is a list of all the things and experiences a person wants to have during his or her life.

242

Well, I can cross that off the bucket list.

243

Less, when used at the end of a word, indicates without.

244

Some common examples are

245

I feel like the world and kingdom of Corona is so rich and the possibilities are endless.

246

There are limitless characters and royalty and you know people that live in town.

247

So endless literally means that there's no end.

248

What Mandy Moore is saying is she'll always be thankful for all the support the movie has received.

249

And I don't know why but with you I can't hear the storm in my best dress, fearless.

250

Yes, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, all of the above.

251

Ditto is a word used to show you agree with what was said before.

252

So for example, if someone says I love this show, instead of repeating the whole sentence and saying I also love this show, you can just say ditto.

253

Zach repeats it four times here to emphasize how much he agrees with what Mandy said before.

254

Do you love me Sam?

255

What do you think?

256

Why don't you ever say it?

257

What do you mean why don't I ever say it?

258

I say it all the time.

259

No you don't, you say ditto and that's not the same.

260

We're so grateful for all of your love and support over the years too.

261

In this context she says fans of the movie gave them support.

262

To support someone means to encourage them, wishing them success.

263

This is commonly used when referring to sports teams like in my house we support the Seattle Seahawks, it's a family tradition.

264

However it can also indicate to help someone emotionally, financially or in a practical way.

265

We each made a sacrifice to get what we wanted.

266

Now you must make a choice.

267

But I don't wanna pick sides.

268

Why can't you be on my side?

269

That's what family's supposed to do.

270

Support you. But you never will.

271

Come on, Donkey.

272

I'm right here beside you.

273

Okay?

274

emotional support.

275

We'll just tackle this thing together one little baby step at a time.

276

We hope you enjoy it for years to come and thank you thank you thank you for all your love and support.

277

For years to come is used to indicate that something will continue for many years into the future.

278

You can replace years for months, weeks or days to still give the idea of continuity of a shorter period of time time.

279

Look, I'm fusing transsected spinal cords, I'm stimulating neurogenesis in the central nervous system.

280

The work I'm doing is going to save thousands for years to come.

281

Keeping your kids off the streets now may teach them a degree of caution

282

that may protect them in the days and the weeks to come.

283

Polish and wax, do laundry and mop and shine up, sweep again and by then it's like 7.15.

284

And so I'll read a book, or maybe two or three, I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery.

285

I'll play guitar and dance and cook and basically just wonder when will my life begin.

286

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking Paper mache,

287

a bin of ballet and chess Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making Then I'll stretch,

288

maybe sketch, take a climb So I dress, and I'll be read the books If I have time to spare, I'll paint

289

I'll paint the walls some more

290

I'm sure there's room somewhere And then I'll brush and brush

291

And brush and brush my hair Stuck in the same place I've always been

292

And I'll keep wandering And wandering And wandering And wandering Where's where my life begins?

293

I can't believe that it's been 10 years.

294

Can you believe it's been 10 years, Zach?

295

Uh, in some ways, yeah.

296

The greys have really started to become more pronounced.

297

But no, it actually, in some ways, it feels like even longer ago.

298

And in some ways, it actually feels like the blink of an eye.

299

And I think it's just because the movie's so evergreen.

300

And I have so many...

301

I'm sure you do too.

302

Yeah.

303

Watch it and re-watch it, and I get reminded of it, and just how grateful I am that we got to do it together.

304

It was such an immense pleasure and joy, and really, like Zach has said many a time, a bucket list.

305

I like opportunity and experience and one that I will never forget.

306

So just, yes, just endless gratitude for all of the support that people have shown the film over the years.

307

Yes, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto.

308

All of the above.

309

Thank you for believing in the film then, for continuing to believe in it now, for sharing it, for being enthusiastic about it.

310

We're so grateful for all of your love and support over the years, too.

311

We hope you enjoy it for years to come, and thank you, thank you, thank you for all your love and support.

312

Oh, I don't know why, but I've always loved the idea of summer and sun and all things hot.

313

Really?

314

I'm guessing you don't have much experience with heat.

315

Nope.

316

But sometimes I like to close my eyes and imagine what it'd be like when summer does come.

317

Ahhhh...

318

Bees the buzz, kids the blow dandelion fuzz, and I'll be doing whatever snow does in summer.
