were among the topics discussed during the talks between the two leaders.

sound and high-quality development of China-Russia relations is a strategic choice jointly made by President Putin and me.

With a view to the fundamental interests of both countries and the broader trend of global development,

President Putin and I have agreed to extend the treaty of good neighborliness and friendly cooperation between China and Russia.

After the talks, the two leaders signed a joint statement on further strengthening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership

and deepening good neighborly friendship and cooperation.

Most importantly, Russia and China are committed to independent and autonomous foreign policies,

operate in close strategic partnership,

and play an important stabilizing role on the global stage.

During the visit, the two sides reached agreements on some 40 cooperation documents across areas,

including trade, education, science, technology and other fields.

In economic and trade relations,

China has remained Russia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years.

Our very first question to you is that what is the significance of Russian President Putin's visit to China for both countries?

I think it's very important to see that the meeting between President Xi Jinping

and President Putin came just a few days after the very historic President Trump visit to China.

From China, it raises the very important image of growing global superpower.

I think China will look at Russia as a very important partner in terms of providing their energy.

And that's why the agreement on the very important pipeline,

the power of Siberia from Russia to China.

And from the Russian perspective,

I think it's more important for Russia to secure a deepening tie with China in terms of economic trade

and in terms of technological cooperation as well

because they are now isolated internationally and they don't really receive a lot of investment from Western countries.

So what could be the long-term implications of closer Russia-China ties?

On a bigger term, if we look at the way that the Chinese and Russian leaders are talking about building,

strengthening their political tie in terms of improving their own currency trading,

not depending on intermarries from USD and from the international system.

It's also signaling that they are willing to to build a new kind of more independent system

that might be less reliant on the the current western system

which might insulate them against any kind of risks surrounding their over-reliance on the current global trading system.

So in your opinion, what impact could this partnership have on the global economy.

After the Middle East crisis,

I think many countries in the world are suffering from the oil shock.

So if there is any kind of ideal,

first in terms of how to solve the Middle East crisis,

and second, how to secure more stable energy supply to the rest of the world,

I think would have a very important impact on the global economy.

So if China wants to build their own supply chain,

And Russia wants to be a part of that.

I think we are seeing an increasing polarization of supply chain that would have a very significant impact on other countries,

including countries in Southeast Asia like Vietnam or Thailand,

because now we have to decide what kind of supply chain that we want to be a part of.

And I think that we are going to be a very,

very tough question for smaller countries to answer.
