Hello, welcome to Beth Roars where we look at your favourite singers to find out what makes them them.

I have to say there's been someone in the comments who has been repeatedly asking for this guy for months

and I haven't listened until now.

I am not a massive expert on Iranian music

but I'm always up for listening to music that I would have never come across before.

So let's give it a listen.

His tone is so warm on that lower end.

It's really well developed.

He isn't pushing.

Now, As I say, I'm no expert on this style of singing, but the fundamentals are still the same.

You can see his neck isn't tensing or anything.

His breath support is good.

He's not pushing loads of breath out.

He's got full cord closure, so you can hear that really kind of full tone.

And when he goes down, instead of kind of pushing for those lower notes, he is relaxing down onto them and letting them,

allowing his body to be resonant or allowing his body to feel the feeling of resonance.

I think that's my biggest tip to any singer.

Listen to your body and how the sound feels in your body

and if it feels good in your body you've got it.

If it feels like hard work then there's something you might need to adapt.

But well we'll talk about this in a minute because some of these runs are just spectacular.

I think it's the run.

It's so fast.

They're so fast and so clean.

And again, my main tip for this is just getting it really slow.

YouTube has a great feature for this actually you can slow it really down

and it stays at pitch so slow it down listen to it really like half speed

and try and get it that speed

and then speed it up bit by bit by bit by bit until your voice gets really used to that

so many guitars it's so warm because of it

It's really good.

What is really impressive as well is that he's able to keep that agility, those fast moving phrases, while he's really low.

It often gets harder when you get to the bottom of your range like that, but that is a testament to what I was saying earlier, that really well developed, really relaxed,

really easy lower range which not everyone has and or

Everyone has the potential to have but it often takes a bit of work to get there And then that mix Yes

I have to remember the name of this guy because he's so cool.

Mohsen, Yagana?

I hope I said that right.

And what I really love is that there's such simplicity in this writing that everyone can sing along with the chorus.

But then he's adding these tiny little runs in when he's singing

that are extra complicated not everyone can sing those very well

um i mean it took me a really really long time i'm not a natural agile singer

and it took me a really long time to get my riffs

and runs not in this style but really quick

and um i love how he's got these really simple phrases in in the chorus

but when he's on the bridge and

when he's on the verses yeah they're They're kind of showing off

and he's taking us on this dynamic journey He's got all these textures in his voice

that warmth at the bottom that kind of punch and Nasality in his higher mix.

I love it Again. So good.

I find it so interesting.

People who play an instrument

and sing often have a really similar approach to their guitar playing

or whatever instrument they play and he is certainly no exception to this rule

that I I seem to find in that he has this really great balance between complete simplicity

that is really really beautiful and then when he does those little fast moving phrases

um they really mean something they really stand out

and you're like wow because you're not overloaded by it

and I think that that's a really really clever and tasteful way to sing and play Yes!

It just, I don't know what the lyrics mean but it gives me so much joy this.

It just makes me want to smile.

He looks really happy.

I really enjoyed that.
